After publishing my training a couple of weeks ago on ways to get people to join Wealthy Affiliate, see link below, I had several people ask me how they could create a custom WA homepage affiliate link. So I figured I would do a training that explains all 5 ways to go about creating custom WA affiliate links.

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/ways-to-g...

CUSTOM WA HOMEPAGE

To create any of these custom affiliate links you need to access the “Links & Tracking” section of your WA Affiliate Program page. To do this just click on the Black & White airplane icon just to the right of the search bar at the top of the screen. Then click on the Links & Tracking tab, see image below.

On the Links and Tracking page you will see a list of your affiliate links, see below image. Yours will look different than mine. You will not have the three links with the red delete buttons because those are the custom links I have created.

You should have your “Main Link” which is the WA Homepage before customization. Next is your WA “Premium Promo” and “Create Account” pages, (you need to be in Incognito mode to see what these two links look like). Then the fourth link you should have is the Site Rubix link.

To create your custom links you will want to click on the blue “Create a Custom Link” button and the “Custom Homepage Link” see below.

This will bring up your customizable WA homepage. Again, yours will look a little different than mine. Here is where you will add your campaign tracking name, your first name, your website URL, and your custom message.

As you are making these customizations, you will see them on the right side of the screen. NOTE: Make sure you are using a picture of yourself for your WA profile. You want to portray trust and people will respond and join an actual person rather than a faceless person.

Once you are happy with your custom homepage, click the green “Save Custom Homepage Link” button as seen above.

Did you publish or at least Preview the post to see if the widget shows?

Another thing to consider is the type of WordPress you are using. The widget is in html code and needs to be inserted within the html code area.

I did try the widget but doesn't show all the words is it okay? If it works, good because you don't have to copy paste every post am I right?

Seems like I don't know wealthy affiliate all about !!!

I meet one of my school mate and he became attracted to online business ,it was my pleasure to go a bit in brief try to let him understand the process.

After he decide that he can give a look within the wealthy affiliate program, I was to link him up and get him as my first referral ,but I didn't know How to Create a Custom WA Homepage for referrals.

I do complete sending him email through banner. Is this something done the right way ?

Thank you a lot boomergp08, I learn a lot from this training.

You can send him any one of your links. Click on the $ coin icon up top and take a look at Program Details and Links & Tracking. Both will provide you with links that will allow your friend to sing up under you. The links just go to different landing pages so you can send him the one you think will speak to him best.
Reply

You do not have to send a custom WA affiliate link. You can send your friend ANY of your affiliate links or the link to your WA profile page. They can join WA from any of these links.

I like this lesson. I have made the custom homepage, the custom signup, and I have used the "getting rolling" training by Kyle as my Tracking Link.
I am now going to use the SiteRubix plugin. But the question here: How would I place the SiteRubix plugin on my site content?
My site niche is football, so, how would I use these links to place on my website to get people to join WA? Can I place them on FaceBook and LinkedIn as posts so people can click on them an possibly join WA?
Reply
RoopeKiuttu Premium
Yes, you can share your Wealthy Affiliate links on all social medias as well :)
Reply
Nickoy Premium
Thanks, Roope. How do I attach a link to a training to an affiliate link that I have so that I can get persons to visit WA and become a premium member?
Reply
boomergp08 Premium
First off it is not advisable to promote WA on a non-WA promotional website because it is not relevant to your niche and relevance is a Google ranking factor.

That being said you can promote WA on a niche website but it must be done in a subtle way. There are only a couple of ways to do this and I explain how at the link below. As for using social media to place your WA affiliate links...Yes, you can do that but do so sparingly. You definitely DO NOT want to post your WA affiliate links on Pinterest or Google+ because you will get blocked.
Reply
boomergp08 Premium
Not all Roope. Both Pinterest and Google+ will block all WA affiliate links, even if you try to mask the links with a plugin like Pretty Links.
Reply
Nickoy Premium
Thanks for your advice. I will look into that training.
A question here: which one of the WA affiliate links will be most suitable to post on social media such as Facebook and LinkedIn?
Reply

i thought you could share your website posts on social media and those posts have links promoting wealthy affiliate. so we aren't allowed to share our links like main links, or sign up links on social media?
Reply

You can share all links on social media. This also has a condition that certain groups and communities on certain social media networks, will not allow affiliate links. But links to your website content are OK.

So I already know that my referrals are coming in through the links in my WA review, but I'd like to know which posts are the ones getting them to that review. Is there a way to track that?

Remember, the custom home page has nothing to do with your website home page.

The custom home page mentioned in this tutorial is in reference to the WA home page that a person will see when clicking on your WA affiliate link.

Hello Robert. Thanks for the great training. Well explained. One question though, I entered a tracking code and copied & pasted the plugin code, and previewed my site.

