One of our newer members has been having all sorts of trouble trying to get a link inserted on her blog!
I can't help Sarah, because I have never done what she is trying
No doubt Sarah will have received help by now. However, I've sent her a PM offering help if she needs it.

Greetings to All from Adelaide in South Australia...
As I am sure many of you might already know...
Windows XP support has ended and along with it, Microsoft has
I would definitely recommend that you upgrade to Windows 10 and use it paid as available in your country. Mailware and all that may be included with slows down your computer and still be you risk being hacked. It is my position on it. There are certainly some who believe they have a free solution that might be just as good. But I have a son who pulls all sorts of games down to his computer and so far not succeed to pull something with virus
The free upgrade program to windows 10 ended a while ago for all those who are not aware.
https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/12435/windows-10-upgrade-faq
Avast is good paid or unpaid. If you fancy industry standard software, use ESET Internet Security. A lot of big companies use it and it's not too expensive.
Thanks John...
I appreciate you letting me know...
I have never heard of ESET!
It is almost time for me to get a new laptop I think!
Hi Steve.
If you are looking for a free antivirus solution i would recommend Avast or AVG. I used them for many years before i switched to Bullguard. I found as a software engineer i need something with a bit more "muscle". As a solution for a free antivirus i would go with Avast or AVG.
In regards to Win XP, Microsoft has stopped supporting WinXP and i would recommend updating to Windows 10, from my knowledge it shouldn't be a problem to update to Win 10.
Thank you and all the best.
Tomasz
Thanks for letting me know Tomasz...
I'm actually on Windows Vista...
Do you know what the difference is between XP & Vista?
Hi Steve,
I didn't use Vista for long as it was one of the most under performing Operating systems that Microsoft released. A very nice comparison can be found here
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_Windows_Vista_and_Windows_XP
This covers all the topics related to security and features between the systems.
This should help in deciding to upgrade your system.
Tom
Thanks Tom...
I have been using Vista for ages and never had a problem with it!
However, I do know the time has come to upgrade...
Steve
Hi Steve,
Avast or AVG are good free antivirus programs. I have used both of them with success.
Kathy
Avast and AVG put so much load on your PC they can actually shorten your hard drive life if you're using an SSD drive. Try uninstalling thise software and see how much quicker your PC becomes. If you like, try using the software i use which the list is in my first post and all are free :)
Why don't you upgrade to win 10? It's free. As far as all the free anti virus software gpes, I've tried everything and this is the best set up I've come up with as so many of the free anti virus drain your pc energy and overload it (suck all the ram).
I use :
1. Windows defender that comes with windows for real time anti virus protection.
2. Win firewall that also comes with windows for protection.
3. Super spykill (i think its called) gets rid of all the spyware other software doesn't detect and it's free.
4. Malware bytes that scans and detects malware that windows defender won't detect.
5. Ccleaner which cleans up all the junk and temp files from your hard drive.
6. Glary utilities which is great for maintaining your pc.
All of the above are free. I only use the free versions and am yet to get a virus or any malware on my 2 year old asus zenbook pro.
Whenever i download something i always scan it with win defender before opening the file to make sure it's clean.
P.S. ive tried AVG and Avira and security essentials and they all suck the life out of your pc. You don't need them.
P.P.S. Having win xp is not good neither. Since microsoft stopped supporting it, it is very vulnerable and you could be experience performance issues as well as ther hasnt been an update for so long.
P.P.P.S. I strongly suggest updating to windows 10. It's faster as well.
I hope this helps!
Emrah
Thanks for all Emrah...
I'm not sure if my computer will allow me to update to Windows 10...
S'pose I could try!
Hey,
Youmost welcome Steve. What are the specs of your pc?
Also I see alot of people here mentioning non free business anti virus software etc.
Do you know it's actually these anti virus companies that create the viruses? Then they keep asking for money so that you can update their software so it detects new viruses that they create.
Never in my life have I paid for anti virus software, and I never will. And I've never ever had any malware or virus until I met my wife and let her use my PC (lesson learnt) only I use the pc for business. But even then, I was able to clean my pc of all infections without having to re format my hard drive and I did this using all FREE software.
But seriously, I understand you may not have the funds to get a new PC or upgrade your pc so it will be compatible for win 10 etc. But I would seriously be looking to invest in this as soon as possible. You don't have to go and buy the most expensive pc, but have it capable of running the latest software at least.
P.S. Avira and AVG really put so much load on your PC it's not funny.
Warm Regards,
Thanks a lot Emrah...
Yes, almost time for a new laptop...
I was just wondering what others in the community have been using...
All the best...

I used Avast until I upgraded to Windows 10, now I'm using the built-in Windows Defender. I also have Malwarebytes premium (not free). I recommend Avast.

