Is anyone familiar with the plugin "MailChimp for Wordpress"? Does anyone use it?

Thanks in advance...

T

I am using it and not having any problems

I guess that it didn't work well something else that I installed. Support informed that it was definitely the problem so I had to delete. I really wanted it to work out!!

Glad that it is working for you!!

T

Hello mikewood1975 I would like to know how you did use mailchimp.

The reason is that when authenticating my website only the fist one was ticked.

The second one you must create a cname, dealing with the servers configurations. I do not have an idea of how to do it.

I also did contact the site support to do it for me. Maybe something is not good from my side.

Also heard that use use mailchimp plugin could you explain how to use it.

I was having this issue for a long time now and still not resolved it.

I am using the optin forms plugin and using mail chimp as the email provider to send newsletters. I only use this on 1 of my websites for now.

Hi, Tammi...

I use MailChimp with some of my tools, and it works well...I do not leave leads on that AR, however, because I use a front-end tool and an SMTP service.

You can have support check out the plugin for you, but the one I use is not giving me any problems, and I do use it on a couple of sites that are hosted by WA...

Cheers!
Dave : )

Thanks Dave. I contacted support and they are checking things out for me. I really hope that I can use this plugin.

Thanks for your response, I have a bit of hope!!

T

Cool! : )

PatsyC here at the WA did a whole spiel on all things like this and said this came up on top of the rest and I believe she said it was free with limitations but it's like an all in one deal, check it out. I couldn't find the post, though I booked marked it I can't find it so here's the website. If you are interested in it talk to her as she had a link to it.

https://www.benchmarkemail.com/email-marketing/Features-Signup-Forms

I am pretty sure that it is the one that is giving me problems. However, there were 3 others added yesterday. I am going to delete 'MailChimp' first and see what happens!

How's things? Long time, no talk...

Talk soon!!

T

I sent this question out to my blogger big dogs list, only had 2 replies and both said the same thing, One uses Aweber but said it's expensive but works flawlessly, the other didn't say...kind of a jip but hey at least they responded.
Things are good, great and cah-cah all at the same time. Super drained and tired as per usual sleep patterns and deprivation but I got my whole webpage Googled up from the feet up! Analytics, Search Console and some other of the Webmaster tools, Got all but 2 social platforms left to integrate, got a new blog written up, just have a few final touches to apply and should be published tonight. Other than, just killing like a villain on penicillin. Getting closer to the money!!

Sounds like you have been a super-busy-boy!! Thanks for sending out the question. It was the plugin that was causing all the trouble. I guess that it didn't play well with others...LOL!!

When you find the path to the money, let me know. I am not doing very well in that area. I have to get something going...soon!!

I am trying to add my site name on Pixabay and it tells me that my URL https:www.mycoolaffiliate is invalid. Any ideas

How can you expect anyone to tell you what's wrong with your URL when you don't show us exactly what you put in at Pixabay?

Try ALL of the following:
http://mycoolaffiliate.com
https://mycoolaffiliate.com
http://www.mycoolaffiliate.com
https://www.mycoolaffiliate.com
mycoolaffiliate dot com (it gets converted if I type it properly here)
www dot mycoolaffiliate dot com

I went back about an hour later a copied the url there and that time it worked. Must have been a glitch?!?!

Thanks for coming to my aid!!

T

Tribulations has the best advice. You can't go wrong that way.

I am trying it one more time to be sure.

T

Hey Tammi,

You've missed the two slashes "//" ... the two between the "https:" and the "www.mycoolaffilate" plus you missed the dot com.

AND ... if your website is hosted ay WA, then your site will NOT have the "www".

To make this better/easier for yourself, always load your website and copy the URL shown in your browser's location textbox so that you will have the EXACT address each time you must submit it somewhere.

Hope this helps you.

Thanks but I loaded it from WA to Pixaby, twice. Must be a Pixaby problem.

I just put in the short form here.

I really wanted to help you but, I don't know the.answer. I wish you luck. I'm sure.someone will have your answer.

thanks Dd!!

Comes up perfectly when I add the .com to it...

I need to add a sitemap. Where do I find this?

Thanks...

T

Hey Tammi,

Thought Kyle covered this in the training ... but I could be wrong. Here's a tutorial for the one I use:

Thanks, I got it!!

T

Great question and something I needed to get around to doing, so thanks. Saying that though, I guess it is only necessary to do this when you have a lot of posts on your website?

Just gone through the training with Kyle. No problems.

I know that when you are adding tracking, it wants a sitemap.

T

Tammi, if you follow Tammy's reply its a piece of cake.

Hi Tammi, when you are in the site you want it for go to the dashboard then all in one SEO, then Feature Manager and you want to pick the XML Sitemap, I think it is all ready activated, if not activate it and go from there. It's really easy.

How are you feeling today? xxx

I am feeling better. Not 100% yet, but definitely better. No fever.

xoxo

T

That's good to hear that the fever has gone. Take it easy still though for another few days and relax as much as you can.

Did you get your sitemap sorted out? xxxx

Thank you...going there now!

T

You can add with the all in One SEO plugin. That would be the easiest ...

Thanks, but that is not working..any ideas?

Tammi, perhaps you have not activated the sitemap feature in the All in One SEO?

Go to Features > Sitemap and make sure it is turned ON.

