I have one site without any review at all, purely informational, and it was equally demolished as my other sites that are like your site. From this, I am not sure if this is about the type of posts. In fact, I am not sure about anything. But I myself need reviews when I search in Google. No idea where this all is going.

I totally understand what you are saying!

It's a real head scratcher. My traffic has had a spike the first half of March, but the last 2 days its down to nothing.

I'm in the MMO niche and promoting WA. I had a big fat ZERO referral for March 2024 (Down from 200-300 per month last year using SEO)

The funniest about it is that I started working on another website and didn't do squat on my main website to have it go up Or down...It does that on it's own.

"Not allowed" this is what I get. Anybody else?

Hey Jovo,

To be honest, I think this is one of MANY subjects that need a proper discussion, but it is NOT forthcoming.

Just a slight change of subject, but I have recently seen one of the most respected members of this forum, you'd out them in the "Top 10" most listened to and respected people here at WA, TWICE say something that I just can't agree with.

Essentially, if ANYONE dares mention issues with the hosting or SiteSupport, the response has come back along the lines of "I've never had a problem, they're fantastic and always have been"

Woohoo, well Bully for you... so are you saying the many HUNDREDS, potentially THOUSANDS of members who are experiencing issues are LYING?

Are the people who are experiencing issues all trouble-makers?

Are the people who are experiencing issues doing something wrong?

Look, I do 100% get it with Kyle, and Kyle if you are reading this, PLEASE can we once and for all have this discussion amicably, without either side proportioning blame or getting defensive.

But, Kyle started this business over 18 years ago, essentially it's like his baby, it is very much like one of his children. I TOTALLY GET THIS!

So, people complaining about "poor experiences" feels like a punch in the stomach, and as though someone is attacking his "baby".

Sure, I get that from a personal perspective, but this is a business.

There are literally 100s of people with (I'm talking about people who have approached me, so there's probably 1000s and 10000s of people with these same issues) the same type of hosting and SiteSupport problems.

But, it almost feels like it's "our fault".

"Sorry, you have to change your theme, nope it's your plugin, nope it's Google, etc."

This isn't really resolving an issue.

Furthermore, I don't want to be down on the hosting and SiteSupport, and YES I know that the platform hosting and our site hosting is different, but there is a LOT of downtime on the platform and glitches.

So, realistically there are "issues" with the platform's hosting... sure, YES, I understand that this happens from time-to-time, but COME ON, there are much larger websites, which a huge number of more monthly visitors, who DON'T experience as many problems.

Think about your Facebooks, TikToks, Quoras, Reddits, etc. How often do these platforms experience downtime and glitches on a WEEKLY BASIS?

We're still talking about platform Blog Editor issues almost a year after we first mentioned them.

Yesterday, who knows what went on in the afternoon, and that IS a regular occurrence, but sorry, it IS.

As for SiteSupport, sure they were great when I first came here, I only really speak to them 1-2 times a year, but my last 3-4 interactions have been truly horrific.

Here's something else, I've now had 4, yes FOUR members, speak to one of my EXTERNAL hosting companies about a problem with WordPress which SiteSupport couldn't help with.

The EXTERNAL hosting company provided assistance and helped resolved the problems for people who AREN'T EVEN PAYING FOR THEIR SERVICE.

That's not right!

SiteSupport can't help, but an external hosting provider THAT YOU HAVE PAID NO MONEY TO can!

I do honestly think we need to hear exacts, YES you can have these SPECIFIC plugins and NO you can't have these.

At the moment, we have SiteSupport can update WP Rocket for some members, but they can't for others.

That's not right, is it?

Should it not be the same service for EVERYONE?

I just don't know what to say anymore.

"It's your fault if your website is slow and your website blows up, don't blame the hosting or SiteSupport" - this is really how things are currently coming across.

And PLEASE, can no-one say, "Well, I've never had a problem" <--- this is nothing more than talking down to others and syaing that thye are potentially LYING!

I DON'T like that at all!!

Partha

I saw the notice "Partha is typing" and I just knew something like this was coming and I LOVE YOU for it, haha!

