About Paulgoodwin
Joined February 2015
Since 1960, I have been involved with music and audio equipment. It started in my mother’s kitchen by using her cleaning bowls as a drum kit. The next step was when I “borrowed” my father’s acoustic guitar (when he was out) and learned to play it.

At school, I made my first electric guitar and formed a group with the Headmaster playing drums. The fitness instructor playing rhythm guitar, the drama master playing bass and I played lead guitar. After leaving school, I formed my own group (as most of us did in those days) and was fortunate to meet and play with some great artists who are still with us today.

I finished school and served a four-year apprenticeship in Electrical and Instrumentation which gave me an excellent background in the basic understanding of the industry.
But little did I realise how my studies would come into play later in life!

My direction changed and rather that play the music I began to work with live mixing and studio recording. I was always able to get a great mix and had the ability to create a musical picture. The positioning and re-positioning of audio equipment in the listening room came naturally to me and was always ready to help friends set up their audio systems and paint that musical picture.

In 1970 my life changed when I lost the urge to become rich and famous. I joined the Oil and Gas industry which was a tremendous challenge, but at the same time very rewarding and allowed me to keep up with my passion, high-end Audio. At the beginning of 2015, the oil and gas industry became very slow which told me the industry wanted a rest and many things began to change in my life.
Vilnius, Lithuania is my home and at the end of 2015; I became friendly with a group of Doctors who were all Tannoy Loudspeaker enthusiasts. My new friends were always trying to get the best from their audio systems and when I was able to show them my “System Setup” technique they were impressed to say the least. My Doctor friend advised me to get a name for my cables and bring them into the marketplace. My friend said because my cables sounded so good, every Audiophile needed to know they were available. This was “Doctors orders” so to speak and then by some twist of fate, I found a Canadian company called Wealthy Affiliate with whom I was able to create a website and my journey began!

Success is very cumulative in nature. Every action you take will add up to a much greater success. I can tell you that when you earn your first money, it will all become very REAL and it will lead to much more success.

Personally it took me a couple of months to get there (to earn my first dime), but by month 6 I was earning a consistent income. That is likely what your journey will look like...stay persistent and ask for help when you need it. I am in your "corner" every step of the way Paul! :)

Sure you can Paul. I have not achieved the goals I wrote here a short while ago. In fact I've only been at WA a month or so and I've already made more (not fiscally) than I expected. I could not have gotten training and built a website like I have without spending a fortune elsewhere. I know the financial aspects will follow as they have for others and I also know I cannot find the tools and training that I have here anywhere else - I've looked and nothing compares to WA.

If you're on the bench, as I was, just go through the training and reassess after each course. You've nothing to lose but some time.

Hello Paul, I came upon your site while reading comments on a blog post today. It seems like a synchronicity since I will be visiting Estonia in a few days for a family reunion.

I am still finding my way on this site and not always sure what to do. You've made a start of it and so it will be interesting to hear what you have to say in future posts.

Paul asked a question today about why I have Four Web Sites that are under construction. So I thought I would provide a better answer than my first attempt. Of course, this answer may not be any better than the one I provide for the question "where does the light go when you turn it off". But here goes.

I now have five websites "indexed" with Google. The only pages on each of the sites is a Privacy Policy so far. Everything else is in my notes, my Bamboo Spark or Evernote, or my worst place to store things - my head!

Ready for the why? I am not completely sure which direction I want to go with "several" passions so before I forgot them or the domains were taken I registered the sites. I did two when Kyle had the "fire sale" on new websites. For less than the cost of a Happy Meal, I could register domains. I am working on ideas for all five of the sites. Some may survive, some may go away after a year.

This means that for every course and every lesson I am doing things five times. Since I consider myself to be a little slow on the learning curve (not intended to be a self-deprecating statement - rather a statement of fact), I thought this would be a good way to "practice" each of the courses and learn at the same time.

I may add even more domains, who knows. I think I should create a domain on Wealthy Affiliate members (like Rick of CosmicRadio) to show the world the abundance of good will, intelligent, problem-solving, creative, kind and sharing people we have in our community.

Not sure if that makes any sense to Paul or anyone else. But (here comes the self-deprecating statement) no one has ever accused me of being the brightest bulb on the tree.

Happy Weekend to All,

Steve

Paul if I have not welcomed you to WA Premium I am doing it now. I have read your bio and It is very interesting and also a bit distracting. Your experience with sound equipment can be very useful for a site. I see you have several already. My intention is to visit and make comments on them. For now, I am providing a critique of your content on your intro page. I like to critique content whenever I can and give helpful feedback. The feedback that most of us need is in the area of spellcheck. In a nutshell, my suggestion is to spellcheck your bio, etc. There are a number of misspelled words that has to be corrected for a purposeful meaning. I hope what I am commenting on will be of help to you Paul and please do take a look around at the words and decide to provide a check on the spelling. This is not meant to be a negative post but a useful one. I hope I have provided a useful way to enhance your sites content for now and in the future. Welcome to WA.
