I'm a retired expat living in Salinas, Ecuador. I live two blocks from the beautiful Pacific ocean. I'm originally from PA, and no, I don't miss the cold winters. Life here is very laid back, and I need some good intellectual pursuits. An online business that can boost my income would be a wonderful thing. I had a website back in the 90's that failed and need some sound advice on how to start again. If you are considering retiring to Ecuador please contact me. You can learn from my mistakes!

Hello RDoren!

Isn't this wonderful!!! living in Ecuador two blocks away from the Pacific Ocean and WA at your fingertips!! All this sounds like the best of two worlds - I can imagine those cold winters are a precious memory -).

I see you finished course four! This is quite in intellectual accomplishment! how is your online business getting along?

Wishing you a great weekend and happiness and well-being in Ecuador.

Henriette, how nice to meet you! Thank you for the good wishes. I'm now at Course 5, Lesson 6. I need to kick myself in the bum and finish the training. The e-mails are relentless and many are informative. They should not be ignored. They are however, time consuming and add to my workload. My online business at this point is still developing. It all takes time and does not happen quickly. I live alone and I've got all the household duties to contend with plus the internet work. Anyway, it keeps me busy. I gave you a follow and now I'm off to read your profile. Bob

You have made a very good decision by joining the community here at Wealthy Affiliate. Follow the training and you will find it to be very informative. I believe you have made a good choice to start again and Wealthy Affiliate is a very good resource to receive all of the information you did not receive before. I've only been here a few weeks myself and have already learned a lot I didn't already know. If you're 100% serious about making a go of it again, I feel this is the place to be.

Thank you. I appreciate the encouragement. Wealthy Affiliate definitely puts us on a sharp learning curve. Back in the 1990's I paid a woman $2,000 to build a site for me. Can you imagine that? Two grand! I pay monthly to Wealthy Affiliate, but I got my site up and indexed for $150? Can't beat that with a stick. I gave you a follow, and thank's again my friend. Good wishes. Bob

Good morning Bob,

I can understand you do not miss the cold winters, I do not miss the sad Dutch weather either. I left there when I was just over 15 and consider it a foreign country. In the south of Spain life is also
nice and easy, still I have seen a change over the many years I have lived here, we are getting modernized or perhaps I should say Europeanized. For certain things it is good as at least the famous word manana has nearly lost its negative meaning, the electrician will show up tomorrow.
Thank you for the follow and good luck.

Regards, Taetske

This is also the opportunity for me to know about my networking people briefly.

Hello, Robert...

Ahhhh, a fellow expat! I am orginally from MN and have been away since I was 17...I do visit relatives plus fishing up there, and generally cross into Canada as well, because I have a lot of relatives there too...

Right now I park myself in Dubai and Germany, and travel for business to other parts of the world...It sounds like you have established yourself in Ecuador well, I can'[t read too much into what you have written, but i am sure you would not stay if ot were not so...

Wealthy Affiliate really has most of what you need to get started, and I know you realize that, you have been here awhile...It does take constant effort though, I have ecperienced that...

It is good to meet you and I look forward to hearing how you are doing, and also I am interested in Ecuador too....It must be a facinating place to live!

Cheers and good to meet you!
Dave : )

You just instantly made a friend. I was going to tell you that I envy you having that good looking young woman sitting next to you in your profile picture. I love women with brown legs and long dark hair, and big brown eyes. That is ONE of the reasons that I am in Ecuador. The MAIN reason I am in Ecuador is the low cost of living. I am a financial exile from the US. I can live a satisfying life style here in Ecuador as opposed to the US. I got into WA as a means to improve my income and lifestyle. I thought that Dave SW meant Southwest US. Surprise!
Anything you want to know about Ecuador I will try to tell you. I have been here 3.5 years on the coast. There is a big difference between the coast and the highlands. A huge climate difference as well as a cultural difference. Contact me by e-mail at rvandoren@msn.com Best regards, Bob.

