Hi everyone.
My name's Ian, English guy, late 40s. I live on an island in Thailand where I have a guesthouse, a couple of dogs and a laid back lifestyle :-)
I've set up two successful websites over the years, one is 15 years old, the other 11 years old. And both make pretty good money through the selling of services rather than actual products. This is despite me knowing very little about marketing, and despite them not being set up with a specific aim of making money. But I know how to write informative and amusing content, which is what people seem to enjoy reading and Google likes ranking.
I've never tried making a site who's aim is specifically to sell a product. In the past couple of months I've been looking around at ways to begin the process of learning about how to do this. I looked into Black Hat sites and was tempted but I know from my own experience that putting time and effort in and building a site up slowly wins in the long run.
So, having spent a bit of time Googling it seems that Wealthy Affiliate is the way to go. Why not give it a shot? I signed up for WA to see where it leads me.
I figured the worst case scenario is that I learn something I can apply to my existing sites to make them more profitable.

1) $300 - 500 / month would be great. It'd be spending money to replace my phone, tablet, camera when I want.
2) $3000 - 5000 / month and I'd be very happy. Might not be enough for non-stop partying and a champagne-filled jacuzzi, but it's plenty for a quiet life here on the island. :-)
3) I spend quite a lot of time online, although a lot of it isn't that productive. So spending 2-3 hours a day isn't a problem for me. I can easily devote more time if required.

You absolutely can and you will achieve these goals (and likely beyond) Ian! Dedicate yourself to your goals and take action on what you learn here. Action leads to success and I have never seen anyone fail that doesn't quit.
I look forward to working with you and do let me know if you need a hand along the way. :)

Thanks nathaniell. It's all good. Slowly working through the lessons and finding it very interesting. Never sat down and taken any type of course before, all the other website stuff I've done is self taught. Been playing around with the keyword tool & jaaxy today. Now just waiting for a Paypal payment to clear & then will use the balance to upgrade to Premium.
