When I add one at the bottom of a post it automatically shows my email and other contact info. How on earth do you change that? I've tried resetting it. Need help. Looks unpr

It's because in your chrome you have autofill, you can just click no autofill. Go to settings in chrome, click on advance settings, under passwords and forms make sure auto fill is uncheck. Hope this helps. :)

I don't think others can see it either. Try going in from someone else's account and look at it again. Good luck, Tina!

I use fast secure contact form plugin, it works great and has the captcha code box.

OMG, thank you so much for this, I have been trying to find a good comment form with captcha for over 2 weeks & you have come through. I could kiss you! Thanks again, I put it on all my pages & posts.!

You go girl!! Glad to help out! :)

By the way, while I'm here...do you have a good social plugin...I use hupso share buttons plugin.

Yes it saves your info for your eyes only.

It's only visible to you. If you open up a private browsing window and check it you'll see the fields are blank.

I installed WordPress 4.0 and now my carousel of photos isn't working. Any ideas?

There are other problems too. Try to place an image left, right, or center when you added a caption. It's impossible. Get rid of the caption and you can place the images as in the old version. Crap update, if you ask me.

Now the whole screen scrolls down, which is disturbing to me
John

I've been messing with a bit. Got a bit of help and now it SEEMS to be working. As I was just telling a colleague, this site has turned out pretty much to be a test site. Going to start from lesson one and continue with my new one. I will be asking LOTS of questions. Thanks for reading.

I agree with bazboy could be the plugin as one of mine would not work and had to remove it

If its done by a plugin then the plugin has conflict with WordPress, you may have to try a different plugin or deactivate the others to see if one of them is conflicting with the carousel plugin

Barry

I'll attempt to address that soon. Thanks Barry.

Does the carousel works with a plugin? Then you have to deactivate and activate again, Loes

Have you tried re doing the code. Sometimes an update will degrade the code. I have an Adsense code in my header I had to re do.

Have to figure out the code issue. Don't do adsense. I'm a geek who as been socially delayed. Trying, trying to get back on the road to stardom.

In that case I would just try updating your theme. All of mine had to be updated for 4.0. Hope this helps.

Have logged out and log in again? That made my update work

I logged in two times today and it was not working. Ah. Just starting back up and backlogged with problems and having to reboot my brain. Thanks for responding.

I didn't have any problems, you may want to let tech support know.

Just spent close to two hours with a WA colleague. We installed WP Edit - had the same problems we had with tinymce. Installed advanced tinymce - same problems. Although she

As already mentioned below, this sort of issue can be caused by conflicting scripts from other plugins. Deactivate each of your plugins one at a time to see if any of them are the cause.

That's funny because I did exactly that yesterday and things are working a lot better. Thank you for replying.

Great advice. I should get back to basic troubleshooting.
Or is there a better editor than TinyMCE Advanced?
I;m following you Rob

Hi Tina, I've been having problems with the wordpress editor for at least 3 months have PM'd Carson about it but he said no one else had the problems that I had , I thought that by changing the browser I was using would solve the problems, it did but only for a couple of days the problems that I am still having are as follows, 1, When I go to edit a page or Blog or post the kitchen sink doesn't always appear or occasionally half of it does the text page will ot always be available, the Media button is not there I cannot get the review button to work all these things are spasmodic not always consistent its not a browser fault because it happens on all browsers some are not as bad as others but it is so bad I have almost given up on trying to edit my websites its very for my moral and my progress at WA in fact I am considering cancelling my membership because of it I would be very interested if you do solve the problems , because I love WA and dont want to leave but if this problem cannot be solved I cant see any alternative but to leave WA, I have PM'd Carson on a few occasions but haven't really got anywhere he seems to be at a loss to explain it an can offer me no permanent solution, personally I think that a plug in solution must be available if you get Tiny MCE to work please let me know and I will Try it.

Ray Bowley ( Merryman88 )

I did some work with Barry aka bazboy247 yesterday and one of the things we discovered is that I had too many plugins activated. We went through and deactivated several and then activated only the necessary ones. He called them "conflicting plugins."

Also, as far as the kitchen sink features, if you go to "Settings" on the lower left part of your back office and then click on "TinyMCE Advanced," assuming you've installed that plugin - if not you'll need to do that. From there you can drag the font size and style tabs, media and a few other things right to your kitchen sink. I hope that makes sense. At first I was bewildered, but I just went in and tried it. It works.

I've tried to get some input from Carson a couple times and his responses aren't very specific. They are general to say the least. But I wouldn't quit WA just yet. I'm finding lots of people here who are willing and excited to help.

Try what I suggested and then PM me with your results. I can give you some names of people who really know what they're doing.
Cheerio

I seem to be having the same issues as your post. Did you get it resolved and can you suggest any help? Thanks

I had the same pb with TinyMCE and this is because it is not supported for the latest version of Wordpress. TinyMCE Advanced seems to be the plugin replacement of choice for many people and it works fine for me. All the best!

My other recommendation would be to start this same question but in the title mention Genesis users-having problems with WP edit. I know there are several WA members that use Genesis.

Does Genesis have a support forum that you can contact?

You need to activate the buttons again, then it will work fine. The choice of font sizes is limited but you can manually edit
John

How do I activate the buttons again?

While I doubt ill be very helpful here I know there have been some problems with the newest wordpress updates 3.9 3.9.1 etc. but also some of the themes broke with tinymce. does changing the theme have any different effect?

I use Genesis, which is not one of the themes WA offers. I hope this is not the problem because I love it. I would feel uncomfortable at this point changing themes. Afraid formatting and content would be skewed and perhaps even parts deleted.

genesis is a paid theme right? i know there have to be other people using it, hopefully one of them pops up and lets us know if they are having problems

I was having the same problems before I updated.

