I made a comment on the discussion thread for one of Jay's Friday webinars. I'd like to turn off notifications for that thread (Sorry, Jay.) but I can't find any option
You can use the little cog on top, and click on mute the discussion, but sometimes I have noticed this doesn't do the job, I once deleted my comment, because I went crazy from all the notifications keep coming in
The way I do it is under the notification tab (the globe at the top of the page). Select the message, then there is an action button, click that and select ‘remove from discussion ‘.
You are right, it's not there, it's only on the normal blogs.
I think you have to delete your comment to get rid of it
I hope that's not the case. I didn't want to deleye the comment since my comment answered another member's question.

Thanks for asking this question. Due to my slow internet speed I often get sound and discussion with cut-up video. This solution may help to pick up clear video and sound. Like points in the discussion...When my internet is up to par.

On various occasions, I've muted discussion threads that have moved off into other areas than those that I had commented on. From that point, I no longer get notificatiions of
Hey Bob, great question! I was wondering the same thing. And your thread just answered it. Appreciate it @pmindra
Brother Bobb Barr.
I do not know you yet.
It seems that you are having some continued challenges
There are no challenges for that..
Thank you for inviting me to be a part of your network I graciously accept by following yo back
I have been here since May, 2016.
Bob,
How can I help?
Kindest ragrds,
Paul.
.
It was just a simple question about the details of muting discussions, not any sort of challenge.
My question was about WA discussion threads, not wordpress sites. (As far as I know, there is no mute function in wordpress.)
Hi, Bob.
Still not completely sure.
I have not had any issues using the WA dicussion thread or even using the WP for comments, communication, etc...
I might be missing out on something here.
Let me know.
Kindest regards,
Paul.
I think that you're overcomplicating things by mixing wordpress with WA regarding my question -- The entire question is about the "Mute" function on WA discussion threads and has nothing at all to do with wordpress commenting.
I had been thinking (hoping?) that a direct reply to a post of mine on a muted thread should unmute the discussion. Moritz has confirmed that is not the case.
Once you have removed yourself from a discussion you won't get any notifications anymore.
So you would have to check manually whether someone replied to your comment.
Only if you comment on it again will you receive notifications.
That's too bad -- I've probably muted dozens of threads over the years. There's no way in the world that I'm going back to check them manually.
Exactly -- I really don't need to be notified for a lot of those innumerable, repetitive posts. :=) It would be nice, though, to get a notification if someone directly replies to one of my posts.

I've recently seen advertising for an SEO program called SeoPOP. (I'm not sure if this is a new program or a renaming of some existing one.) While it's fairly cheap (about $20)
Hi Bob, I've never heard of it but I would be highly skeptical. Companies like that typically rip you off.
Hey Bob,
They appear to be a web development company trying to get business for several different things, from website development to video marketing. There are no testimonies, so I would assume they are new in the marketplace.
Hope that helps you.
