Hello everyone. I have always thought that your title should be your exact keyword but after reading Kyle's post I see that that is not the case. So should I go back and modify

Hey Carl, I think you are on the right track. I have been experimenting with changes to my AIO-SEO titles; remember to place additions after the keyword to keep your keyword as close to beginning as possible. Cheers!

Hi and thanks for the information. I will do that. :)

Welcome friend!

Wonderful question... Thank you for asking. Good to know the different perspectives on what's been working for everyone.

Thanks Ha. Yes, it is good info to know.

Hi Carl

Yes, you are perfectly right - add something to the keyword. Twoscribe also has a good example.

"Onwards and Upwards!"
Sharlee (Chocolate IceCream)

Thanks I will look into adding something to them so that they are not just the keyword. It is only a few posts that would need to change.

Yes, I was also thinking just as well I don't have hundreds of posts yet! :-) Blessings comes in many different forms, don't they? LOL!
May you enjoy a lovely day Carl!
Sharlee (Chocolate IceCream)

Yes they do, lol. Thanks much Sharlee and I wish u a great day too. :)

Carl

I belive like Twoscribe said, thanks for this information it helps, dear

np and thanks for your inputs. :)

I think what Kyle meant was not to not use just the keyword. Example if you keyword is “eat healthy” make a title hat says, “Eat Healhy-Let me tell you how!

Right I agree, I just have a few posts that I used just the keyword and I was thinking of adding something to them and was wondering if that would be ok to do to an old post.

I have tweaked my titles in the past to make them more enticing. There is no problem with this as long as you don't change the permalinks.

Thanks that is good to know. Yes I will not be changing the permalinks at all.

Carl

Excuse me , Steve, I don't quite understand. How can you change the title of the post and not change the permalink doing this? Isn't a permalink the URL which leads to a particular post? Maybe I get it wrong, though.

The permalink is basically set in stone unless you edit it yourself. Editing the post title alone won't change the permalink.

Thanks.:)

Hi Carl!
Google recommend NOT TO FILL YOUR MAIN TITLE with keywords. You just create the main title AS RELEVANT AS POSSIBLE TO YOUR CONTENT.
That way you match Google's and reader's requirement. The crawlers and the readers are reding mainly mani titles.

You may create account around the specific keyword, but create a title as relevant as possible to that keyword and content.

Hope it helps!

Yes that is my problem, a few of my older posts, the titles are just the keyword and I was thinking of adding some words around the keyword so that it is not just the exact keyword. Thanks for the info and your input, I really appreciate it.
I will definitely be doing my titles according to Kyle's method from now on though. :)

Carl

Great question. Do you have a lot of pages that need to be fixed? It may be a lot of work and probably not good for you website's SEO structure if you already have it in place. If you are talking about 5 - 10 page titles, then you should be ok but make sure you to let Google know you are making these changes as well. The best advice I can give you is to move on and just continue creating new content with the titles you think will help improve your SEO.

I hope this helps!

Vin

Hi Vin and thanks for the input, Yes it is just a few posts, about 5 I think that I would change. I would definitely let Google know about the changes if I did change them though. Thanks and for replying. :)

Carl

Interesting suggestion... thank you. Do you tell Google by updating the sitemap?

Yes, Hà.
Thank you for pointing that out!

Good question! Since the titles are part of the URL, I don't know if there would be any repercussions to changing the title. I have not tried it. It could be that once the thing has been published it no longer matters what the title is.
You do put the keywords in the SEO title and description, though, whatever the actual title is.
Sheila

I would not change the main keyword in the title, which is also the in the URL, which I would not touch. Just add some more words around the existing title is what I am thinking of doing. For example, a post titled "Make money with Videos" I would change to something like "The best way to make money with videos" and I would leave the URL alone.

You could also put that in the SEO title. That is actually the title that appears in the Google search.
Sheila

That is true, thanks Sheila, I did not think of that. I will look into that. :)

Carl

Hi Carl, I'm wondering the same thing but I think it might cause problems to change the title now, so I'm looking forward to reading the answers you get.
Thanks for asking the question!! :)

Looking forward to some answers too. :)

Hello everyone. I have set up my domain emails for my websites to forward to Gmail and I was wondering how do you access Atmail here at WA. Where can u log in at and what crede

It helped me review the question. Thanks!

Hi Carl
If you have a forwarding email at WA, you don't have @Mail access here at WA, it will only have access with your email account you forwarded it to.

Here is a link to know more about EMail in WA: Let me know if you need any further help.

Regards

Edu

Thanks much for the info, Edu. I really appreciate. Now I know :)

Carl

You are most welcome Carl

If you go to Site Rubix and then site manager, look at the buttons near the top that all start with site. You will see one that is labeled site email. In there you can see you password if you click the button and another button that takes you to the webmail login.

