Just older. Waiting to be wiser, so I make a point of learning everyday from my experiences, my reading, my blogging, my commenting here and everywhere. Everyday we see and hear, taking time to ponder, taking note, at least most of us because I think a lot of us are in a hurry or too busy to pause and reflect or even make that phone call, write or visit. I have learned most from my grandparents, my parents, my sister, my nieces, my nephews, my cousins, my friends, my sense of belonging even when I find myself being so alone, because the memories we made together are forever.
'Just trouble', my father would say, then hug me and wait for what I was thinking. He was a commanding man, which taught me to say what I think, what I know, what I learn and most of all be; who I want to be, what I want to be, and find what needs to be done to get there.

That reminds me of when I was just a little freckled face boy trying to keep the tractor straight sitting on my dad's lap. He'd say "Now Randal, just keep that tire straight down the middle of that furrow and I'll watch everything else." The next summer we'd be up at Yosemite floatin' down the creeks on the tube that was in that same tire. Ah, but those are some great memories!
