Although having a mentor is a great idea, don't focus too much on having one person to ping. The WA community is full of people willing to help. I'd argue you're better off posting questions for all (like this one). Not only will you get your questions answered or a reply to your idea you wanted to bounce around, but you'll probably get several!
Have you reached out to your direct mentor (the one who's link you used to join WA? You can find them by clicking on Help Center. There you will see Carson, Kyle and whoever you signed up under. Definitely reach out to them too.
Don't forget to use the search bar up top and type in a word or phrase on the subject you're looking for. You'll be amazed at how many posts, training and other questions related to it you'll find.
Another great resource is the Live Events link on the left here. Jay has produced tons of great trainings over the years.

I can't speak for my friend who left the post but I think having a mentor is very different than having a community willing to help with questions. A mentor will have taken the time to dig into one's website to really have an understanding of the situation. He will be knowledgeable about the skills and deficiencies of the mentee. Yeah, (smiles) mentee is a word. As a result, his advice comes from a background of understanding. That's one reason I think that a one-on-one mentorship program should be offered here. Even at a fee, it would be well worth it.

In WA the lower the WA rank the better. This is an internal WA rank thing. I do not advise focussing on that. Instead focus on the reasons why you are here which I assume is to build websites to make money.
That is , do the WA training, build website(s), keep learning here in WA and elsewhere, and keep writing good quality posts in the eyes of Google and your real life visitors so that your SEO is good. Keep learning and writing good posts for your websites.

It's truly astonishing, David - the number of WA folks who are more concerned with their "social rank" within the community - than they are with the success of their affiliate marketing websites.
I guess we all have our priorities...

The lower the ranking number the higher ranked you are. for eg Kyle and Carson are 1 and 2! It's encouraging to see one's ranking go up if you're not progressing much with your site etc, but it can also go down (higher number!) if you not active here commenting, liking posts, even making trainings etc. Also for eg, my own, I was doing quite well but then had other things going on and now it is dropping (higher number...)
I think this explanation makes sense! but others have also explained it. I hope you progress in all areas!

It can be a bit confusing at first Adel.
But normally when ranking gets smaller it is considered as going up.
So for example here at WA your current ranking is 169 as I type should you improve your ranking then the number will go down which is considered as going up.

As Andre says and you have determined that. I would say not to place too much emphasis on ranking alone, but to focus on your business and by deafult, if you are organised and work centrally from say your inbox, then you will keep a good rank and earn money

Yes, the ranking is great here in many ways but the main thing we need to remember is we came here originally to learn how to build a solid foundation with our websites and that will be the main revenue source.
Helping others posting training, giving comments (site comments) will certainly improve your ranking and can also bring some financial benefits and can give you much gratitude with the paying it forward.
But it is your website that is the greatest benefit to your success online.

It is quite true that all that glitters isn't necessary GOLD, However, I wouldn't be too quick to dismiss or pass up any chance or opportunity given to me just because I've been told that most programs that offer a great amount of money and value often appear to be SCAMS
I've been an affiliate for a year now and if there's anything I know and understand very well is the fact that this business is not a SPRINT but a MARATHON where each step you take along the way brings you closer and closer to achieving your dreams of 6-7 figures.
That being said, it should also be noted that different people put in different amounts of time and effort to achieve their goals.
i guess What I'm trying to say is if someone shows you something and tells you its possible to make money in no time that could mean 3-4 months for him or her and it could mean 3-4 years for you and you'll be left thinking to yourself you've been SCAMMED when the fact of the matter is he or she was willing to apply the TIME and EFFORT required to meet that goal in less time.
Wealthy Affiliate is a great platform that appeals to everyone that wants to make money online However you have to be patient and willing to put in the time and effort in order to see success in this. Some might see this and call it a scam some might say otherwise. But the point is to NEVER let people dictate your actions in life because your the only one that knows your STRENGTHS and WEAKNESSES and not the rest of the world that's willing to sacrifice most if not all their time in order to make money.
Moreover, The same scenario could also be seen for those shiny affiliate offers that look too good to be true. Do not take peoples opinions or sincerity as the truth because Most people are SINCERELY WRONG.

Adel, there are some good answer here to the question you have asked, what I would say is this, that while we all get fixated on the 5 & 6 Figure incomes, that is not the be all and end all of the mattter.
To some a lesser but more consistent figure would be a good way of gaging steady success, for EG some one might be equally happy earning twice their monthly salary, that was my goal when I started out and got there.

First of all, this is a very good question, there are definitely some very successful people here at Wealthy Affiliate. I believe that there are people making six figures a year and even more who are regularly making five figures. The main thing to remember is that the training works at Wealthy Affiliate, I have been working online since 2007 and this is the best training that I have seen.
I would remove yourself from the other platform Adel, it sounds like a complete waste of time. When I first started researching Internet marketing back in 2004, I purchased a lot of spam products that didn't work, I was eager to lever the power of the Internet, I was just getting the wrong information! Wealthy Affiliate is definitely the way ahead!

