Hello there,

My name is Mary. I've been with WA for 3 years. Not all of that time was spent working on my websites because for a while I was very ill, but even then I learned a huge amount just by being on the platform, reading, interacting, going through the training, immersed in the atmosphere. And experimenting with websites even just a little bit was enough to gain me some returns and has left me with free membership here today.

I had been very interested in getting online before I found WA, I had taken a number of courses including Brendon Burchard's Experts Academy [took the free trial and returned it to him, ty] and was led to believe it would cost thousands of dollars to get online. Then I saw a review of EA by Nathaniell that made me laugh because Nat had summed that guy up very quickly and cut through the bs and introduced me to WA, which I soon discovered allowed me to get online professionally and easily and costs nothing really, by comparison.

Regarding my username, I had no idea about the 'other' Moz out there when I chose this as my WA username. So I was blown away when I discovered the coincidence and like to see it as a sign of great future online success :D

In the end I modified it to MozMary so people wouldn't confuse it with the brand name Moz when I make comments in here, though I have uploaded some pics to show there were Mary Moz's around in the 1940s!

The pics on the profile are of the forest beside me, so when I go for a walk that is the beautiful view. It is Lough Key Forest, Ireland. And my new profile pic shows a cat walking on a stairs, but is it going up or going down? :)

WA has the best online resources for training and optimized high end hosting and at the best price, and as someone who hadn't been earning for a few years due to illness I really appreciate the opportunity that Kyle and Carson provide to everyone in here, equally. There is no big financial outlay and no upsells that I have to buy into 'in order to make it', I have the chance I need right now.

You will notice I complain about the rank system from time to time. Some people get obsessed with their WA rank and post a lot of material on the platform just to boost their rank - it's called gaming the rank system. It means some people of high rank in here don't know anything at all about the platform or training, they are just active, while other people of high rank [and low rank] really know a lot and are a-maz-ing. So don't believe high rank is important, right now it just reflects how active a person is. You will soon find out who knows their stuff, a bit like everywhere in life :)

Best wishes and enjoy the training, you now have access to the best resources for building a website and business online.

Update July 15th, 2017:
I congratulate people on their real success in their websites and online ventures that produce results, their wins in learning and their page rankings in google and the SERPs but NOT any in-house rank games in the community.

**I'm not going to tell you WA rank is important or support any silly blogs calling mere facebook-type activity a 'success'.**

**True success is you succeeding online, the reason you join WA in the first place.**

**Don't forget why you joined an affiliate marketing training platform with high end managed Wordpress hosting!**

btw, I had a life before WA, several degrees, first class honors, double and triple firsts at university level, setting several records, full research scholarships, real universities, real success - and the secret to high success includes knowing the difference between merely being 'busy' and actually being 'productive'.

Medical error nearly killed me some years back, and so I got knocked to the bottom of the food chain. Iatrogenic death is actually the #1 killer today, not cancer or heart disease, now THAT is a reason to have a blog ;)

It took time to crawl out of the medical bin, and having survived against the odds I just don't have the patience for bs, and yes you'll have to wade through it at times in here, but I'm here for the resources, and I encourage you to focus on them too.

Thank you for your update on your bio. I feel the same way. I am new and trying to find the best path to success on here and I know to stay off the dashboard and live chat. I don't get any value out of either of them. Not saying someone else can't, but it's not for me. I try to follow people that are steadily progressing in the real world. I want to build a strong group of WA friends.

Thank you, Mistia!

There are some really solid people in here, providing great help and training. The dashboard has hit an all time slump the past few weeks/months but I try to scan it once a day to see if anyone has asked a good question or posted a good blog or training. Some real nuggets show up from time to time and the exchange can be great way to learn, so just a heads up to keep an eye out for the occasional nuggets. I don't open most posts now, I just go either by the title or the person. But you are so wise in what you said, and it's really great to meet a like minded person.

