Hi there,
Hello to all out there in WA land. I'm just getting started and can't wait to get up and running. I am looking forward to have a website online as soon as possible and hopefully it will become productive and flourish through the WA platform. I live in Ireland and with the world being such a small place today through the internet, I am looking forward to connecting with all the WA community, regardless of whatever part of the world you live in.
I am currently employed and this is my Plan B. I am doing this p/t for the present and my goal is to be successfull, proficient and hopefully to make some money as well. I aim to work at this for approx 1-2 hrs/day and see where it takes me. I will strive to work diligently as planned with my new venture for the first 12 months and hopefully, it will be a success. Here's hoping you all in the WA community have the same and a lot more success as well.
I wish to point out that it says above that I joined WA in 2011, that is correct, but I would like to add that I dropped out for a few years and rejoined again in Dec. 2016. So in effect I am relatively new to all of this again. I hope that clears up any mis-understanding.
Looking forward to talk to some of you in due course. I will tell you more as we go forward.

UPDATE 26-06-2017....Hi there again folks, ( 6 mths on )
This is just a quick update as to where I am now and how far I am in terms of website completion and how the business is going so far.
As of today Mon 26th June, I have approx 70 posts and 7 pages and I constantly update my website with approx 2-3 post each week. Along with this I am doing the Social Media posting also and each and every week, I am working onwards and upwards towards getting the website ranking and indexing improved.
Thanks again...more updates later.

Thanks.

Hi again, Philip (you wrote feedback for me). Just wanted to say welcome back to WA! I also took a leave due to an injury but am back in full swing now. I joined in September of 2016 and left from May through August. I'm delving into the training classes and the wonderful community here. It's great to be back and active! See you around and thanks again for my nice review!

Hi there again,
I thank you for your sentiments, just to explain......
I did join way back in 20011, but I left again shortly afterwards..
So I rejoined again in Dec. 2016 so all in all I am here approx 9 months.
So therefore I am a newbie again and I am now starting to find my feet again
hope that clears up any misunderstanding.
Best wishes to you both here at WA

Good afternoon Philip,

I was reading what Linda was saying. If I understand correctly you are into gardening? well, I am too. I have been doing that since I moved into my ruin=farmhouse in 1981. Lots of work, it never stops. Still, what I have built up I now enjoy.
In case you need a good source for writing do have a look at my WA post on the Spanish priest and the world library, you might find it helpful.
Thank you for the follow and good luck, Taetske

Just came from your site I really enjoyed myself there.I see your from Ireland what is your growing season. I am way over here in BC Canada. Panting is in the first 15 day of May. We have had a lot of water this year this will bust the season.
I will not be planting this year but the three tear box I will be putting in time permitting I still have good time left to do that in Herbs are a lot easier to grow. in or off season they will come back next year.

Hi there again Linda,
Thanks again for stopping by. Our season begins on or about the 1st week in April, again it's all weather dependent. If March was reasonably dry and mild, a lot of the preparation would have done in this month. Generally after all of the frosts have dissappeared ...mid Apr or so, then we start planting.
I agree with you that the three tiered planting box looks very attractive and appealing. Its a great idea and gives many choices for growing herbs or salads.
Thanks again,
Cheers again, PB

Hello Philip

I have been to your website, and I must say, I love it, I tried to leave a comment but it seems there is a problem, here it is I copied to this thread.

Hi Philip
As I am not really a garden person due to all the fuss and bother of it all, but after reading articles on raised beds, here on your website, I have had a change of heart,

I like the fact that a raised bed is much more manageable than an open system, and it could be located anywhere on one's property where there is Sun and sometimes shelter, depending on what is grown.

Your website is easy to navigate, written in an easy to read style and good use of visual materials.

It is clear that you are an authority on this subject as it shows in the way material is presented here on your website.

Well done Philip, you have made a Convert of me.

All the best with your future endeavors.

Phil, I have been commenting on your site and I noticed something I forgot to mention. You should categorise your posts.

