Hello everyone,
Should you only blog about your niche, or is it ok to blog about other things of interest on your niche blog site.

In my opinion you can write about the philosophy or spirit behind the service and examples of the great service of the coffee shop related with your craft website service.
Does the coffee shop pay you in recommending it? It must be your own coffee shop. And I would support you write anything about it.
Just my 2 cents. Maybe you can add a paragraph or two about the great coffee shop you appreciate on your "About Me" page and how you love coffee and/or coffee shops and/or great customer service that truly fulfills the words "Have A Nice Day." :-)
I've done it on my travel site. On some of my articles, I mention other activities I've done after the horseback riding trip.
Hi Sharon,
I think you should blog about your niche, but that's not to say you shouldn't address things that surprise you about your niche. Things that at first glance don't seem related but in fact are.
For example, I have long covered back and foot pain solutions. Recently, however, I was intrigued by people who are born with an insensitivity to pain. Is not that they are indifferent to pain, it's that they can't feel pain.
This may seem idyllic but it's really hell. Someone with insensitivity to pain won't feel his bone break but will have to live with the results--usually that means ending up in a wheelchair.
You see, Sharon, pain is a way for the body to warn us that something is wrong and stop any action that will harm us more--like making us pull away from that boiling liquid that's just too close to us.
So all though my niche involves the management of pain, I was take a bit back when I contemplated what life is like for those who don't have the ability to feel pain.
In short, I think it's fine to pursue things that may seem unrelated to your niche but really are the other questions about your niche that haven't been asked.
I would say that primarily you should blog about your niche but blogging about yourself and what you're doing in your life now and again also reveals more about you as a person and builds trust with your audience. I'm not sure whether there's a definite right or wrong here. I'd be interested to read what others think too.

Yes, you write about your niche and everything related to your niche. I t doesn't need to be a textbook. You can compare that great coffee shop with other ones that are not doing well. You can as well write about their product and environment. Just do a proper keyword research you will get many good keywords to write abou.

Hey Sharon,
Is your website hosted here at WA?
I checked your profile to go and visit your website, but you have not completed that portion of your profile. Without actually seeing what you are describing, I'm not sure any one can help you.
Does your theme offer a ad a the top? If so, then check Appearance > Customize to see if you can find it from there.
Here too is a post offering different things for you to try: https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/add-remove-from-wordpress/

Do you have a screenshot of the page with the pesky ad? Was it the result of code you added to your "header.php" template?
