I am using the Divi theme, so I asked them first before I came here.

I checked your site out on mobile and it a little slow loading but works just fine.

If you are using the Divi Page Builder you have different settings for every element of the page/post depending on how you want your content to appear on different screen sizes.
With Divi you need to do some editing and adjusting to everything you post from Site Builder.
I use Divi on Site Rubix and it works perfectly, but you need to dive into the settings of each element to make it right.

Thanks, that's what I do while I am using the builder. The phone view is perfect sometimes but messes up for no reason a lot of other times.

I see you have resolved this issue, just had a look at your site on the mobile and it looks very good!
Good luck - SF

Thanks, no I haven't resolved it. You must have looked at on one of off times that it works. Thank you for checking it out, though.

I have Divi and I am reluctant to use it unless you have a specific needs or niche that souly runs on its own hosting services.

Siterubix isnjust another extension in WA to help all of us to get started using Wordpress. There are still improvement works to be done to make the whole framework on Wordpress and siterubix flawless.

Then again Divi is a well deserved WYSWYG software hat sit on top of Wordpress and now we are applying on Siterubix - which would become a challenge on certain viewing from difference devices - especially once a developer already set a cast and stone to work well with their product - they don’t really change them often.

My suggestion - create a brand nee page and use it souly on Divi and if you can just use Divi and DIvibinky concepts. Don’t mix with siterubix - that would be my take.

John.

Ok, thanks. Yes, I haven't any trouble with Divi on other servers.

Most welcome and giood night to you.

I would inquire of the Divi Theme help desk They might know something else!

Tried that first, every time they looked it was fine.

Deactivate all your plugins and see if the problems persist. It could be that two plugins don't play nicely together.

Thanks, Marion, it's fine on PC or desktop. Could plugins do this with just mobile view?

Yes, because when your site is viewed on a smaller screen the position of everything changes.

Give me the link to your site and I'll have a look.

I'm not seeing any problems either on my desktop or my mobile phone. It does take a few extra seconds to load on the mobile.

Maybe the problem is with your mobile device and not with the website.

Thanks again Marion, I thought that too, but I have checked it on a few others as well. But maybe it isn't happening as much I thought.

Hiya Gail. I use Divi for all of my sites and I've never noticed this problem before. I'll definitely be watching for it though.

You might PM ShaneWelcher though... he's pretty awesome with the Divi theme.

Thanks

Why can't I connect the Jetpack plugin? It comes up with this error - "WordPress reports no SSL support". I thought this hosting was SSL supported.

What plugin would anyone recommend for feeding my posts to facebook please?

You can try Social Media Auto Publish. There's also a plugin specifically for Facebook called Facebook Auto Publish. Both of those automatically feed your blog posts into the social media channels.

Thanks for the info. I'll check them out

Hmmm, I didn't know that it was banned. Thanks for asking the question and thank you, Rich for your reply.

Wayne

Jetpack is banned on WA hosting because it is bug riddled bloatware! See Carson's comment here:

Thanks, now I know.

No probs. you're most welcome! :)

The Jetpack plugin loads the servers...

Forget Jetpack. No longer supported by WA!

Do you know why?

This post explains K&C's position and repeats what Rich has already told us!

Jet pack is one of the few that WA doesn't support.

JetPack has 20+ plugins in one bundle and tends to slow down site speed and has too many outgoing connections.

SSL is supported here. Have you enabled it?

In SiteManager, click on the "Details" icon box next to your website. Then scroll down the page that opens and you will see where you can enable SSL on your site. ~Jude

If I have Jetpack on my site but have it deactivated, does it still cause a slowdown? It was included by default on the host I was initially using.

Ok, thanks for the help.

Hi Jude. I'd like to know if I should delete the plugin or just leave it deactivated?

A deactivated plugin's scripts continue to take up space on the server. If it is not used and not updated, it can leave a security hole. Best to delete it. ~Jude
.

Thanx for getting back to me. Your advice is appreciated & will be taken! God bless & much success!!!

You're welcome. Post again if needed. All the best. ~Jude

Whatever people say I like JetPack but it's not allowed here. I use it on a site not hosted here and it helps me greatly.

totally agree with you

Jetpack is not a good plugin. I would steer clear from it:)))

Is there anyone else from Australia having problems when setting up their Google Analytics?
There is no Australia in the country drop down where it tells you to accept the T

Hi there
I can't answer this one.
However if you cant find a solution , I suggest contact support and they will offer a solution for you
cheers PB

Hey Gail,

Doing a quick Google search for "Google analytics doesn't offer Australia in their Terms of Service acceptance list" (without the quotation marks, of course) and look what I found:

https://www.en.advertisercommunity.com/t5/Google-Analytics-Account-Access/Cannot-find-Australia-in-the-google-analytics-Time-Zone-and-ToS/td-p/1131695

https://www.en.advertisercommunity.com/t5/Google-Analytics-Account-Access/Why-is-my-country-not-listed-for-Google-Analytics-TOS/td-p/1124112

Hope at least one of these offers you a resolve.

Thank you for going to the trouble, I did this first and found this but none of those people that asked the same question has had an answer. Thanks again.

CHANGE YOUR IP NUMBER TO ANOTHER COUNTRY MAYBE IT WORK

Thanks, will that cause problems for everything else?

I don't know but you can also try statcounter.

Thank you, I will look into it. I have used Google before and have had no trouble with it. I don't know why it has changed.

Is it possible to put a "coming soon" page up while working on a website? If so, how?

use be back good luck

Create a page where you will write "Coming Soon" or "Under Construction" or any other messages (you may include a photo).
Then set it up as "Static Front page"

Great, thanks for the info.

Thanks for posting this question....I was thinking aboit this too today :)

Add plugin maintenance, select one you like.
Press active.

I prefer just writing a post or page that says coming soon with a statement or two about the purpose of the website. And invite the visitors to come back.

Thank you!

How about saying something like, "Stay Tuned!"
Wayne

I have got a coming soon & maintenance mode plugin from Seedprod installed! This works great, you can ad any background with logo and a written text if you want!
Just go to plugins, add new and type in "coming soon & maintenance mode" and you should find it! It's free !

I really like this plugin. I have used it when doing a large update to my website that might take a while. It's so easy to toggle on/off.

Thank you, this is great and exactly what am looking for.

Sorry I can't help you but I am looking forward to finding out.

Great question.

Sharon

Just write a "coming soon" post and publish it