Where I pasted the code in the text editor, it reads "Bad gateway". Am I missing something here?
Reply

Hmm, where did the words Bad Gateway appear? Within the text editor, the visual editor or when you preview your website?
Reply
RWB Premium
When I previewed my site. I just retried it and now it's working. This time, after copying the code, I pasted & copied it in notepad to be sure there wasn't a highlighted extra space. I think thats what happened earlier though I tried it a few times then, but not before using notepad. Your help is much appreciated Robert.

But I don't understand how to make it appear like yours. I don't understand what to write in 'link to track' when creating the ID.

Please help. Please be more explicit. thanks
Reply
boomergp08 Premium
A tracking ID is anything you want it to be. If you wanted to track a blog you wrote at WA about motivation, you could use the word "motivation" as the tracking ID.

If you wanted to track a blog about choosing a niche, the tracking ID could be "niche" or whatever else you want it to be that will tell you what that link is all about.

NOTE: do not use "" quote marks in the tracking ID

That is the plugin and it will only appear on a live website. Once you paste the HTML code for the plugin into your text editor within WordPress, you will have to Preview the page or post in order to see it.

What is a tracking ID?
Reply
upsgirl Premium
The tracking code is a snippet of JavaScript that collects and sends data to Google Analytics, from a website. It's automatically generated for every web property. You need to copy and paste it from your account on to your web pages for Google Analytics to work.
Reply
JokeBamberge Premium
Thank you but I don't understand where is this ID tracking link?
Can you send a printscreen? I would be so helpfull
Reply
boomergp08 Premium
In regards to creating your own tracking ID, it is a way for you to know where that person who clicked the link came from.

Example, let us say I wanted to place a custom WA signup link on Facebook. When creating a custom WA link I would place the word Facebook or maybe the letters FB within the tracking ID space. Then when I click Save Tracking Link the WA custom tracking link maker will insert the word or letters I chose into the link.

Now when I look at my Entrance Details to see where my referrals are coming from, I can better see where the various clicks are coming from. This will help in determining which link is doing a better job at conversions.
Reply
upsgirl Premium
Any link you click can contain a tracking code, if used. Do you still want a screenshot?
Reply
JokeBamberge Premium
So I can use my website name
Reply
upsgirl Premium
If you do, you'll be tracking anyone that lands on your website.
Not too effective...
Individual tracking codes allow you to see WHAT LINKS are being clicked.
Make sense?
Reply
boomergp08 Premium
Personally I do not add my website name as a tracking ID to the affiliate links. However if I have that link coming from a different website, I would do the following.

Example, On my WA promotional website I am using the Site Rubix widget. I left the link as is, didn't add a tracking ID.

I also used the Site Rubix widget on my video games website, and for that link I added "VGames" as my tracking ID.

So now when I look at my WA Entrance Details, I can see how many referrals came from the widget on my video games website and how many came from my WA promotional website.

You would copy and paste that link using anchor text. Like put join now and when someone clicks on it, they will be taken to your Custom WA Page.
Reply
LizPB Premium
Ok...That's it! I thought I would be able to add the page to my honepage on my site.

You could do like Billy (bmontes) mentions above or you can add the link to an image within any of your posts or pages. I have added my link to images I place at the end of some of my blogs. Take a look at what I did at the bottom of a recent blog on my website.

http://legitimatejobfromhome.com/christian-home-based-business-ideas

Why is your affiliate ID not inserted or mentioned in your create account / sign up page affiliate referal link? My own create account / sign up page link also doesn't have my Affiliate ID where unlike the other affiliate referal links? Without your Affiliate ID embeded here how can the WA platform knows the new sign up comes from YOUR link and get paid?

Your unique code is there. Click the airplane and verify your link. Then, check your link.

Oh Thanks boomergp08 for the clarifiction. I have the same problem with mine (without my affilaite ID) that's why I am putting this question to you. Like you all my other affiliate links pointing to WA have my ID embedded except the createaccount. Maybe we will need to insert it manually OR with the createaccount link the system has it that way. I am somewhat still confused and need a very specific answer for this. I would really apprecite if any one could answer this querry more convincingly. Because I have been using this link without my affiliate ID and am afriad this I am doing it the wrong way.
Reply
boomergp08 Premium
The couple of times I did use it I did get referral credit for signups. I believe it is designed the same way as all of your WA blogs.

For example, you can share any and all of the WA blogs that YOU write without using your affiliate ID and still get the referral credit. The system is set up so that anything you personally create, does not require an affiliate ID because you are the author of the content.