Hi, yes I live in Kearny Nj in between Newark and Jersey City. Thank you for following me :) I would love to stop waitressing some day, hopefully. That's why I am keeping at this because I am tired of it and eventually tablets and electronic ordering will be taking all our jobs, it's started already, so sad.Much success to you in "2017"

You are a good looking gal, but remember that the world is cruel to older women when they loose their looks. I have a 52 year old daughter and a 13 year old granddaughter. Thank god everything is good with them. I'm talking to you from my heart. Your job is good now, but not forever. Work and plan for the future. Blessings, Bob.

Robert ,

Thanks for following me back. I would love to retire in a foreign country to maximize my retirement lifestyle. Well that's why I here, I using WA as a vehicle yo augment my income in retirement (10 years to go).

Maybe one day you could start a site about living abroad in Ecuador and find a way to monetize it.

I could certainly find many things to talk about, but the monetizing doesn't seem good at this time. I'll think about it. Car rentals, B&B's, hotels, restaurants, tours, doctors, lawyers, etc. Seems like I would have to put my own network together. Thanks.

Hi Robert,

I enjoyed looking at your site. I wanted to let you know that the links to the products you listed here are not working:

http://collectiblegemstones.com/star-sapphire-and-ruby-when-the-stars-come-out-page-2

Perhaps it's just a page under construction? At any rate I did enjoy the articles and learned from it. How are you making out so far with it?

Take Care!

Thank you for looking at my site. There is something wrong with my links and I haven't figured it out. Amazon replied that they could not help. When I update the Word Press page they go from active blue to black. Not all though. Some stay blue and active. If you copy and paste a black link into your browser it will redirect you to Amazon. I worry that people won't do that. Now that you have brought this up I will ask support if they know what is going on. It happens on every affiliate page I publish. I gave you a follow. Thanks so much.

BTW I'm on course 3, lesson 10. I'm 90 days in WA and getting some traffic to my site, but not enough yet. I'm close to publishing another review of some great cabochons that are low priced but beautiful. That's what started me off when I was a kid. I'm going to hit many price ranges in my reviews. Best regards, Bob.

I'm well into course three myself. It's hard not to get overwhelmed with all the info here. I have to remind myself to do the course and wait on all the extra training and info here.

Yes, you should reach out to Kyle here on WA. Perhaps he can help you with the link issue.

I wish you the best of luck with your site!

Thanks Tim. I totally agree. Right now I'm struggling to publish a post and a review. Until you do this over and over it requires a lot of thought and I always seem to run into certain problems. I have 58 e-mails right now mostly from WA members. If I'm going to get my work done I need to delete most of them. Cheers. Bob

I'm with you. I read a post from someone very successful here that said we must push forward when everyone else has quit. For many that is after one month. For others it is after course three. Or perhaps after six months. We cannot give up!

The other vital bit I remembered from that post was to create more content than you consume. In other words, don't let TV, our phones or games distract us into consuming too much content or being distracted. Actually push through and write that post! Jot some notes down about it. Create an outline.

Don't worry about getting that post perfect. Think about your niche and what inspires you. Think about someone standing in front of you who's interested in your niche. What would you tell them?

As far as the emails, I wouldn't delete them. Just set a goal of answering just a few a day until you're caught up. In just a few months I've established some great contacts and veterans through WA who are helping me. You never know who your next mention will be.

Send me a private message anytime.

Keep in touch my friend.

Tim

This is what I started doing. There are people I follow and quickly read their blogs. I delete 90% of the other blogs. I always reply to a follow. Today I have around 85 e-mails because I was busy yesterday and today with a long post and affiliate page. It's overwhelming and I can't allow that. All my links are now active on any affiliate page I've written thanks to On My Own Terms! I need to send her a big Thank You.

Robert, you just commented on one of my questions so I came here to read about you. Your FB comment was what I feel about it but I guess if we want to go places we have to use it. I usually just do a skim every few days.

Ecuador, hey. Well like Australia is to Canada I guess Ecuador is to Pennsylvania. Tasmania is a good between for me.

Do keep in touch and if you need help just ask.

