Hi,

My name is Tessa and I joined WA because I wanted to learn how to increase my income while I´m traveling.

When I travel I visit new and unfamiliar places where I help folks with things like gardening, cooking, cleaning, uncluttering, organizing and practical problem-solving. This is part time and so are my online earning activities. I feel there is more balance when I do physical work as well instead of staring at a computer screen all day.

Momentarily I am staying in a beautiful little town in Luxembourg.

Things I like

Football/soccer, and sports in general. When I played as a full back in The Netherlands we won the regional women´s league and two provincial cups.

Walking/hiking, traveling, being in nature, listening to music, re-using stuff, reading, some socializing, singing in the kitchen, and light weight lifting.

Ancient and old places, the peaceful matriarchal societies, history, and also black/white photography of (old) places, people, buses, trams, bridges, etc.

Originality and authenticity

appeal to me much. I couldn´t explain any better than Billie Holiday did when she said: ¨If I'm going to sing like someone else, then I don't need to sing at all¨.

Thanks for the follow. I hope hope to aspire others like you in the WA community. As newbie in WA what words of wisdom can you tell me about WA community. Is WA really rewarding and have you been able to travel and have financial freedom? Do you have any other source of income or WA is sufficient enough to make a decent living?

Hi, Ray, nice to meet you and welcome to WA.

Re your questions:
The WA community is knowledgeable, helpful and supportive. I´ve learned lots about building and exploiting a website here. Traveling has been swell. Not sure what you mean by financial freedom. I´ve not made lots with my WA boot camp site yet. I do have a few other sources of income.

Currently, I´m thinking about starting a niche website as I´ve come to the conclusion a boot camp site is not really my thing.

Best of luck to you *s

Good evening to you Tessa, my name is Ken and I welcome you to WA and thank you for the follow. I'm following you back. You have a very good plan to continue to earn an income while traveling. It would have been better to have started websites before traveling, but better late than never. You could even become a traveling columnist writing for travel magazines about the places you are at now, have been or going to.
I look forward to working with you and wish you much success and prosperity while you live the dream.

Hi Tezsie again! After visiting you profile here at WA I get little bit nostalgic, cause I miss Old Europe, and I would love to go there again and maybe even live there.
I'm not really traveller but somehow I was in few countries: Poland (born there), Slovakia, Hungary, and longest period in Italy - where I was living there for a year. I ove this country and Rome!
I have few family members in Norway, England and Belgium (closest to you, LOL) If I make it in IM I will be free to travel there. I hope.
All The Best!

Thanks for sharing, Leonard. I almost went to Polonia last year. Alas, the prospective host canceled because he lost his job. Of course, I mentioned WA lol.
I should like to visit Budapest and Rome before I go six feet under. But not in a rush to get there.as there´s a time and place for everything.
If you stick with WA long enough, you can´t help but become successful.

Followed you back...
Luxembourg is a really nice place, my friends spent time there working in the financial sector, when we visited - we used to go to a place called Pigmalion - not sure if it still open...
Anyway, enjoy the WA experience and best of luck to you...

Thanks for the re-follow and good wishes, Paul. The financial sector is quite big here, so I heard. Glad you had a good time here.

Hey Tessa,

Thanks for adding me to your network. It takes a village to raise a child and it also takes a village to build a business. So networking and growing business relationships is a key success factor. Thanks a mil for this opportunity.

How are things coming along since you started in January?

All the best.

What a wonderfully interesting and diverse individual! You were like finding a rare gem in a pile of cut glass. Leave it to Tessa to take a Tezsie!
By the way, did you get to reading my blog on procrastination and pick up your round Tuit? I would understand if you hadn't done it yet!

I asked this question to the community about being unable to leave comments. The link below will show u what they said. Maybe this will help. I still can't leave one for you.

Thanks much for the link. I shall look into it.
I keep being baffled by WP because like in this case, I´ve been getting comments and all worked fine, and then all of sudden it doesn´t when I haven´t made a single change! And then have to go through things to find out what the problem is and fix it. And then after a while the next thing stops working and so on and on and on.

