Hey!

Thanks for dropping by.

I'm just another drop in the sea of internet entrepreneurs.

Non-coding SEO and WordPress expert. Always have big ideas, but never enough time.

The training here works, just stick to it and never give up. It takes grit to be successful, and a hunger that outweighs the hard work. It's that simple.

hi Waian
I hadn't actually published my about me post, that's why it wasn't showing up in my custom menu selection page...so it's there now, but my site still doesn't look at all like Kyle's in the training vid. would you mind having a look at it to see if I'm on the right track or what needs doing...? thanks

Hello Waian. I know its been a bit, but i was wondering if i could ask you another question. When applying to affiliate programs, for example, sharesale im tryiing to apply for, when they ask me for my email address. Do i supply the email address on my website url, or my own personel address.? Thanks for any help Waian.

Hey Doug! Unless you have a good reason to use your personal email address, I would recommend using your website email address for a smoother & faster account approval.

is this the address the team gives me when i buy the domain?
Reply

No, it's the domain-specific email address you can create on the SiteEmail page. Eg., hello@mydomain.com

Hi! I need your help, please.

I went to Website Manager and clicked "Log In." It then showed a page that said:

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, [no address given] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

When I refreshed the page, it showed "Install Website" after I clicked on the Website Manager. I already created my website, but that's what shows up when I go to Website Manager.

What do you think is happening and how can I fix it?

Thank you in advance for your help.

I'm probably not the best person to ask. Have you tried SiteSupport? https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites/support
Reply

Actually, just realized you're not Premium yet so contacting support won't quite work lol. I honestly would help if I could, but I'm just another user and don't have any sort of access to see what's going on. Did you clear your cache? Otherwise, if it's still not working I'd say your best bet would probably be to restart.

hello Wiain. Thanks for answering my question. Get traffic first. Okay if i ask another. When you are blogging, do you start with a main introduction blog, then branch out in the widgets? Ive seen lots of websites that dont target anywhere near 1000 words. Im starting my first blog ever, and need your advice. thankyou.
Reply
waian Premium
Are you asking about the topic of your first blog post?

It honestly doesn't matter. I have (and know many others who have) simply jumped right in and written a review or 'how-to' as my first post. As long as your site isn't meant to be a chronological story of some sort, having your first post be "Introduction to my Blog" is unnecessary. Besides, the information in a post like that might fit better on the About page.

Not every post has to be 1,000 words, especially when started out. 1,000 is just a general guideline by the way, but in competitive niches you'll probably need to be closer to the 2,000+ range. It sounds daunting at first, but once you get into the hang of blogging it becomes quite easy. As for how to write long posts quickly, I'd suggest checking out a video on YouTube called "How to Write a Perfect Blog Post in One Hour" It's by the channel "Income School". You'll have to search that in YouTube. I tried simply putting the link there but it appears WA doesn't allow links to YouTube so....
Also, just know that these guys have been doing this for years so it'll probably take you a lot longer, but at least it's an effective strategy that should help speed up the process.

Hope this helps. If you need anything else just let me know. :)

Hello Waian. I have an idea i wanted to run by you guys. When i was a kid, i enjoyed playing with remote controlled toys. There is a website called (Hobbytron), which has a good affiliate program, banners and ads. Do you think i should stick to one , like planes, cars, or boats .and talk about different planes, or boats,. I realise the potential for expansion on the website is endless, but i think i should stick to learning about one first. I just wanted to run it by you, thanks Waian.
Reply
waian Premium
Yes, I would stick with one and then if you need to expand down the road, you could easily do so. I think that's a great niche, by the way!

'm having a couple of issues regarding my website www.exercisegrid.com
Now the problem is that when you first visit the homepage, the widgets are on the right hand side, that's fine.
But, when I click on "continue reading" under the keyword rich content post or the "About Me" page or the "Privacy Policy" page, the widgets get shifted to the left hand side. How do I fix this from happening?
Reply
waian Premium
From my end, everything looks fine. I'm viewing from a 15.6 in laptop. What device are you using?
Reply
AV2001 Premium
It doesn't look fine. It's fine now cause I changed the theme to an old one. I'll probably choose a much professional one in the future.
Reply
waian Premium
Ah okay, yeah, I was viewing it with the Hiero theme.

I have a few theme suggestions for you. Some of these have a bit of a learning curve when it comes to customization, but they are all quite powerful and good looking (in my opinion).

- GeneratePress (this is the theme I use)
- Astra
- OceanWP
- Customify
- Mesmerize
- Septera
- Sparkling
Reply
AV2001 Premium
Thanks. I have tried some of them already today and yesterday as well. Will change the theme once I'm happy with my content. Can you check my Keyword Rich Content post on my website? Most of them said I need to put up images and all that. It's not done completely but I've published it (don't know why I did that). Should I increase the content?
Reply
waian Premium
Oh it's absolutely fine that you published your post! That will give it more time to get indexed. Once your site has a regular following, you will want to wait to publish a post until it's finished though. But at this stage it's fine. :)

Adding images would be a good idea, as not everyone knows what these machines look like. Also, images make articles more interesting and easier to read, and also more SEO friendly (important for Google rankings).

Another thing you could work on is adding links to the post. You have a link to Wikipedia which is great, but I would highly suggest making it clickable. For better user experience, you could also link to a YouTube video about rowing machines, instead of suggesting the user looks it up.

The article length is alright; a little on the short side though. I generally aim for at least 1,000 words.

Hope this helps!