Thank you Helen. I wasn't on the net at all yesterday. Today I have 85 e-mails to plow thru. I always answer the new follows or private messages because to not answer would be rude. I am determined to complete a lesson today. Reading all the bogs; although informative, can be counter productive. If my site and lessons were complete it would be different. I use FB here to monitor expat events. Occasionally to wish birthday greetings or see if something important happened. I have not gotten to the social media part of my training and I'm curious to see what my reaction will be. I think we need to open our mind to the fact that there are millions of people using FB and not concern ourselves with their motives.

Hi Robert,

Ecuador must be a wonderful place to live. I am also an expat (from Scotland originally) but I have been in S.E. Asia for the last 7 or 8 years. I haven't lived in Scotland for 20 years. Anyway, if you ever need any help just holler (I think that's what you Americans say right?) :-)

Hi Robert,

Or do you prefer Bob....with nine grandchildren in NY, I don't think I'll be spending anytime in Ecuador. But, I hope like it.

I joined WA about a month ago, and I have been working on it every day. I enjoy the training, I hope do too. But, the community is fabulous. I hope you have found that out to be true too.

I wish you every success.

Hello Robert,♫Welcome! Nice to meet you ツ I wish you a lot of learning pleasure and fun on WA. Thank you for following me.

From the start, I have written training for every issue I had problems with myself. I also made a list of 1001 niche ideas, a checklist with 25 points to go through before you publish a post, 101 blogging ideas when you get stuck and an A-Z WA dictionary. I just love lists:) It has been very helpful to a lot of people. I have listed them in one blog you can find on my profile. It's the first website link on the right (click on my picture to get there). I hope to help you with those.

If you have any questions, please add a comment to this message or leave them on my profile.
Success building your business in 2016. See you around, Greetings Loes

P.S. If you get a chance check out how the training helped me to build my websites. My latest one on how to boost your retirement income just went live a month ago and the one on sleep apnea has been up for almost four months now. You can find the links on my profile page. Any feedback or comments would be greatly appreciated.

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)

Hey Robert, I wanted to stop by and personally welcome you to WA. Rest assured everything I mentioned about them is true :)

Whether you're here to build a business, a website or just want to learn and make money online, this is the only place that will show you the best ways to do it.

Here are my 2 quick recommendations on getting started out the best possible way:

1. Please complete your account sign setup. This is just a simple 1 minute process that will better help myself and WA know more about you and your goals. I'd like to get to know you better and help you get going.

2. After you've done this, check this page out: (I think Kyle or Carson already recommended this). This is where everyone who joins WA should begin as it will explain everything.

The course is the most important part of WA. It will guide you to success!

And that's it!

Believe me when I say this stuff works. Just follow the instructions and if you have any questions Robert, feel free to leave them by just posting a reply here. I usually respond within 24 hours and will be more than happy to help you out!

One last thing I want to mention:

Currently you're a Starter member of WA. This is completely free and you can do a lot of things such as build 2 free websites, get access to training and the online chat, among other cool perks!

If you see that WA and it's training is something you'd like to continue, I would highly recommend upgrading to the Premium membership. It's usually $47 per month, but if you sign up within the first 7 days of joining WA...

1. You can get a 59% discount ($19 for the first month).

2. I'll send you my personal guide to Reaching Your Financial Independence in 2015. This guide is based on my EXACT profit generating techniques I've used with WA. If you are serious about online business, you need to have this. :)

3. You get access to my personal support, 24-7. If you need help, you can be sure that you can fire any questions my way. I have been in the Internet marketing world since 2006 and have likely seen it all! In short, if you have ANY questions, you can come to me anytime and I will help you out (if I can't, I promise to find you the answer). You can count on that.

Certainly this is up to you Robert. For now just check out the recommended things and see how it works out :)

Talk to you soon!

Hello Vitaliy, Your blog got me to this point. I cancelled out of Digital Altitude yesterday. They made me sign a non disclosure statement, which is why I didn't comment on your blog. I spent many hours going up to Step 10, but they didn't teach me anything about starting up in this business to test their system. They really don't want to teach you anything unless you pay the $1997 up front. Then they pushed a $10,000 seminar in Vegas. A mastermind program. They are not interested in people who first want to make a few thousand dollars and then move up. And it is MLM. They want people who will pay big bucks and then hope that the deal works out. I can see why you don't recommend them.