There are too many good member trainings to list here but make sure to check in on the profiles of people like jvranjes, marionblack, boomergp08, and of course magistudios. Using the search bar center of page can bring up extra training too, though I'm hoping they upgrade it so we can find all of them easily.

Thank you MozMary. Gotta question. I'm so new at all this even if I find it so incredibly fascinating. Wow, your accomplishments are pretty impressive. Sorry about all that you went through. Is everything ok now?

Would you kindly tell me what I'm supposed to be doing when someone follows me. Do we follow each other. Told you, I'm new.
I shall do whatever it takes to move right along with this program. I have wasted enough time and money on scams this year alone.
Thank you in advance for your help MozMary.

We don't have to follow or return follows. I random click some newbies to introduce myself just in case they need some help but really the follow thing doesn't really mean much at all.

You can catch up with what is being posted daily by scanning the activity dashboard. It's a big and varied platform, people post anything they like, sometimes it's good sometimes it's rubbish. You can take a look at people's profiles and what they write and see if you genuinely want to follow them. People are going to answer your questions whatever.

This platform has excellent resources but the likes and follows and rank stuff can really distract people - so there's your heads up, learn to navigate and best wishes with the training ;)

Hello MozMary, I find your profile very interesting, helpful and informative. Good advice presented. I agree with your point regarding rank showing basically how active a person is. Since being still fairly new here I have tried to be active in reading others posts and responding mainly to get to know others and get a feel for those who do know their stuff and those who do not, I am learning the difference the more I peruse around here. On occasion, I have been guilty of engaging in some nonsense as well. I try to be supportive toward everyone if I can. I have noticed my rank has increased but I really am not concerned with that. Your point is spot on, we are here to become a success.

Much of the work I'm doing now is offline, preparing content in word or other, trying to research and sort through just how I want to implement what I am learning. So none of it is really showing up much for now here. That likely does not make much sense to most, it's just my way of going about things. I am still trying to gain confidence here.

I can appreciate your struggle back from serious health issues to overcome the odds. When we are put in a position to make us realize just how short life is, it does tend to make one appreciate what is really important in life and puts us on a short fuse for nonsense. Your experiences and accomplishments you have shared are impressive indeed. No doubt you are a success already and well on your way toward even bigger succes. I would be honored to follow your inspiration here and learn from your example.

Hello Cindy, nice to meet you! You have great focus and what you are doing does make sense, that is fantastic. You will gain confidence pretty fast here, just follow through the training and look at the weekly webinar replays, also some members have great training too, you'll get to know them.

Some of the best people you'll ever meet are milling around in here, and we all have a bit of fun interacting, the social side can be great, I'd encourage everyone to enjoy themselves and get to know others and make friends, but there's no doubt that social side and rank aspect can be addictive especially the way the rank system is set up, strange things can overrun the dashboard at times and people can get frustrated, so I like to keep grounded in the good stuff!

Hi Mary. Thank you for your beautiful reply on my question. I'm so glad that you are courageous and fought. Illness can be such a tragic thing. My husband was told a few days ago that he has Lou Gehrig's and has 2 to 5 years to live.
We will be getting a second opinion for sure. But we also think they are wrong as his old injury always gave him a low nerve response in his leg. And he also just had a new injury 2 months ago which caused him lower and upper back injury and a bang on the left side of the head.
The Tests could be reading what the injury is doing to the nerves. Even if the second opinion agrees with the first we still won't be convinced totally.
But it's still disturbing when you're told by an expert and you're always going to go back and forth with some doubt.

My only option is to try to prove them wrong. One thing I do know it that with the Lou Gehrig's there is no recovery. It's all progressive muscle failure ending in a horrible death of respiratory failure.

I put him on a anti inflammatory regime 3 days ago. And since I do laser for pets and know the benefits, I have been lasering him while he sleeps since Friday night. Already there is improvement which is not supposed to happen with this disease.

I won't stop until I stop breathing!

