I've joined an HR service looking for job seekers.

As Marion has indicated with the blogging rules, I am sorry but no, you cannot.

Wayne

When you own the website the posts appear on you can write about anything you like and promote anything you want to promote. When someone else owns the website then you'll need to follow their rules.

Here are the blogging rules for posts at Wealthy Affiliate

Beldon is correct. Everything linked to within a blog here at WA should be contained within WA somewhere. You are free to advertise anything you like on your web page. You can tell people about the service and, if they are interested, they can pm you for more info. Hope that helps.

Blessings,
Debby

Thanks Debby.

Yes. The posts are yours.

HI,

You can do it on your website but not on Wealthy Affiliate as any promotion is not allowed here.

Hope this helps,

Belden

Thanks Belden, am still confused as the next reply seems to contradict you. Pat

Marion should have clarified it by now. Just to simplify, if you own the website yes if you do not own it no. Websites you created in WA is yours. This blog is owned by WA.

Hope this helps,

Belden

You can do whatever you want to do of this nature on your own posts!

I am writing articles for medium.com, and included links to my 2 sites. They both come up as "unsafe", why? I even deleted the siterubix site to see if it would help.

Here are two training modules that might help.. I hope this helps you,
Kathi

Thanks Kathi.
The unsafe 504 is actually showing up on the medium.com site, not mine, so I'm trying to work with them to see what can be done.
Pat

Well.. I hope you get the issue worked out.

Are you using https in your links? If not, that may be why.

Yes I am Peter.

Then I don't know. Perhaps tech support can help out.

Are you using https in your links? If not, that may be why.

Did you turn on the SSL protection on for your site. I forgot to turn it on my website in the beginning and had problems too

How do you turn it on?

Just go to the siterubix tab on the left, site manager, click detail drop down and it will show "siteSSL" Just slide it on and it will turn green if it is not on. If it's off, that might of been the issue. The SSl makes your sites secure for your audience to see. Otherwise some browsers will block the site. Hope that helps if you haven't found a solution already =)

Hey do you have a website up yet!!!!

Thanks,
Theo

Hi Theo,
Yes, two.

allaboutteacoffeeandfood.com

thespiritualsideofplants.com

Nice website, working on getting mine first one done.

Theo

I would contact SiteSupport in your case. There might be members who know but SiteSupport is great at website specific questions! :)

Search the computer for whatever name of the file you had the photos in or check your trash bin If you recall how you named any of the photos search for that. Based on you saying they were all in a file on your laptop.

Frank, thanks so much for that info.

When you go to your downloads, at the bottom make sure its on all files. Than you can see all the types just incase it renamed the extension name. Maybe its zipped?

Thank you for the like did you actually find it yet? If not make sure you get a hold of support they'll find it.

Thank you so much, I will do that now.

Do you know what folder you downloaded them into?

They have always lived in my download file. Just tonight they disappeared.

I would do a computer search of one of the lost files if you know the extension of the file e,g. flower.jpg. If it's there, it will show up in the search results.

If you're not sure of the name of a file, you try to search for all by entering *.jpg.
The asterisk acts as a wildcard, and tell the computer to locate every file that is a .jpg

Good luck!

Have you checked your trash bin?

No, thanks for the suggestion, will do that.

It's got something to do with your SSL certificate

Hi Marion, thanks so much for your help. I followed your video, but my screen didn't look the same because there was already a padlock. But I installed the SSL fixer anyway and activated it per your instructions. Google showed the https setting too. Pat

I would recommend u contact sitesupport. They have been working on the servers lately to resolve issues and the servers act up at times.

thanks.

Does that come when an outsider clicks your site? If so, then that should be reported to WA in the site support.

Yes, when I sent the link to outsiders.

Everything untoward to your site which other people see when they visit should be reported to the WA management. Normally a site must be friendly to people who visit it. If they find so many distractions it should be reported.

Thanks Accad, I just reported it to Support.

You might want to check whether you sent them a http or https link. It might depend on how you've set up your SSL encryption. I've had something similar happen to me in the past.

I did https, does it matter?

It shouldn't make a difference.. You just have to make sure that what they are clicking on is a https link and not a http link. If it all marries up in your setup and you're still having the same issue, you might want to contact support to have a look at it.

thanks so much. But it is also hard to contact support, however I'll try again.

Hope it gets resolved soon for you. :)

I'm wondering if it has to do with the antivirus software

I'm having that same issue. I hope someone can help

Maybe the link was corrupted.

How could the link be corrupted?

I honestly don't know HOW it happens, but it does. Its happened to me many times. Here's a link to a Wikipedia article about it:

Hope this helps.
Good luck.

thanks Albert.

I don't know. Perhaps Carlson can answer it.