How Do I WhiteWash Wealthy Affiliate Emails To Appear In My InBox?
Boy oh boy...did I do something really dumb today!
Somehow, I have managed
Hi, Steve, you can try this with Gmail, hope iit helps.
Mouse over the Settings menu icon and select Settings.(Normally the cog at the top right-hand corner).
Click Filters and then Add.
Enter a Filter Name.
Either. enter the domain of the email you want to whitelist in the Sender field, or
Select Inbox as the folder to deliver the email to.
Click Save and then click Save again.
Steve, open your spam folder and see if you can mark something as not spam thus sending it back to your original in box. You may have to do it with every good message until all the good are all out of there.
Barbara
Now that sounds like the best option so far!
That's where I was 'playing' when this atrocity started lolol
It all depends on which email client you're using Steve. Google "white list outlook email" or "white list gmail" (or whatever you're using) to get possible solutions. With some email clients you can just go to your junk folder and mark the emails as "not spam". Maybe adding WA's email address to your contacts will work.
Thanks Marion...
I'm a Gmailer...
I reckon what you & Barara above have suggested might be where I need to go!
Will let you know how I get on!
It sounds like you may have inadvertently flagged a WA message as spam. You may want to try adding the WA sending address to your Contacts list. That's worked for me with hotmail when I've accidentally marked a message as junk.
Hi Steve.. I am not sure. Don't want any experiments and you know why...lol ... Try to go to Account settings- there is Email Notification Setting section there. Try to see what you can do there. :))
That's a thought!
I can't for the life of me work out what I have done!
Yes...I completely understand there is no awesome sauceliberally poured on mine or your technical capabilities lololol :)
Don't touch mine, though...lol... I am learning to say"I can". It might take longer but I can. If I totally couldn't, I wouldn't have appeared at this page now. Neither would you...It's just fears and lack of competence, and this can be dealt with....:)
rofl it sounds like we're off to the battlefields...
Promise I will not touch your computer! lol
I put my hand up...both actually...
I AM COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT WITH ANYTHING TO DO WITH TECHNICAL STUFF lol
icanicanicanicanicanicanicanicanicanicanicanicanicanicanicanican
I wouldnt mind you or anybody else (preferaby else....lol) touching my computer and pressing all the buttons for me...But I am going to learn to do something myself. Actually, I was much worse when I only started here.A friendly advice- never say never. Never say you can't .You program yourself.
Good night..:))
You're funny...
I will get it sorted out...some of the answers so far have given me a start point! :)
Thank you Vera...all fixed now...
After much tampering and playing with all the buttons n stuff I managed to fix it...don't ask me how lol :)
I obviously didn't play with or push the right buttons...
It's happening again lol :)
Happy New Year Vaera...
I hope you had a great night...
I've been missing in action for 24 hours...needed a rest!

WOW. Minus 15 here! :)
I was wondering about the same kind of question Steve. Not that I intend to do a ton of them. But I'm getting more and more interested in doing video tutorial, both for my YouTube channel as well as for my website. And maybe put some that are suitable for WA in my training section.
Hi Guy...
I think it's one...
Just to try it out I tried to do 2 in the same 24 hours and it wouldn't publish...so there's the answer...ONE!
I'm not an active YOUTUBER just yet...soon!
Good morning, Can you elaborate on this statement.
" I know we are limited to 3 blog posts after 3 months here."
Maybe I should elaborate on my question. As a fairly newbie I just want to know.
1- Is it 3 blog posts per day you are allowed after three months?
2- Prior to 3 months being in WA, Can you do as many?
Your first 90 days as a member, you are allowed one WA blog post per day. The crossover is 00:00 GMT (adjust for your time zone). After 90 days, you are allowed three WA blog posts per day, again, this 'day' resets at 00:00 GMT.
I tried to upload a second video a few minutes after the first and got a notification that I'd reached my limit. I uploaded the video the next day. The two videos were related and I wanted to release them at the same time.
Personally I think it's a great idea to have a limit because at one stage a few people were flooding WA with trainings which were of dubious quality.
Agree with you Marion...
One per day is enough...
I would be struggling to do more than that!
Hope you were able to stay out of the heat today!
Then it was Marion, sometimes I get the two of you confused... after all, we only have a tiny visual, and the two of you are the training Goddesses.

Hello Steve, that's a good question. I have a few unwanted business Facebook pages to dispose of, I will follow the instructions here! It is amazing how something so simple can be so difficult at times, I've been there!
All the best to you Steve, Roy.
I agree with mcikic!
I think the best way to tweak something in social media, is to give 'em to Google....☺ ( or YouTube)
Then you always have the navigation structure broken down clearly, the brands are often just not doing it:-()
All under control now Therese!
For the life of me, I couldn't find how to do it inside Facebook!
It drives me nuts!
How can something so simple be so hard??
I have had 3 members tell me what I have to do...I have just been into Facebook, followed their instructions but I don't get an option to delete the page I want to get rid of!
Seems like they want to keep things......funny, we are the contributors, you'd think they'd give us some editing options.....