I am in Ontario and so far all the holistic centers say that they can try slowing it down but there is no cure.

But I will find out some how what is going on. The other thing that is throwing them off is is voice and pronunciation is bad that started after a cold. But today I noticed it was better where I could understand him over the phone for the first time in two months.

I don't know what to think. So reaching here in WA may give me some good direction just like you are offering.

Thank you Mary. And do pm me your valuable information. I know that everything can help.
I feel that you are very well informed.

Warm thoughts.

Thanks Jen. I was told I'd have the worst symptoms of organophosphate poisoning, gulf war syndrome and severe 25% group ME, that I was 'unlucky' and that there was no hope and that the top specialist's own dad died of what I had very quickly - but as they say in 'real' medicine [unfortunately called 'alternative' medicine] - no one has the right to tell you stuff like that or say that you are going to die, talk about a nocebo!

As for your laser treatment - would you believe a top alternative cancer clinic is using laser with great results for cancer [and cancer is closely tied to the immune system], maybe if you tune into that TTAC series you will see the guy using it and check if you are using it at therapeutic levels for a human.

As you see already your very first efforts are getting results - the body will respond to the right things - and his injuries could very well either have led to a wrong diagnosis or a right one - sometimes autoimmune conditions just need a trigger - however, they can be switched off.

What I've learned is you have got to stop the progress of illness fast, get any deterioration stabilized, because every loss of function is harder to reverse - you are dealing with the disease, the causes, and the progress...it's a learning curve because as you've seen the docs usually just manage symptoms and let it deteriorate.

I can think of some docs in functional neurology that may be better at testing him, will PM you.

Yes I am very well informed, there was no one who could help my condition - I was in a state worse than death for many years with a body so weak I could not sit, stand or lie down - no one can imagine how painful that is, zero rest 24/7 x 365...and with all body systems breaking down real fast - I was so ill no one even wanted to speak to me, no one wanted a dying patient on their hands, so I had to train in master herbalism, nutrition, massage, hypnotherapy, and functional medicine all at practitioner level, though I only learned this stuff to survive and for my own illness. I've heard people mention Lou Gehrig's in passing, but I paid no attention to it because I didn't have it - they were talking about getting results with it ;)

ps I also did Gerson therapy early on, that bought me time to work on the illness, there are many stages to winning a war...

Hello Mary,
And THANK YOU for a great post update bio... you are ABSOLUTELY right! People get "lost" in the euphoria of this wonderful community and tend to forget why they came here in the first place - totally agree with you!
I am really glad to have you on my network and look forward to grow, learn and share of my knowledge with you and the rest of the community.
I hope your health issues have been resolved...and wish you all the great success and enjoyment this wonderful WA journey offers!

Thank you Orion, it's wonderful to meet like minded people, it's a big platform and I constantly need to remind myself not to get distracted. There are truly wonderful people and wonderful resources here :)

It's surreal to be able once again to take a trip to the beach and a walk in the forest picking wild raspberries on a sunny July day after a decade of not being able to go outside or do anything, building health is an ongoing process though ;)

Hello, Mary. Thank you for following me. Sorry about the time it took for me to return the favour but I was so busy building my website. I am now following you.

I figured out early on that WA activity boosts Rank. I don't care about numbers. While I was busy and not active here, my rank stood at 1100 ish.

Good luck, Mary.

Hi, MozMary.
Paul Mindra here from Ontario, Canada.

Thank you for inviting me to be a part of your network. I graciously accept by following you back.

Rank, to me means very little. I have gone from top 200 to 30,000 and back to now 560. The rise or drop in rank did not increase or decrease what I continue to learn here.

Iatrogenesis. I hope I am not becoming a victim.

