Hi,
I am sending a lot of visitors to the WA site. Lots of unique clicks and content clicks and yet...No Referrals.
I dont understand what's going on?
On an Average
Faraz, I used Bing Ads too. Out of the 19 referrals, only one created an account. I spent $100.00.
OMG! I am going to pause the ads now and promote something else. Dont want to waste my cash on this. I'll just promote WA using organic traffic. No more paid traffic.
I don't recommend spending money on Bing ads for promoting WA because you actually don't sell a product. You offer a free sign up and very few people upgrade to premium. I spent $250 and got only 2 premiums and each of them stayed here for about 2,3 months. I earned about $120 but spent $250. So, I don't recommend PPC. You can do it when you promote a product without a free sign up.
So true. I remember, you had already advised me earlier not to spend money on bing ads for WA. Truth is I got a $100 coupon from bing and that's why I thought I'd give it a try for the black friday deal.
I have learnt my lesson though.
Have paused all the ads already.
I am glad I still have about $60 still left in my account. and will promote something else. If you have any suggestions at all, please let me know.
These guys below (comments) know more than I do about traffic things...:(. But I know that you need to "fine tune" your strategy and that will make A BIG difference. Those who "fine tune" move out of the crowd in any fields. Keep going you will get it, Jeff
How are you sending them here? Are you selling the idea to them enough on your site before they click through to WA?
Conversion rate is mainly influenced by the moment you catch your traffic.
If you catch random traffic it will have very low conversion rate. It's like throwing "something" on the wall and looking what will stick ;)
if you manage to gather more focused traffic it will have higher conversion rate.
If you manage to catch almost buying traffic it will convert very highly.
Go read Kyle's The Customer Purchase Lifecycle
well, the traffic I am getting are those searching for wealthy affiliate and wealthy affiliate reviews, so that's highly focussed.
Can't find your site's name on your profile,
What does it mean a lot of traffic ? where do you see it ?
in google analytics or in here at WA (in referral data)?
Because in google there might be a bogus traffic that you are not aware of - i am having 30-50 clicks per day that are just fake bots that need to be blocked.
Do you know your bounce rate from those pages or clickthrough?
Can you manage to gather some feedback through site feedback ?
Maybe you lack some credibility ?
More independent reviews ?
Maybe someone could look at your writing style (i am not an authority in this case ;)
My site is only 1 month old so not really an authority at all ;)
Just trying to help :D
Well, actually I am using bing ads to send traffic and that's the reason even a little bit of traffic seems like a lot.
The truth is I sent about 34 clicks to my wealthy affiliate review and all of them clicked through to the wa site and even clicked on the WA content I linked to.
Therefore, I was wondering that if they are so interested and checking out all the links I mentioned why didnt they join- even as a free member??
I know that people are clicking on the links and the content links because I am tracking each of those.
At present I am trying to make a few changes to my article and even adding some things that might be lacking.
I havent put my site on my profile or put it in a blog post here because then I'll be getting a lot of visitors from WA then and it'll become more difficult to track what my prospective customers are doing.
Nice work ! 34 clicks!
Well you know how it is with statistics...
If you take 2 man and one is 180cm and other is 200cm then statistically both are 190 cm tall but not one of them fits that ;)
Here they say that conversion is ~12% so let them soak and marinate :D
It might happen that next 100 will not join at all, and then from another 100 will join 24.
Small sample, maybe they were just checking out your site (as competition and WA as their competition ;)
or maybe black friday will help them with decision.
But congratz on your 34 clicks its is more that my organic traffic made for 1.5 months :)
P.S. Do you have welcome letter prepared if they decide to join - so you will sound more professional.
Then make another if they decide to switch to premium etc.
I also don't have any referrals till now although I have my website to promote WA already for three months! It depends on how much luck you have in life! It's like fishing- if you are lucky, you'll catch a fish and if you are not, you won't!
Normally, if you get 100 visitors a day you can get up to 40 free sign ups a month. Sometimes less, it depends. This month so far I had only 25 sign ups. I asked Kyle and many other super affiliates and they all told me that this is how it works. This is very normal. But if you don't get any sign ups at all then something is probably wrong with WA review. You should get sign ups. Give it a month or so.
Hmm,Thanks Rufat.
That makes sense. I havent sent more than 100 visitors yet, but there are a lot of content clicks. Maybe I just need to be more patient. I was just thinking that maybe I'd get a sale because of the black friday deal going on, but didnt even receive referrals yet.
Life is unpredictable. Just imagine, I have 280 pages of content and I'm getting 100 visits a day and still I'm making money. With such a lot of content I should be making by now $2000-$3000 per month and getting 500 visits a day at least. But I'm still struggling. I have no problems with conversion. My problem is traffic. You know better than me that all sites convert differently and two sites with the same number of pages may get different amount of traffic. The solution like you say is to be more patient.
Wow! That's a lot of pages.
I only have a few pages of content at the moment.
Long way to go.
I just have to be more patient and keep working at it.
That's really a lot of content. Is your site all promoting WA or does it promote other products and/or sites also?

