when I login to the Rubix site manage, instead of going right to my admin site, I get a math question to prove I'm not a robot. After I answer the question, I'm asked to sign

Hi Diana, this does not affect me. Irv.

I have not yet encounter this so far

I'll bet you are using the WP plugin called Jetpack. That's what caused the same thing to happen with me. I deactivated it and the login worked the way it is supposed to. ~ Mike

Might be a case for site support, I'd click on Support and put in a ticket if I were you.
This shouldn't be happening......

I don't have any login problem thus far. I just checked it out and it brought me straight to my dashboard. Uuummmm...what could that be? But I'd love to answer the math question, though. I hope you got it sorted out by now. All the best ~Betcha

Wow! Math problems to login to your website. What next, Science quiz? Contact support right away. I had an issue with my members not able to login to my website a few days back. Support said it could be a functionality issue with my plugin. Maybe you have a hosting service functionality issue with wp theme or plugin. Well good luck, hope it gets fixed soon.

Possibly WordPress log In itself is having issues independent of Site Manager. I have had a couple of issues with this at random. It may clear up within the next few hours. I would suggest a reboot, observation in the next few hours and Support check. I am putting in a ? to alert the community to get some of our experts on board.

I just log in, and it works fine.

Diana that is very strange. That has never happened to me. Maybe you do have a bug. I think if I was you I would send this question to our support staff. Good Luck and I truly hope this is cleared up for you soon.

Rubix Site Manager is working fine for me. I tested it now after reading your post. I'm not sure what is happening with your site Diana. No doubt you have rebooted your computer but, if not, I suggest you try that. Hopefully the problem will clear soon for you, or someone else will have a remedy.

That's a little alarming.

I have never experienced this or heard of anyone else experiencing this.

I would contact SiteSupport on this matter.

Are you using jetpack?

I used the HTML table generator suggested in a tutorial here. I pasted the html codeinto my page text editor, but I don't know where to find the style.css page in my theme, so

This should help with creating a child theme

Thank you Marion! That training will be very helpful. Much appreciated.

The style.css sheet is located in the Wordpress sidebar under "Appearance", then "Editor."

Generally, once you've selected "Editor," the style.css sheet is the sheet that WordPress opens first. If not, you can select style.css file in the sidebar on the right.

***Be advised, however, that if you make an edit to the style-sheet here, then it will be over-written the next time you update or change your theme. It is generally not advised to make changes to the CSS using the editor like this unless you are using a child theme and are quite adept at its functionality.

Yep, well said Jeff! Agreed!

That sounds like good advice. I'd just add that you can use the Child Theme Configurator plugin to create a child theme before doing any monkeying with css to avoid over-writes.

Thanks for the suggestion. A plugin would be an immense help!

Thanks Jeff. I'll try to figure out the child-theme creation.

The variety of products we can review is endless, but I'd appreciate help with understanding the concept of ranking products. In Course 3 Lesson 6 Kyle introduces us to writin

There is also your own opinion, it is not all based on what others say.

LOL! Exactly. I feel it's important for me to have some personal knowledge of the products(s).

Hi Diana,

I believe that a product should be reviewed by comparing it to other similar products.

This way you can note the pros and cons of two or more products at once and then leave a link to each separate product below or within the review.

This is how I think about reviews:

A potential customer usually reads a product review because they are looking to find the best product to buy out of a group of similar products.

Usually a customer would read multiple reviews and compare each product to each other using those product reviews.

My thought: So why not combine both the review and the comparison together so we can help the customer make a purchase easier.

Absolutely. Thanks Josh.

I usually look at other reviews of the product and similar products to determine my opinion

Thanks KatieMac.

In any review I do, I like to compare several products of similar type. If I am just reviewing a single product, I rate it on a scale of 1 - 10 with 10 being the highest rating. In comparison rating, I like to do a full review of all the products, good, bad and ugly, before I rate them. It's even better if you have the products, in my case, usually food products, to test and use before rating them.
In my first post, I took apart the ubiquitous 'mac and cheese' boxed dinners. I may have been unkind, but I let the product speak for itself. I believe that, in the end, that's all we can do. It works for me anyway.

Thanks Bigbroian.

no probs.

Look at the benefits of the product to the customer. You can then ask directly or conduct a survey to determine their preferences and rank from there.

Okay.

What I've been doing is reading the reviews listed on Amazon and making up a summary of what they say about a certain product.. The reviews you see on Amazon are far more credible than what you see directly from a merchant. Amazon cherry picks nothing. They publish the bad reviews as well as the good ones.
On my review summaries I might say "Most customers thought they got a good deal. But there were also a few complaints from dissatisfied customers. Some customers said they were expected larger pieces and a larger board. Others complained about felt coming loose from the pieces." On my chess sets page I specifically tell the reader that I decided to omit a widely available standard wooden set because I saw too many complaints about the product. When I see reviews on Amazon where customers say they think the product they bought is better than another they could get, I might say "Some customers thought such and such chess clock is better than such and such."

I would suggest being very careful with Amazon reviews. Although Amazon doesn't cherry pick reviews, the star rating it gives takes a range of factors into account, including the accounts that gave different reviews, rather than the reviews themselves.

There are also a large number of companies that sell positive Amazon reviews. Perhaps the biggest example of this is eBooks. You can find many eBooks that have dozens or even hundreds of 5-star reviews, yet are actually completely horrible.

I have gone beyond the stars and focus on what people actually say. If the number of available reviews is small I inform the reader of this fact. If it's very large I tell them that and summarize what is very common in the reviews.

Thanks KDClover.

Excellent examples. Thanks much!

LOL! Okay, thanks for the warning.

I believe you put the ranking base on your own judgement. IF you have several products, you can rank them in accordance with your preference. If you have 1 product then you rank it base on how you feel. One method is you can use the pros and cons to help you the rank, that is my opinion

Thanks Vincent.

The criteria I use is based upon the key features they advertise. Then I add two more of my own: Ease of Use and Customer Service.

Take Shoeboxed, for example. On their website, they boast about their ability to handle receipt organizations, business card management, expense reports, mileage tracking, tax preparation, and magic envelopes (mailing your documents to them to be scanned).

For my review, I assessed the programs ability to handle receipts, business cards, and expense reports, plus ease of use and customer service.

I typically review software. However, if I were to review something like Nike shoes, I'd do something similar. I'd head to their website and pick 3 items that they boast about, then a couple of constants... like comfort or variety of styles.

That's my method. However, I don't think there is a wrong or right method. I say come up with a procedure that works for you.

Really good question Diana as I have been wondering the same thing myself! I'm very interested to hear what people say! :)

Great question. I didn't know that either. Thanks for asking

Please simply click on the airplane Icon upper right

Thanks Frank.

Good question; apparently the answer is the plane.