Here is Labman's link to his tutorial. There are more in the search for help box.

Hi there Helen
Many thanks for your help
This is something that I am considering, but if you would'nt mind if I ask a question back, pls.
Suppose that I categorise all the posts under different headings or under digfferent months etc etc
Are they then removed from the home page and buried away deep down on my website...
As they are now, anyone can see the different post on the various topics that I have written about..( I hope you understand my question )
but if I was to categorise them, they are then not visible to the visitor...
Thanking you again in advance
Cheers.......PB

Phil no it won't bury them. What I did was set my site up with a static home page and a post page. And I categorise, except when I forget to, my posts. Have a look at my tutorial on this. Before you try anything have a look at my site. You can find that link at the bottom right on my profile page. Have a play with it to see how it works.

Along with this set up I have a widget, called categories, on the right side of my posts. In my case I have it as a drop down. This means people can click on the word categories and all appear. Then click on the category they are interested in and they appear.

You can also select to view all categories. To me the way I do it,looks tidier. But that is personal opinion.

ps

(You should put your site link on your profile too. Then people who come to follow you might click on it and add a visitor to your site. Do this by clicking on the Follow Me On button. You can put your social media links here too.)

Phil, I have the link for Ester Dean's book. It looks cheaper but with the exchange rates between Australia and where ever you are plus the delivery cost I don't know how this group compares with Amazon.

The book is well worth it and if I didn't already have it and had browsed it I would have paid that amount.

Hello Philip,♫Welcome! Nice to meet you ツ I wish you a lot of learning pleasure and fun on WA. Thank you for following me.

From the start, I have written training for every issue I had problems with myself. I also made a list of 1001 niche ideas, a checklist with 25 points to go through before you publish a post, 101 blogging ideas when you get stuck and an A-Z WA dictionary. I just love lists:) It has been very helpful to a lot of people. I have listed them in one blog you can find on my profile. It's the first website link on the right (click on my picture to get there). I hope to help you with those.

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

A niche can honestly be anything, what are you passionate about? What are you interested in?

When deciding on a niche and trying to narrow down to a more specific niche, I recommend you ask yourself the following question:

I want to help people that ______________.

Fill in the blank and you are going to be much closer to a specific audience. After you do this and if you want to run any further ideas by me, let me know and I will give you a hand. :)

Hi Phil, thanks for the follow
i see you have been a member since 2011.
i take it you are starting again, which if you are is brilliant. i have been where you are - looking for a plan B but for me my plan a collapsed before plan b came into being.
definitely worth going through with, especially with a niche you are interested in - gives you something to look forward to do after work.
you can also start planning at work for what you are going to be doing that evening, makes the time go quicker.
it is not a race, everybody learns at their own pace, in their own time. getting content on the site consistently is v. important in googles eyes, so if you are not producing a lot of content schedule it for every two weeks or every month, even if you write a few pieces this month and you can't produce for a few weeks then use the wp schedule to post on the same schedule.
good luck with your online journey

it is very easy to let things slide little by little, but if you write down why you want to do this and have it pinned up then it is a constant reminder of your why.
one thing i read the other month is how to make a million dollars - very simply
impact millions - affect millions of people and you will become millionaire if you help them - even if they only buy one thing for dollar you will be a millionaire.
so find out what your niche needs, what problems you can solve, and solve them - don't know, then look on forums on redditt or other places where your niche hang out.
take it at your pace but keep moving, it is difficult but the end result will be worth it
good luck

imagine yourself sitting at the computer blogging, leave it at that and see what happens. your mind may come up with the answer.
sleep on it and keep a notebook on you, jot down what makes you smile, you look at, makes you look twice.
something will come up, in the meantime look around you or pick something on the top 100 off amazon and keep going through the training, use the siterubix sites until you find something that you go - yeah that's it - but don't wait till then to go through the training. you need to start writing about something.
once you get going it will get easier, we have all been there.
try for at least 10 minutes of writing every day, published or unpublished doesn't matter get into the routine.
as you are, use any help Kyle gives you.