You can use custom link. In the links & tracking page at your profile, do you notice that you can create custom link?
There is a 'create custom link' button. Click it, and then choose ' cutom Tracking'. You will be given two form to be filled: the first is the URL (the link of WA content that you want to be tracked, and should already contain your affiliate ID); and the second is Tracking ID. You can fill anything to the Tracking ID to identify if visitor click this link.
After that, you can also use Pretty Link Plugin to cloak your affiliate link, so you can track how many clicks the visitors give for each cloaked link.
This will provide two analysis: how many click your visitor give for each link in your website, and how many of them converted into referral at WA.
Aha! Thanks for the info! I used the cutom tracking and got back an even bigger link.
Searching for pretty link plugin from my dashboard gave me a pretty link lite plugin and maybe it will try to sell me pretty link pro.
Is there another option?
or maybe there is some other pretty link plugin?
You're welcome :) well, most of people here ar WA use pretty link plugin, including myself. I don't really know if there is a better option though. Sorry.
By the way, you can also learn from this amazing training created by boomberg: How to Create Custom WA Affiliate Referral Links It has useful information about getting the most of how to use your links & tracking at WA :)
I'm using the lite version and satisfied with it so far. I don't see the benefit of using the pro version for now though :)
Okay, I have setup the pretty links lite now.
Also used the custom tracking links inside WA, but am unable to see the stats when I click the button next to the link I created. ( this is the custom tracking and not mylinker)
Could you give any idea why I am unable to see the stats?
When I click on the stats button I get taken to the referral entrance details and not the stats.
So, what am I doing wrong?
HI Faraz, to the best of my knowledge, if a visitor come through your link and he then randomly check other content in WA, you can't track it that further for whatever other random links they click again in WA.
As far as analysis go, usually people want to know which WA links the visitors click the most at the website and what links that make them convert into referral. That can be done with the combination of Pretty Link plugin and custom tracking link at WA.
You will see which links converts into referral from the referral entrance details as seen in this example : Guest User Modal Whatever other content the visitor clicks after he landed in WA is usually never been bothered. However, I suggest you to PM Kyle if there is really a way to 'breakdown' the number of content click in your status.
This is my understanding......Clicks show that people have visited your content. I assumed that when someone finds your site in a search engine and actually clicks on your link in the search it is considered a click.
I had the same question! I noticed that when I look at google analytics there are a lot of clicks that are not set. It sure would be great to know. Hope someone has a good answer I will be watching!

I have written a WA review today and have used images in the article too.
Now, there is an option to put in alt text and caption for the images so I am not sure what to put
I always name my main image with my main keywords or header. I've read this generates traffic and Google likes it.
I agree with Loes here. Make it something people are looking for. If they do a search in Google images, your may come up and and they can lead the searcher back to your website.
Pisquali, I already know about using something people are looking for.
MY question is will it be considered keyword stuffing, if I use the same keywords for 3 or 4 images?
Thanks jvranjes,
Your training was very helpful.
There's just one thing I still have a little confusion about.
I have about 4 images, so do you think I should name these images as wealthy affiliate success 1, wealthy affiliate success 2, wealthy affiliate success 3, wealthy affiliate success 4 without any risk of being penalized for keyword stuffing?
I always add some more info, not just like that with numbers. Yes I use kw for several images. I think there is a video of Matt Cutts (which I cannot locate any more) where he says something like this.
A word or two about what image shows, and in Alttext I give 5-10 words without keyword if I have used it in file name. You will see some suggesting to use keyword in both places, this is definitely an over-kill.
When people are looking for images on google, they are looking with keywords, do you think they are typing in wealthy affiliate success 1?
When it's a picture like this ( see image) people are typing in, stand out from the crowd. Or multifaceted musician
Think as your customers for the alt section.
You can add wealthy affiliate success for the caption on your site.
well, I dont know about that.
and I didnt say people would search for wealthy affiliate success 1
I have to name them like that since I had more than 1 image and didnt want to give the same caption for all of them.

Just wanted to ask if this is normal.
I created a training resource a few days ago and reached Level 2,
But my earnings are still showing as zero.
Is this normal
They usually approve credits once a month and then pay the month following. So training reaching level 2 this month may be approved in October and paid in November. There is also a threshold (of $10 I think) before they make a payment. Give it time, they do pay :) ~Marion
Yeah, it takes a bit of time to get the payout. Once a month is what I've noticed, near the end of the month.
I have one in level 3, nothing yet :) they pay ones a month, sometimes once in 2 months, but they pay eventually, $5 for level 1 when you have reached level 2, $10 the next time when you have run through whole level 2, and level 3 I haven't run through yet, but I expect $15 then
You DO earn money from WA if your trainings reach different levels (levels are attained by the amount of "likes" they get) and if Kyle and Carson approve them. They will eventually get around to looking at it and approving it or not. I published a training back in early August, which reached level 2 within 1 week, and it was only just a couple weeks ago approved and I will receive $5 in October. It just takes a while, so be patient.
Hi - you don't earn any money from creating training - your Rank within WA may go up though.
Cheers, Mark