Ok I have just installed tiny MCE advanced and it works fine I can change the font size, I went to tiny MCE settings and dragged and dropped font size tab into the menu and clicked save changes

Questions - What version of Wordpress are you using
2. Try deactivating other plugins one at a time to see if there is any conflict going on this is usually the cause of the trouble

Barry

Will attempt. Are you familiar with the Genesis theme?

Yes I use it myself

I have just installed tiny MCE advanced on my site which has genesis theme ant it all works OK

Okay so I'm following 293 Wealthy Affiliate members. I have 364 following me. I tend to not follow everyone who is following me. Should I be? It seems as if some may be fly

All up to the individual. I follow whoever follows me, and that works for me.

There is only enough time in a day. It is up to you how you network. You can change your account settings to adjust your email notifications.
But what really makes my day is when I can be of help or when I receive a PM asking for help. The reward is priceless.
Since I type fast, my mind can keep going if I don't say stop. But I do try and flutterby and like what I read and write when inspired.
Welcome to the conundrum of following and following back. ^_~

It's not a numbers game, quality over quantity. Follow whomever you wish I am following people who aren't following me and on the other spectrum, I have people who follow me who I haven't added. *shrugs*

I can't fathom why anyone would take it personal or deem your actions as being a "snob". Am I missing something???

I don't read them all - especially the questions as I know I can't help them at this point so it makes no sense to make them go and look when there is no good answer for them. I scan the posts and sometimes I comment and sometimes I just like, to show that I've read the post. Not everyone writes either.
I'm sure not everyone follows me either.
Pam

Pick who you like but I don't undersrtand about the emails I get all my notices right here and its not that many I did turn off the emails going to my main email as they did get a bit much. Anyways enjoy your day!

There is absolutely no rule of thumb and follow far less people than follow me. Don't worry about it. Focus on what you need to do. :) Beverley

That's your choice. Doesn't make you a snob.
John

That's a personal choice. As bazboy247 has said, you can select the emails you want to receive in your account settings. Personally I follow everyone that follows me first. The only time I will follow someone first is if I add them to my Google+ circle and I am not already following them.

Tina, you be the judge of what you can handle. Follow the people you want to hear from, don't worry about who follows you, they are usually just bystanders. If they really want to connect, they will answer your posts, and try and make an effort to get your attention.

If you go to your profile page and click accounts you can select the emails you want to receive or not receive, so you don't get hundreds of emails a day
I don't think anybody will worry about if you follow them or not, we are here to build a business, this is not Facebook
I look forward to hearing all about your journey, I am here for the long haul by the way

Barry

I agree with Barry - you're not here to brag about how many "friends" you have. It's not about numbers here (not in the follower sense anyway).

Follow people who you think you can a) learn from or b) help.

People in return, will follow you if they think they can a) learn from you or b) help you.

I do follow a LOT of people (and I get a lot of emails every day) - but I regularly click on Follow if someone has tried to help someone I already follow, or asked another question on the back of something someone I follow has asked about.

All the best,

Mark

I'm here for for a world tour. Best of luck to you.

Within my niche I'm faced with literally hundred, perhaps thousands of affiliates. Is this normal? Or should I be loyal to just a handful so I'm not spreading myself thin?

From what I have learned so far, I think it would be best to start with one or two. That way you can get the hang of it before spreading yourself to thin. Just my opinion.

Something else to keep in mind is payout. If you spread yourself too thin among Affiliate provides, you may have a hard time hitting minimum payout. Know what your minimum payout time is too.

Thanks for the q&a, this actually helps with a question I posted earlier :)

Hey great question ---I will PM you !!!

Hey Tina,

I think it really depends on what you are trying to accomplish with your website. If you have the choice between several affiliates and they are all offering similar products, choose the affiliates that convert the best and then the next consideration could be commission. People usually get this backwards and focus on the highest commissions first. But what good is a high commission if the vendor is not very good at converting the sale?

Also, another factor has to do with what you said about spreading yourself too thin. If you go to a company like Commission Junction and sign up for hundreds of affiliate programs and you don't do anything with them, they're going to start dropping you over time due to inactivity. Your best bet is to only sign up when you are able to incorporate the product or service into your website.

One last consideration is to not flood your website with too many affiliate offers, otherwise the Big G (Google) is going to have something to say about it by way of adverse rankings to your website.

Best Regards,
Jim

Nice advice. I'm going to examine it more closely tomorrow when I'm not starving to eat a late dinner. A little confused about the Commission Junction thing because I did sign up with them. I think I'm leaning toward choosing just a few affiliates and sticking with them and perhaps throwing in the loyalty card to grow my business???????

You are fortunate to have such a selection of affiliates. I would play around and see which ones you like best. My thought is when you find one that is converting well, you could think about using it the most, most affiliates give a higher commission the more $$ in sales your site sells ;)

This is a good opportunity then...it means it's popular...you need to find non-competitive keywords.

What's your niche?

I'm providing information about non-toxic and safe spa products - the beauty and health categories. I don't sell hot tubs, seems a lot of folks think that's what I'm about. I'm also working on threading in resorts and retreats as a long term goal. I'm working with Amazon, Puritan Pride, Castle Bath and Tara products. There are so many more. Want to provide the best information without offering products that cost a fortune.

ALERT. I meant DON'T cost a fortune. Typing faster than I'm thinking again.

You should be good if you're using the keyword tool to find low-hanging keywords.

Sorry, I've just reread your question and I get it (doh!)...

Every post/page you write could be a disguised sales letter for each affiliate program - I can see this being advantageous if your affiliates are well known 'WA Review' for example because then you'll be catching people at the 'buying stage' of cycle.

You could always experiment with different ones and track the ones which convert better?