I have an auto immune disorder that has come a long way as prescriptions are concerned. From nsaids to dmards to systemics and now finally biologics. The biologics seem to be doing there job...but the side effects...wow.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ancient Greek painting in a vase, showing a physician (iatros) bleeding a patient
Iatrogenesis (from the Greek for "brought forth by the healer") refers to any effect on a person, resulting from any activity of one or more persons acting as healthcare professionals or promoting products or services as beneficial to health, that does not support a goal of the person affected.[1][2][3][4][5][6]

Some iatrogenic effects are clearly defined and easily recognized, such as a complication following a surgical procedure (e.g., lymphedema as a result of breast cancer surgery). Less obvious ones, such as complex drug interactions, may require significant investigation to identify.

While some [7] have advocated using 'iatrogenesis' to refer to all 'events caused by the health care delivery team', whether 'positive or negative', consensus limits use of 'iatrogenesis' to adverse, or, most broadly, to unintended outcomes.

Causes of iatrogenesis include:

side effects of possible drug interactions
complications arising from a procedure or treatment
medical error
unexamined instrument design[clarification needed]
anxiety or annoyance in the physician or treatment provider in relation to medical procedures or treatments
unnecessary treatment for profit
Unlike an adverse event, an iatrogenic effect is not always harmful.[7] For example, a scar created by surgery is said to be iatrogenic even though it does not represent improper care and may not be troublesome.

Professionals who may cause harm to patients include physicians, pharmacists, nurses, dentists, psychologists, psychiatrists, medical laboratory scientists and therapists. Iatrogenesis can also result from complementary and alternative medicine treatments.

Globally as of 2013 an estimated 20 million negative effects from treatment occurred.[8] It is estimated that 142,000 people died in 2013 from adverse effects of medical treatment up from 94,000 in 1990.[9]

I am very pleased to make your acquaintance, Moz.

I look forward to learning, sharing and serving with you as we all move forward here.

Kindest regards,

MozMary Premium
Hi Paul, there's a lot can be done now for autoimmune conditions that go to the cause of the problem instead of medicating it. There's been a lot of progress within functional medicine in understanding the causes, and then there is also alternative medicine, places like The School of Natural Healing. There's a lot of free resources online with all of these, there even was an 'autoimmune summit' that airs free every year. I've had to enter the health niche myself, taken a lot of practitioner courses, I'm not a practitioner but I may be able to point you some direction for further resources, feel free to PM me any time.

iatrogenic death = death by doctor, but for sure you spelled out all the different ways they can do that and people don't even realize - it certainly doesn't go on a lot of death certs, I've had a lot of friends killed by being given the wrong meds or wrong treatment.
PMindra Premium
Very thoughtful and also insightful reply. Thank you.
My father (deceased 2013) was a doctor of alternative medicine.
I have done courses in homotoxicology to try to understand the bridge between 'traditional' and 'non-traditional' approaches to healthcare.

My son is moving into the 'Sports Medicine' Arena. I have two nephews practicing traditional medicine. I think that we all have to understand that the industry as a whole 'Practices.'

My current treatment for advanced Psoriatic Arthritis is Cosentyx.
It is expensive, but it seems to be the magic bullet so far. The side effects however are a bit of a concern. Fortunately I have a great relationship with my personal doctor.

The rheumatologist that has taken me to the cosentyx, I think, very soon I will fire.He just always talks about his prescribed medications being 'For Life.' He is old school and a bit of a quack.

You seem like a very sincere and honest person and yes, definitely I will PM you to find out more.

In closing I would like to say that the only time I want 'death by doctor' is when I request it and if it is denied...then right there lies in the hypocrisy.

Do you get what I mean?

Kindest regards,

Btw there is a place on your profile to list your websites and social media, we are not allowed do it like you have at the end of comments - the system could register that as spam and you could get locked out. I'm not sure the spam rules are made clear enough to beginners, but better to find out sooner rather than later -here they are

A-Moz-Ing intro Mary, Interesting I signed up under Nathaneil for pretty much the same reasons - he called out some guy as a wanna be guru (different guy from you, though) that I had asked for a refund for...and was refusing to give it..until I tracked him ..home address and all.