Happy Sunday!

Tessa, well I know little of the Netherlands in spite of growing up with a number of Dutch families as friends. So I looked up your city. I finally found a picture of the Watchtower and can confirm you really do have some 'hills'. (Or at least flanks of hills as that is all that showed.)

It appears we have (or had in my case in younger days) many similar interests. I look forward to interacting with you so keep in touch.

Hey, Helen, thanks for your message. It was a pleasant read as was your profile. Left you a reply there.

I worked backwards. Read you comment in my profile first! I believe you have created two sites about the same thing. One in English and one in Dutch. Great thinking. I often see folks doing sites and it is reasonably obvious their language is not English and they seem to be struggling. Then I wonder why they don't start in their natural language and get help translating it to English.

If you like it would be nice if you could have a quick look at my site and let me know if (as Jay says) it is 'humanised' enough. The link is on my profile.

I have just left a comment on your 'About Me' page.

Hi, Helen, just left a comment on your sci-fi website. It looks good to me. Just one thing is you are using the title Posts And Reviews twice, but with different content. Might be clearer to have two differnt titles.

Tessa, thanks for reminding me. That is a left over from before I did a static home page with a blog roll page. I forgot to do something about it.

Thanks for the comment. I have a few to reply to. We have had foul weather here and both the power and internet keep disappearing! That makes working a bit sporadic at the moment.

Fingers crossed, today's sunny. Trying to dry some clothes as the drier is on semi strike (one thermostat isn't working!).

No fun for you with your dryer out of order. But lovely scent when dried outside, no?
Reply
HelenpDoyle Premium
Yes we get a lot of fresh eucalyptus smell with all the gum trees around. Fortunately the drier is partially ok now. It goes around and around but only at half heat!

Greetings! We have many similar interests. I love being in nature and am grateful to live a few blocks away from the tallest mtn. in San Diego proper. The long route is 5 miles in about 2 1/2 hours.

My only trip to Europe (so far!) was to Holland where I had to actively avoid being mugged within an hour of stepping off the train. It was a truly memorable adventure and lots more happened during the trip.

Traveling there increased my feelings of connection to other cultures. The people were great and thankfully bilingual. That's one tough language you have. And so is English - - anyone fluent in both is a true scholar.

Nice to meet you and I'll be sure to pay your site a visit.

Cheers!

Hi, Jon, Nice to meet you here. You live in a beautiful city! I was fortunate to be able to visit twice. The harbor, Old Town, and the Trolley are my favorite hangouts in SD.
Glad to read you enjoyed most of your trip to NL. Bummer you got mugged. There ought to be a proper warning against the professional gangs aiming at tourists in the parts around the airport.
All the best to you in life and business!

I avoided the mugging by turning around and staring at the guy following me in broad daylight through a busy outdoor market. My phone had no service but I pretended to be on it while ducking into a gift shop to change hats.

The look on his face when I turned around was priceless! His jaw hit the floor. Everything was all set for him and his friend up ahead lying in wait.

The trip was in late Nov. and although we had lots of gloom I still loved the country. Would love to return in the summer or spring when the flowers are blooming.

So glad you were able to avoid the mugging! Smart response of you.
Late November the days get short and gloomy indeed. You´d find the opposite in spring.

I really like your website as you speak from your heart and personality. I also prefer working in the quiet of my home, rather than working outside the home.

One of my ancestors came from the Netherlands (dad's side of my family) to New York city. It was called New Amsterdam back then, as he came over in 1634!

Thanks for the follow and I wish you much success. :)

Wow, you sure know your personal history. That era is referred to here as Holland´s golden century. When I was a child, I read lots books about how the ships of the VOC sailed east. And their competitor´s ships all the way west. What an adventure for the men and boys on board. There were lots dangers but also good times along the way.

I saw a replica of one of these ships in NYC. Another in Sydney. That was The Batavia. In Corpus Christi, TX I went on board the replica of Columbis´ ship the Niña. Oh and I was also on the Mayflower replica in Boston. I could go on, lol.

Thanks for your lovely response and have a pleasant evening!