Also make sure you have only ONE Sitemap. Some people end up having 2 - because Kyle made the Google XML sitemap video before the Sitemap feature was added to the All in One SEO and they have both activated. The problem is, they conflict with each other.

And some switch to Yoast and forget to delete the others completely.

For anyone using Google XML plugin, deactivate the sitemap in the All in One SEO plugin, or vice versa.

You will know the All in One SEO sitemap is working properly when you type the URL in the browser and don't get an error message:

yourdomain dot com / sitemap.xml

Thanks Jude, I am going to give this a try!!

Internal Links!!! What does this mean? I am getting this confused and I need to clarify.

Thanks

T

Simply links going to other pages in your site verses external links going to another website all together from your site

Thanks Okief..I got it!!!

T

Internal links are links (URL links) on one page refering to another page on your website.

So let's say you write a post about How to Play the Guitar and you have another post about How to Tune a Guitar you could add a link on your first page to your second page telling readers that if they want to know how to Tune their guitar they could read this post (Add Link).

The key is that the two posts should be related. You don't want to add a link on one post about How to Play the Guitar to another post about the Best Dog Food. The two are unrelated.

Hope this helps.

Yes, it helps. Thanks!!

Hopefully, with all the comparisons, I will be able to keep the two straight in my brain.

Thanks again,

T

You're welcome Tammi

Good question. Internal links are links within you website, referring to some other page of your site.

One thing that I am confused about is the "backlink." I don't know what are they used for and how do you set them up for your site? Hope anyone could answer that as well :)

Hi Haider,

Backlinks are links from an external website linking back to your site. So for instance, if CNN.com covers a story on your webbsite, they will add your website link to their post on their website. That link will link back to your site, hence the name backlink.

Hope this helps

Regards

Kevon

Thanks for the explanation, Kevon :)

You;re welcome Haider

If you want to refer your visitors to another page within your website because you don't want to repeat the content, then you can create a link in this page that connects to the other where the info is.
For example: if you have a review page and you want to make a reference to it say from another page, you create an internal link to reach that page. Its a shortcut for your visitors bypassing your menu straight to the point of reference.

Gifty

Thanks very helpful!!

T

Think of it this way in regards to your site, inside your website=internal, a link from one page inside your site to another page inside your site.
Backlinks are going back to the webpage you linked from to get to your site, that's how I remember and decipher the two.
I just don't understand how you get backlinks without paying for them.
Hope this little saying helps you remember. HA@WA!!! Actually, this is going to be my new tag #HA@WA

I like it!!

Not sure would love to hear a good explanation

Look below at Triblu's answer. I get them confused.

T

MCrimm has the perfect answer too!!

Yes, that is my understanding, also. If you link to a page or post on your website from somewhere else on the site, that's an internal link.
If you link to Wikipedia, Amazon or some other website outside the one you link from, that's an external link.
Steve

Thank you Steve, I get those mixed up all the time!!

T

Hey Tammi,

Internal link: "An internal link is a type of hyperlink on a webpage to another page or resource, such as an image or document, on the same website or domain. Hyperlinks are considered either "external" or "internal" depending on their target or destination."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internal_link

Hope this helps you.

It does, so much. I get the two confused. Back to my website...THANKS!!

T

I'm not positive on this, but I think it is when you put a link on your website that links to another page or post in your website.
Hope this helps, and hope it gets confirmed.

I believe that you are correct, I get confused on internal and outgoing!!

THANK YOU!!

Yes, I think you are right.

If you have the All-in-One plug-in, can you utilize Yoast as well, or do they override one another?

Thanks in advance

T

One will cancel the other one out, causing problems to your website, so you need to de-activate one or the other.

on my older website I have both installed but Yoast is functioning, can I eliminate Yoast and start AIOSEO without messing things up??

Yikes Ulrich!.

YES, your site only needs one of those plugins.

Its a wonder they haven't caused your website issues as most times they will conflict.

I got rid of one last night!!

Good question. I have been using AIOSEO and glad that your plugins didn't come in conflict.

I have my inclination on using AIOSEO to Yoast while upholding the value of both at par.

You can only use one seo plugin, if you use both your site won't rank, it has to be one or the other. AIOSEO achieves better ranking results than Yoast, which is why it's recommended in core training and comes pre-installed.

Thanks Rich, that's the one that I am going with.

T

No probs. you're most welcome! :)

Yoast is popular because of the interactive feedback, but this is really nothing more than ticking an automated checklist that you could easily do yourself from a sheet of paper, it has no effect in itself on ranking.

In fact, there are far better tools than Yoast for getting the best results with on-page seo, for example, Web Text Tool https://app.webtexttool.com/#/register-free

You must choose one only. They can not work together.

I don't know which one I want Melani, what do you think?

All in One is more simple. Yoast gives a lot of guidance for readability and SEO and very interactive. Both plugin can make the posts rank well. You should choose between simplicity or a lot of interactive guidances.

They both do the same thing, so I don't think you can run them together. Not sure why you would want to.

I prefer Yoast. It has a nice function that checks your post or page and let you know things that are missing or should be fixed for readability.

That's what I like about Yoast the most. Not sure how deactivating the all-in-one may affect my site?

Last I heard All in one trumped Yoast. But it's like comments vs feedback not resolvable easily in WA

I like the components of Yoast in the tracking field, but it may not work so well with All-in-One. I am using both!!

T

Using both is not a good idea.
It will most likely come to conflicts between those plugins and you won't even notice.