I'm one of those people that contacted you about this, and while I haven't switched yet, I'm a bit scared at the moment about extra costs (as for uncertain things about my partner's job), while not wanting to give up a trip to Africa, but now that my traffic has gone up again and some more income again, I will change hosting if things are not been taking seriously here about the hosting and better support!

And no Kyle, that is not a threat or to defame anything, but like so many others, I don't like site support in lots of cases.
Like the other day, look at this message in the screenshot and look at the actual date! This was a week ago!
And yes, me too, I get FREE support from other hosting that I am not even using! (yet)

My dear Partha, this is why people admire you here and most likely everywhere else. I can only hope that you will not be banned for this.

The problem is that some people become delusional. Most likely the same "respected" member claimed not so long ago in a comment to somebody here that downtime at WA hosting is a non-existing thing.

Sooner or later I shall have to move sites from here. As Jenny mentioned in her comment, even when WP Rocket works here, it is only partially. The issue with hosting cannot be solved, I had a long discussion with both supports several months ago.

We use the plugin because it was allowed in the past. Now it is not allowed. But we are not crazy, and we are not just trouble makers. Why paying extra for something if we do not need it? However, it is not true what they claim here that this hosting has all needed for caching and it is integrated. My sites were hopelessly slow without the plugin. No need to measure anything, you simply see it.

I can tell you now, if they ban Partha for this, I will switch hosting and go back to just premium instead of premium plus, because he is totally right about this topic!
Didn't they teach us to be always honest in our reviews online about a branch, because people appreciate this the most?
Well, this IS a "con" of the "pros and cons section", and the owners should take it seriously and make improvements and not just brush people of.
My 2 cents,
Lizzy

I know some who were pointing similar issues in the past, and they were right, but they were kicked out. I just checked, the profile of one of them is still here, collecting "followers" even though the man has gone 6 years ago.

Well done, I agree.

I have struggled with WP rocket not working properly for months, since April!
After much frustration I took the plunge and switched my hosting, no issues since.

Interesting. But you still pay them for membership here. If this continues I shall have to move.

Yes, my WA membership is due in April next year. I will likely cancel.
WP Rocket support looked into the issues for me and said that the plugin is only partially working. Issues with the .htaccess file and CRON, so WP Rocket could never function the way it should.

I know, I had a long correspondence with them. The same issues as yours.

Hi Jenny, I shall send you a PM if this is OK, to tell me about your hosting.

That’s fine. I use same hosting as Partha. Very happy with it!!

hmmmm.... i was hoping that they would let those who had it continue with it ...but maybe not... best way is to ask support to allow you to continue with it

They eventually replied, they updated it from their side, which means allowed update manually. Of course, the usual warning was there that it could not be updated properly but (as usual) I pressed 'dismiss', this has been so for many months as you know.

But I have it in three sites, so it is becoming more and more annoying for both sides. It will not end up well for us.

another nail in their coffin...
but it is managed hosting and their ball...
the fact that they keep changing the shape of the ball is really frustrating...
i have ditched wprocket - found it did little for my sites and gone back to my manual methods...
it's frustrating that they have taken away the opportunity to do backups manually and the file explorers....
but glad you are sorted - on one site at least...

I cannot ditch it, the sites are so obviously slow without it.

exactly, I need it as well, speed is horrible without it,and I'm not alone in this

Have you tried the last update?

not sure what you mean by the last update, as I always update plugins?

You have seen my question above. I could not update it, the same in 3 sites. Did the system allow the update at your side?

Ah I see, sorry, yes I was able to. But you need to ask for an exception with site support. Maybe contact Kyle straightforward, because things get lost in communication I have noticed when you contact the general site support. You really need to be strict and DEMAND the exception, so that you can update it.

I had this what you see in the screenshot, The same for 3 sites.

As for contacting the owners, I gave up many years ago, they do not reply to me.

wow, that is horrible that no one replies to this issue, you want to be allowed to update a plugin that you actually paid for. To be frank: I would switch hosting if you can not get an exception for WP rocket

They replied and updated it themselves in all three sites. But this cannot work like that, it makes no sense. See what Jenny wrote, the plugin works only partially. I know this is true.

Yes, I noticed that too, I get that message as well that it is not working totally as it should, on both of my sites. It does have to do with hosting. Don't like it either!