Hi. I'm currently working on my Keyword Rich Content page. My website is about promoting exercise equipment. The title is Exercise Equipment for Beginners - Cardio Machines. I did a Jaaxy search and the results were amazing. Now for Topic 1 can I talk about treadmills and Topic 2 for exercise bikes and so on? There are 5 main cardio machines and hence 5 topics in total. I'll be explaining like what are the health benefits and which body part it has the most impact on and stuff like that. Is this a good idea?
Reply
waian Premium
Yes, sounds like a great idea! I would write about each topic in its own post, thoroughly explaining that specific cardio machine.

There are also many other article opportunities here, like "best [insert cardio machine here] 2018", "treadmill vs bike (or another cardio machine)", etc.

You could also write informational posts like "how to use a treadmill" (yes, people are searching that!).

There are sooo many great topics to write about in your niche...your site definitely has some huge potential!

Let me know if this helps!
Reply
AV2001 Premium
It definitely helps. So your saying that I write about 1000 words just on treadmill. So I only talk about treadmills. Like the health benefits, which part of the body it would have a major impact on and stuff like that.
Reply
waian Premium
Yup, and do the same for the other cardio machines as well. But instead of just randomly writing about them, target a specific keyword that people are actually searching. Maybe something like "Health Benefits of Using a Treadmill". :)

Hey thank you for your comment. I am getting started commenting on some profiles, and also since yesterday as I was going through the niche training I had written a ton of note ideas and responded to Kyle with them. Then tonight as I've been doing more research I think I might have one to work with so I will see how I can make it work.

I do plan to sign up by Monday before the upgrade to premium deal runs out for me to start because I think I could benefit from not just the community but also one on one mentoring too.

I see from your profile you are a wordpress pro, I would like to know more about it. When doing a job search I found something I was interested in but it said must have word press experience and so I am curious now.

Hope you are having a happy Friday!

Hey Susannah,

Good to hear about your progress!

WordPress is just what you use to build websites. (You'll be using it here at WA). There's tons of training on it here, so don't worry if you don't understand it yet.

I have had a lot of experience using WordPress (even before joining WA), and can manipulate it to do pretty much anything I need (without touching the code). So yeah, if you ever need help with anything specific about WordPress, I would be more than happy to help. :)

Hi Ian,
Thank you for following me...sorry it's taken so long to follow you back!

Great advice in your profile, btw...it doesn't work trying to do more than one website, especially starting out as I've learned myself...and like yourself, I found I love building websites, but eventually realize it's impossible to keep up on them all.

So, I'm cutting myself off from building anymore websites...although it is hard to ignore the "oooh, I should start a website on that..." ideas that keep coming to mind, lol. I totally get where you're coming from :)

Hi Ian. My name is Donna. Thank you for following me and thank you for the advice as I am brand new and won't be trying that at first. My plan was to take my time and learn this like the back of my hand, then build my website and see what happens. I, like you, have a thousand ideas also, but I'm going to start with one and get it done right hopefully. Then, I'll take it from there. Let me know what happens when you get down to one site. How are you fitting in homework with all that going on? And graduation? Heck, I'd concentrate on that. Sorry, that's the love for learning in me. Actually, I didn't like to be in school my Senior year cause it was all too easy and boring to me. But I went. Donna

Hi Ian, thanks for the follow.

Just a question... Why do you think that only one website is the way to go?

In my mind, setting up multiple websites would multiply revenue, once you've set it up, set autoresponders etc. and start getting traffic.

Obviously more websites = more work. But once the income moves into the passive world, wouldn't multiple websites be a good thing?

Cheers,

Simon

I spent a lot of money and time and effort and although I did learn a lot, I was not successful. Hello Waian ... thank you for the follow. I imagine home schooling programs include a lot of internet access to classes and training. This kind of experience will serve you well here at WA.

Yea ... developing one site at a time is the best course. If your using Content Marketing to build your SERPS, you know it's important to post often, on a regular basis. It's all about achieving content "critical mass" in the eyes of Google. Here critical mass = a steady and growing stream of site visitors (traffic).

I wish you the best on your WA journey.

Ian, nice to meet you. Well I am so far behind in responding to followers that it's hard for me to believe. But better late than never.

I left a short comment on your website on self grading. You have lots of good information in there but you might have too much white space. Think about tightening it up.

I wish you great success, a happy journey and some fun. Keep in touch.

Hi, Ian, hope you're enjoying your time at WA, and thanks for the follow, returned. Very interesting website for anybody thinking of taking up philately as a hobby or career, wishing you much success with it.

BTW, very subtle use of WA in your username, sounds like somebody from the South Pacific islands.

Best to you! I believe you are wise to spend time on an endeavor that provides education and opportunity. Please remember you don't have to know everything you just need to know who knows it. They taught me that in a masters class I took and it has served me well to keep me from being overwhelmed with the amount of information needed to exist in the rapidly growing tech world we live in.

Hi Waian,
Wish I had started when I was your age. But back then, the closest thing we had to a computer, was a ten-key adding machine ( I'm 72). However, here I am now, learning all I can to take my business to the next level. If there is anything I can help you with, don't hesitate to ask. Work hard. Stay committed. Love what you do. If you do that, "eyes have not seen, nor ears heard, what you may yet become". Be blessed. Peace.

P.S. If you get a chance check out how the training helped me to build my websites. My latest one on how to boost your retirement income just went live a month ago and the one on sleep apnea has been up for almost four months now. You can find the links on my profile page. Any feedback or comments would be greatly appreciated.