I thoroughly enjoyed your Profile comments on rank, thanks for highlighting what is important so we newbies don't think Low Rank always means High Value. As usual it's how we got there - like some people are born with money and some have started successful online businesses .... easy choice of who to follow. During my breaks from lessons I look forward to reading your blogs.

Sidenote: I started a week ago only concerned with learning; reading every word of the lessons and completing all tasks and it's been such a surprise to see my rank change so much day by day! After finishing the first 9 lessons and tasks my rank was about 10,000. Then just being in community replying Only to comments that helped me (saying How I was helped) my rank continued to move: day 4 - 9305 day 6 - 8265 day 7 - 7696. Day 7 went premium so this morning it's 1547. So I agree if you do the work the rank takes care of itself!
I did the first 9 lessons for beginners in 3 days and 10th lesson -going premium on last day of week. My rationale- If I went to premium right away I'd be so excited to do the lessons that I'd ignore the community! Which had sort of been an assignment to get involved - which I thought would be overwhelming. So as a breather I had several days to enjoy the community and connect with some awesome people who reached out to me - as you did with excellent advice. This is so comforting to us newbies!

Have a great day
MozMary Premium
Wow, I admire your focus and approach to such a big and potentially distracting environment!

Yes, it really works when we stay focused on our goals, it provides the resources and so true that some of the most amazing and helpful people you will meet are in here interacting freely.

Some of the people reaching out to newbies are just looking to pursue their rank with a charm offensive but some of them are top people who know their stuff. And then there are some you'll only get to know when you do the lessons and pursue certain topics, these people aren't so social so you will find them the more you work and pursue topics. Sometimes there's a lot to learn from the questions and blogs in the community and sometimes just type a topic in the search bar and you'll see some hard working members come up in there who have produced training and advice.

Feel free to check in with me any time, it's great to meet like minded people.

Btw, that's a great analogy of the old money vs new :)

Thank you for your honest review. I really appreciate your candid information, I'm just starting, feeling a bit overwhelmed by all there is to learn. However....a little fish named Dory has inspired me to "just keep swimming" so that's what I intend to do. One step at a time : )

MozMary Premium
Welcome on board, Juliane. Stick with the lessons, step by step. Then there are some good members producing extra training, that can be found in the search bar and when you get to know who is who you'll be able to go straight to their profiles and find their training there. There is an activity dashboard where people post a lot of random stuff, sometimes we can learn a lot there too, though sometimes it's a bit like facebook with a lot of random chatter unrelated to why we signed up, don't let the blogs overwhelm you. You may also receive a lot of emails, it is possible to filter them in your account settings.

Best wishes

Sounds amazing, the place you live! Well yes, I'd certainly have some tips for newbies, firstly don't get distracted by the rank system in here, you will soon get to know who is really working on their websites and who is merely being social for the sake of 'high rank', though there certainly is fun to be had at times, but the training and serious members are the ones to watch eg Nathaniell, Ivetriedthat, affilicoach, check out their blogs, also some good extra training by members like chrisscott, marionblack, boomergp08, and of course magistudios - actually there are a lot more. Don't forget the search bar brings up a lot of extra stuff. And go through all the steps in both trainings, it's amazing the nuggets Kyle puts in there when you least expect!

I do agree with you about censorship as the entity deciding this probably has a personal agenda. Especially if there is something with lots of lobbying power behind them.

Thanks! Wow, that's a lot of money spent on scams- but you can put all that experience to good use in Affiliate Bootcamp by writing up your own reviews using your experience, people will be glad you are saving them losing that much by falling into the same traps you did, and you can get paid to direct them to the good training here - which is not expensive and goes way past anything I've seen anyone else offer. Enjoy the training!

Thanks for following me Moz!!! I just have a question, and is why you are not facing as a real person, even your very good website doesn't show your picture, so it's no way to imaging you as a person, and I truly believe that if you let people know who you really are, you can add more credibility to your business. Just a humble suggestion.