If you are still having concerns about that one affiliate link, I suggest using the Custom Home Page affiliate link. The majority of my affiliate referrals, 303 so far, come through that custom affiliate link.
Reply
Kipps Premium
Thanks boomergp08, I believe what you said is correct. My or your createaccount links were created by us using WA platform so it doesn't need to have the referal link. "you can share any and all of the WA blogs that YOU write without using your affiliate ID and still get the referral credit. As far as Affiliate Bootcamp is concerned, it is still very present in my mind, it's only that I have to ask more questions about how to integrate the knowledge in a site that needs charity links with some rather tough conditions.
Thought I'd drop that in here, as I'm still preparing the questions I'll ask in the classroom.
If anyone already has a spontaneous feedback to this comment, I'm all ears, in the meantime, I'll continue researching it.....
Thanks for your time:-)

What exactly are you trying to do Therese?
Reply
theresroth Premium
Sorry, missed you!

I was worried that charities wouldn't want to be linked to from a site that's doing affiliate activity.( not that far yet).
What is your opinion?
Reply
boomergp08 Premium
Yes that could be a problem with some charities. I guess it would depend on the charity.

I keep finding my way back to this post....
The tutorial is truly excellent and the screen images show true mastery in attracting even a highly educated person with a suspicious attitude, I would think.

That screen image shows absolute transparency and a straightforeward query to the reader.

One would pay a lot of money, I think, trying to learn such marketing skills outside of WA!

Thanks Therese!

gshep51 Premium
I see many members put it on their websites, I don't think it's a problem. Just put it on there discretely maybe at the end and too large along with your other affiliate links.

I just need a little advice my website is all about crocheting my hobby but I want to put a custom WA signup page on my site, but a bit worried that it would scare potential viewers away what do you think?
Reply
theresroth Premium
I think if you stick to your style when introducing it, it will blend nicely into the site, without your audience losing interest.
I wish you a nice success with that.
Kind Regards
Therese

Thank you. I will try it and see what happens.

boomergp08 Premium
I would suggest you think about changing your About Me page. Finish it with a story about how WA has helped you build your dream website. Then place the link to your custom sign up page at the bottom. That is what I am going to do on my next website.
Reply
jenjen69 Premium
Thank you for the advice I was thinking how to approach it and this a brilliant way of incorporating a custom link.

I can't seem to find the stats reporting for custom tracking links am I missing something?
Reply
boomergp08 Premium
Custom tracking links would appear only in the Referral Entrance Details section of the My Stats screen.

Hi, Thank you very much for your explanation. but how to get the links change to HTML code?
Reply
Kyle Premium
They automatically do that if you use the visual editor. You don't have to worry about "adding" code to your website.

Here is some training on adding affiliate links:
Reply
boomergp08 Premium
As Kyle said below, they change automatically.

Hey Boomer this is AWESOME! Just when I think I know everything I learn something new. I didn't know I could create my own personal WA sign-up page and Dude! This was really helpful! In fact ...

I have just created my own sign-up page (easy peasy) and I'll begin testing it in my campaign. Thanks again cuz this juicy tid bit of info is one of the most hepful tips I have found!
Reply

Ok I just spend 3 days trying to make a tracking link for http://www.siterubix.com. I did not try my WA link yet, and I kept getting Invalid Error. I just tried my WA link and works, wonderful. The http://www.siterubix.com must not work with the Tracking Link Tool ?
Reply
boomergp08 Premium
I do not believe that the siterubix works with the trracking link tool because it has its own tracking system built in.
Reply
craigglewis Premium
I will have to test. but I was hoping to make them for campaign.

This may be a stupid question, but what the hell, I am gonna ask it anyway. These links are not for tracking links that are already on our websites correct?
Reply
boomergp08 Premium
Are you talking about the section of this training where I am talking about creating a custom tracking link?

And there is no such thing as a stupid question except for the one not asked.
Reply
SuzetteH Premium
Thanks Robert :). Yes. I am thinking I may have the wrong concept here. Do we use these links to track referrals that come from outside sources only meaning, like when we share this link on Social Media, Blogger, Tumblr etc .. or do we use them to link to call to action links within our websites? If on our websites: say I have two different links within a page or post. Do we use the same sign up link within the post and use a different one for each post?

Or, do I make cutom links for website and different ones for social media, then differt ones for article sharing?

God I hope that makes sense Lol. I am not always good at explaining what is in my head :).
Reply
boomergp08 Premium
Obviously these custom links only work with WA links and you can use these custom links both on your website and on social media. Any time when you want to know where the link is comming from, you use the custom link.
Reply
bjdluna Premium
So you only use the custom link when you're tracking an ad from facebook vs an ad from adwords? Is that what it is for?
Reply
boomergp08 Premium
No. Using the tracking link can be added to any WA link and shared/tracked from anywhere.

Do you keep the same campaign name as the homepage link? and what kind of blog do i write for this?
Reply
boomergp08 Premium
So far I have only used the custom home page under one campaign ID name. The Site Rubix plugin and the custom link I have used specific IDs to track which blogs they came from.

For example I had a Site Rubix plugin on my Video Game website. So the tracking ID I added was VGblog. Now when I see that come up in the Referral Entrance Point, I know it came from that blog.