I don't think that is available if you've forwarded the email. Am I wrong?

I'm pretty sure you have to choose to either forward it or use the webmail for you domain specific email. You can't do both.

Unless someone corrects me?

Thanks, I will check that out. Appreciate the reply. :)

Carl

No I think you are right, I'm sure it's one or the other

Not sure I understand you correctly but I don't think you can access your email at WA if you've forwarded it. May I ask why you want to access it? You'll get all the email to your Gmail anyways.

I was actually just curious to see if u could access the webmail. I use to have a regular webmail for my site but I now forward it and was just wondering if the access would change as well. I guess it does, lol, which is ok. Like I said, just wanted to know. Thanks for replying, much appreciate it. :)

Hi, if you want to avoid using a plugin you can try this online broken link checker:
http://www.brokenlinkcheck.com/broken-links.php
Blessings!

Thanks, that is the one I have been using and fixing my links. :)

Cool!

When you comment within WA you will usually leave your URL as protocol for the giving comments. Personally if someone took that privilege away I don't know if I would be as willing to leave a comment. Just a thought. That is just my opinion.

Tried and true

Elaine

Thanks Elaine, I appreciate your opinion. It looks like I might be leaving it there for now. :)

Wow, I didn't even know this was an issue. Thanks for bringing this up. It's definitely something to think about. I rarely put my URL in the comments section, I guess I didn't really know what it was for. I leave my name and email since those are usually required.

Thanks for your input. I appreciate it. I got some thinking to do on this one it seems, lol. :)

If it is an authority site in your niche, I would keep it for some google juice. Other than that, it just causes broken links when websites are abandoned.
John

So there is some Google juice associated with them then, cool., thanks for the info.
I have run into a bunch of abandoned sites it seems and now have broken links I am trying to sort out.

You are part of a community here in WA. When you let people leave their URL on comments you get on your site, you can comment on their website in return. It is a way of giving back. Nicole

Thanks Nicole for your input. I appreciate it. :)

I don't know if there is a benefit to your website, but there is a benefit to the commenter, and taking that away could affect whether or not someone leaves a comment.

When I leave a comment on someone else's site and I can add my website link, that is a link to my site from somewhere else and it factors into my rankings. Now, I like to hear myself talk, so I'd probably leave a comment whether you let me put in my website link or not. But if you took that away, it might cut down on the motivation of some people to leave a comment, especially if they could go to another, related site and leave a comment with their website link.

Thanks for the input Phil, I really appreciate it. That does make sense to me, I will have to really think about this now, lol. :)
It is just a pain to have to go and search through the comments to find which person left a bad link.

Carl

There are WordPress plugins that can automatically check your site, comments included, and tell you where broken links are.

Here's one, for instance:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/broken-link-checker/

Thanks Phil, I did not think of a plugin for that. I will check it out.

WA Affiliate Program
Updated

Hello everyone

Well, I am not even sure if this is possible but here it goes.

WA has a great page on their hosting services that they offer here. It is

Found it!

Where and how do I get this page?
I clicked on the site you gave above and it went directly to the page.
I checked my links and tracking, I can not find it?
Help, please. Thank you

U cannot use this page to link your affiliate ID to. it is not in links and tracking. It is just a regular website run by WA themselves.

I see. Thanks

In the rectangle right above your displayed post Carl!

Thanks Mike, I know about that link. Sry for the misunderstanding but I was not talking about this particular page but the website page of the link I have above. I would like to add my ID to that page.

Hey Carl,
The concept you are talking about is known in the affiliate world as deep linking. WA does support it, for the most part. When you append the following to any page:
/a_aid/123456X
where 123456X is your affiliate ID at WA, it should give you the credit. So, your example, it would be:
https://www.wealthyaffiliate.com/hosting/a_aid/123456X
Again, change 123456X to whatever your affiliate ID is.
I know this used to work and I believe it still does. If someone knows better that this has changed, feel free to chime in!
Best Regards,
Jim

Thanks very much Jim I appreciate the info. I will give that a try. Maybe I will run it by support first and see if they still allow it.

Thanks again :)

carl

Hey Carl, not a bad idea to run it by support. If you wouldn't mind updating us as to what they say, just so I know when advising for this in the future.
Thanks,
Jim

Sure, will do Jim. :)

Support said no. But do to really honest I am not sure they understood what I was asking. Their response was, No you cannot add your affiliate URL to the web page.
So that is where it is at at the moment.

Carl

oops .... to be really honest ...*

Thanks for the update, Carl. It must have changed. I seem to remember a post or training from Carson that specified how to do it, but I can't find it now. Ah well. Use the hosting post to create your own page. I know it's a bit of work. But, once you have it completed, you can use it for a long time going forward.

Best Regards,
Jim

Thanks for the info, I am checking into to now.

You are indeed welcome and thanks for the question.