I would like to add a panoramic picture of mountain ranges in the header part of my site. How can I do that? Thanks.

Hey Pat,

Doing a quick Google search for "how to add a panoramic picture to wp" (without the quotation marks, of course) I discovered plugins that are available along with some posts with tips that may interest you.

As Marion Black clearly stated, your website question here is NOT a support issue (technical issues only), but a community issue.

Hope the community has helped you with this issue. We're all looking forward to helping you out along your way to success!

Thanks so much for your response, I truly appreciate it. The community here is so wonderful and kind.

But, as I said, the support button on my site is not working! It will allow you to click on the first one, but not the other three!
Pat

Hey Pat,

Your question stated a completely different topic.

Where on your website do you have a support button?

If you are referring to the WA website (your account) support ... what buttons are you referring to?

What kind of theme did you have? Check on customization of the site then click the header then, if you can see in the header section insert image it possible to add image. If you want to change the background image click the background select picture for the background image.

Hi there,
Thanks so much for your helpful hint. I will try yours. I tried other things suggested, including a change of theme.
I actually just had a look, and it doesn't have an option to insert image nor background image. It just has menu change options.

When I learn a bit more about building my site, I may try to change the theme again.
Thanks again,
Pat

Pat,
I have a website with a very large picture on it. You can check it out. I use the theme "Hiero". It works very well for putting in a large header picture. I also find this theme to be very simple to use, at least for me! I am really technically challenged, so the simpler the better. I don't know if you want to change themes again, but you might give this a try. I have three websites and I use this theme on all of them. The other two sites do not have large pictures, however. The site to check is: www.supportmilitaryheroes.org. If you need help, let me know. Take Care. Connie

Wow, how stunning your site is Connie! I think I just have to learn a bit more about the technicalities of building a website!

I've tried the suggestions here, but unfortunately they don't seem to be working for me. I'll check out Hiero, right now I have Brigsby, but I think the best thing for me right now is to concentrate on getting my blog out there, even in its fairly simple state, and start getting a following.

Thanks again for your help, and to your success.
Pat

Hi Pat,
I also have the Brigsby theme and don't know how to get the same look/image on my site that WordPress advertised. Fiverr has WordPress customization specialists I could hire to do this for me but unsure if I'm permitted to have someone from Fiverr work on my site here at WA. I sent a support ticket to WA, but no response as yet. If you figure out something, please let me know. Thanks.

Hi Rosa, I've left it for the time being, because there is just so much to do here that it's not that important now. May get back to it, or may just change the theme. All best to you. Pat

Best wishes to you as well!

Site support is for technical issues with your website not for help using WordPress.

Try asking your question again in the community and explain exactly what you are trying to do. Everyone here tries to help each other when they can.

Hi Marion, thanks for your response. The question was that the site support buttons did not work on my site -- just the top one, not the other three.
But, of course, the wonderful community pitched in and tried to help me with my background insertion, thanks.
Pat

I have usually received a timely response but WA community members almost always reply more quickly.

Yes, when I post in community, but no, when I try to activate the site support ticket.

Did you create a ticket because I have never had a problem.
I hope your problem is solved.

No, I have never gotten the site support button my site to work!

Get in to your dashboard, and on the the menu on the left (with the "posts", "media", "comments", "pages", "users", etc.) find "Appearance" (next to a small paint brush icon). Hover over "Appearance" to open a drop-down menu. Second down on that list is "Customize". Click on that and it'll bring you to a page with various site customization options such as "Active theme", "Site identity", "Colors", and, what you're looking for, "Header image". Click on that and it'll pull up a drop-in box where you can drop in your mountain photo.

If that won't work, you may have to change your theme. For example, I once found a theme that I really liked, but I couldn't reset the default image to anything else. I just had to find another theme.

Hope this helps,

Holden

Holden, thanks so much! I kept your instructions open, while I tried to customize the site, but unfortunately I couldn't get it to work.
So, I installed another theme, but it was so complicated, that I uninstalled it and went back to the original.
Maybe I haven't gotten to that part in the training, still on Course 3, Lesson 8.
But thanks so much for trying to help.
Pat

Here is a source to copy and paste in your header image section.
http://www.istockphoto.com/photos/panoramic-mountain

Hi there,
thanks for your help, love the mountain ranges!
I'm not computer literate enough to do this, so I wonder if Kyle will cover this as I go along. I'm still just in Course 3.
Thanks so much for your help, I am now following you.
Pat

The best idea I have is to find a theme that has: a) a panoramic view of a mountain or 2) a panoramic view of anything.

You can then use the appearance function to change the picture.

(You got instructions from 2 other folks about both of these...

Good luck and let us all know what happened.
