I am looking for suggestions on a plug-in to add social media follow buttons to my website. What do you use, and how do you like it? Is it user friendly? If you don't use a plu

I don't, I use Coding and place them in the menu. Please see the examples I created for the community on the WA web space . TeddyBearPoop1 on the SiteRubix.com domain.

You can also change the 1 out for 2 and then 3 .

If you like this let me know and I will create a training here on the WA platform.

I went to where I think you asked me to check out, but I'm not sure it was the correct place. This is where I went: http://teddybearpoop1.siterubix.com/

Are you talking about the icons you have at the top next to the phone number? Or about the ones at the bottom under "follow me"?

Both. You can also see how I put them in the menu at teddybearpoop2 & 3 as well.

These are just examples I created for the community to get ideas from. Check out the different pages. Please feel free to use any idea you get.

I like the ones you have on teddybearpoop2. You had mentioned you would be willing to create a training. I would be interested, since I know absolutely nothing about writing code. Is there a way to place the icons in the side bar?

Sure. There are many ways to do everything on the web. Monday I'll create a trainer and give you the coding in the description.

Hi, Kathy!

I use a plug-in called "Social Icons" on my existing sites, but recently discovered the Divi WordPress theme which comes with a social plug-in called Monarch. I'm in the process of redesigning a website for a local client and I'm using Divi and Monarch for the job.

"Social Icons" has served me well and it's easy to use, but I'm so impressed with Divi and Monarch all of my new sites will be built using them. Divi is pricey and costs about $90 a year or a one time cost of about $250 for lifetime access and it took me a week to feel confident using it, but it will build any style of website imaginable.

"Social Icons" is free. You can't beat free.

Gary

Thanks Gary. I have looked at Divi and it is definitely something I would like to explore in the future. Free is good right now. I will explore Social Icons.
Kathy

I don't use any special plugin, I have it already on my theme settings.

Which theme are you using? Having it as part of your theme would be awesome!!!

What theme are you using? I am currently using Twenty Sixteen--it's not already built into my theme settings. Or at least I don't think so.

Social Media Feather is popular amongst members. https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/social-media-feather/

Thank you. I will check it out.

No probs. you're most welcome! :)

I am just completing Boot Camp Course 4 Lesson 2. I have tried using my WA link to pin content from WA;however, I keep getting an error message stating "Oops! Users have report

Thanks for raising the issue, Kathy, as I got exactly the same message after experimenting on Pinterest as per Kyle's Bootcamp Course 4 lesson 2. Now I know why.

Giulia

Thank you all for your quick responses. I'm guessing from what you all are saying, things have changed a bit since Kyle first did the training. :)

Most social media doesn't like affiliate links. Always link back to an interesting post on your website. You can put your affiliate links in your website but not on social media.

Pinterest does not accept most affiliate links of any kind anymore.

I'm speculating a bit here -- Does your link require that visitors sign up for WA before they can see the content? If so, see below from the pinterest advertising guidelines:

"If you require people to take an action (like signing up) before they can see certain content, your ad should make that clear."

If this is the problem with links on pinterest, I'd suggest linking (using a non-affiliate link) to a page on your site. You can place your WA affiliate link on that page.

It i one of the reasons I really do not use any social media.

I have not heard about this issue, though, interesting

oh no, does it?

Hey Kathy,

Here is their guidelines: https://policy.pinterest.com/en/advertising-guidelines. You might want to review them to see if something stands out to you that you may be doing wrong.

Pinterest users now have more control over the content they see thus targeting the right people is becoming more and more important than before.

Did you make a board like "affiliate marketing ideas" or "affiliate marketing" or did you post images under titles that were not related to affiliate marketing?

These are questions you need to be able to answer for yourself. No need to reply to these here.

Not every SM algorithm is friendly to WA. You can write to them, change your link or use another SM.