To the point and worth asking...I have found, as have you, that there are many scams out there, and lots of "get rich quick" offers...including the stock market. I do not think WA is a "get rich quick" business, but I do think it is an honest and legitimate one.
I am guessing there are a few top people on here that are making some dang good bucks. If they fess up, ask them what they did to make those bucks? I have a feeling they put in a great deal of effort.
I have only been in WA for 5 months. However, I believe that each of us in this organization has an opportunity to make some big bucks. I think in every case it will depend upon what that person puts into his business. We have to believe it possible, first. Then we have to do the work.
Think of the number of internet users out there! Is this not the best opportunity for actually tapping into the available market? We have to believe in ourselves and in the possibility, and try all avenues we can discover to move our business forward.
For me, I'm determined to "make my mark" without spending a whole lot of money because, frankly, I don't have a whole lot of money to spend. However, I think each of us can figure out our own way to get people to our website. If we have built a good platform, more and more traffic will come our way.
So I'm curious as to what answers you will get, also. However, whatever answers you get, I personally believe I can make a success of this business and meet my personal financial needs and desires.

First of all, this is a very good question, there are definitely some very successful people here at Wealthy Affiliate. I believe that there are people making six figures a year and even more who are regularly making five figures. The main thing to remember is that the training works at Wealthy Affiliate, I have been working online since 2007 and this is the best training that I have seen.
I would remove yourself from the other platform Adel, it sounds like a complete waste of time. When I first started researching Internet marketing back in 2004, I purchased a lot of spam products that didn't work, I was eager to lever the power of the Internet, I was just getting the wrong information! Wealthy Affiliate is definitely the way ahead!

To the point and worth asking...I have found, as have you, that there are many scams out there, and lots of "get rich quick" offers...including the stock market. I do not think WA is a "get rich quick" business, but I do think it is an honest and legitimate one.
I am guessing there are a few top people on here that are making some dang good bucks. If they fess up, ask them what they did to make those bucks? I have a feeling they put in a great deal of effort.
I have only been in WA for 5 months. However, I believe that each of us in this organization has an opportunity to make some big bucks. I think in every case it will depend upon what that person puts into his business. We have to believe it possible, first. Then we have to do the work.
Think of the number of internet users out there! Is this not the best opportunity for actually tapping into the available market? We have to believe in ourselves and in the possibility, and try all avenues we can discover to move our business forward.
For me, I'm determined to "make my mark" without spending a whole lot of money because, frankly, I don't have a whole lot of money to spend. However, I think each of us can figure out our own way to get people to our website. If we have built a good platform, more and more traffic will come our way.
So I'm curious as to what answers you will get, also. However, whatever answers you get, I personally believe I can make a success of this business and meet my personal financial needs and desires.

For people who has been in online business for some times, something too good to be true is most likely a scam. We pity those who are new and searching for genuine platform ended up with these 'gurus' who has no interest in them but more for their money.

Being a Canadian and knowing that Americans buy waaaay more, I signed up with Amazon dot com... and then OneLink was started: What is Amazon One Link? so now I am an associate with more countries... which means my Amazon links go to the country of the person clicking my links... unless they are from a country I was not accepted in... then they go to Amazon dot com.

Not sure why you need API but currently they made it difficult to have one. You have to be an approved affiliate first.
You can become an affiliate of most of their 15 stores regardless of where you live.
If you're currently in Japan, you can only work with Amazon Japan unless you're on a VPN or you have a US real phone number to verify the account for US.

This is not so, I am not in the US and I am an affiliate of the US Amazon store as well as 7 others.
I think Israel is right it depends on the country where you live in my case I need to have a US number where they send a PIN that you get when signing up. I live in SE Asia
My comment was on what he wrote, cannot make any statement on your case. But, I signed for Amazon-Jp from EU and I too received an automated call with a PIN, and I have no japanesse phone number. Also, have 8 Amazon affiliate stores in the list and as you can imagine I cannot live in 8 places.
There are countries not on the list excluded so they can't get a call, but anyhow there are ways to go around that.
There are no such calls procedure for EU Amazon stores, at least I have not had them. The same holds when I applied to Amazon-Ca, do not remember how it was with Amazon-US.
You can work with multiple Amazon localities. It all boils down to where you think people will be ordering from (if it's the US then go with US) and if/how Amazon will pay you based on where your accounts are.

however, for the API, as Amazon has advised , they will only give you the API Access Key once you have sales in your Amazon Affiliate account.

yes, it is good to contact Amazon to seek clarification and Amazon will always get back to you within a day, just post them a question in the feedback and you get the answer within a day or less sometimes

I can't speak for my friend who left the post but I think having a mentor is very different than having a community willing to help with questions. A mentor will have taken the time to dig into one's website to really have an understanding of the situation. He will be knowledgeable about the skills and deficiencies of the mentee. Yeah, (smiles) mentee is a word. As a result, his advice comes from a background of understanding. That's one reason I think that a one-on-one mentorship program should be offered here. Even at a fee, it would be well worth it.
