Hello WA Family, I hope you are all well and staying safe in these crazy times.
Does anyone know how to upload very large videos to YouTube? I want to upload some videos
I upload large videos all the time. It sounds like you may need to upgrade your internet. That's what I had to do. You're no longer a leisure internet user. Hahaha.
I have the best internet I can have in Turkey... are you uploading videos larger than 8 GB? My videos are 8 hours and 10 hours
Just thinking with these crazy lockdowns maybe too many people on the internet which is slowing it down...
I had to go and take a look at how big the files are. No. My files aren't 8 GB each. My videos are between 25 min to 1 hr. If you're using the best internet, then the only thing I can suggest is to break the video into part 1, part 2, and so on. I haven't tried uploading a video that long, but breaking it up may help with your audience retention on the video as well as actually getting it to upload.
You may be right that the usage of Youtube may cause upload times to be slower. I haven't personally had a problem with it though. Best wishes on getting your video uploaded.
I have inexpensive internet access and am not seeing that as an issue.
However, many YouTube users have complained about being bumped off YouTube and it is my guess that the servers are becoming overloaded, given that so many of us are home all day now.
Instead, I will be uploading my videos during late evening.

I have just had my Facebook page unpublised by FB due to violation of terms.
Has this happened to you? If yes what did you do?
I appealed and got the same answer,
Hi Moni, the only thing I can think of here is maybe you have posted an affiliate link, I understand many Social Media platforms are becoming very strict here, they seem to term this as spam.
I got suspended from Google+ for a fortnight for violating their terms, a while back. Trying to find the reason why is near impossible, nobody answers your query.
I put the reason's down to an affiliate link I had posted. Since then I only post web-post links on my Facebook page & Google+ that lead back to my website.

Simon, I THINK maybe this is the case as I did put a link to an article on an external site and in that article link there was an affiliate link.
This is my guess after speaking with lots of people.
It's so frustrating when I can't communicate with someone to find out what I did that violated the FB terms.

One of the things about Facebook is that we need to be very strategic about how we engage and also we need to refine our messages and how we express them.
The thing about Fan pages is that originally they were designed for entities like businesses, organizations, celebrities, and political figures to represent themselves on Facebook. Unlike a personal Facebook profile, fan pages are visible to everybody on the Internet.
The take-home here is that we always think it is the platform it can be other users, that click that "report this post ", the level of automation makes it easy for folks to click spam and the response from the platform will be automatic.
One of the hardest things about dealing with the larger platforms and this includes G+ is that they are among the worst communicators online, so when we do infringe it can be like getting blood out of a stone finding out the why.
Facebook is under a lot of pressure at this time, to tidy up their ship with all the revelations that have been coming out about how they operate.
So as marketers we need to adapt to how we engage and express, some folks are moving to create Facebook groups that are related to their websites, with a group you have more control over the message and who participates, it is a way to build engagement, just a thought.
If you were linking to your website it should have been fine and the content that you were posting added value no problem, if you were posting raw links in your posts it would only be time before those infringements were penalized.
Just some thoughts, I have had fan pages unpublished in the past, so sympathize with you.

After reading your response I am thinking MAYBE it was an affiliate link.
Normally, I never put affiliate links and only links to my article, however, there was a very interesting article " How a love of languages supplements a retired teacher's pension" but this was wrapped up with an affiliate link. I found value in the article and thought my followers may also find some value.
Truth is I don't know for sure what I have done that I should not have done and if FB doesn't tell me I will never know.
I like your idea of maybe setting up a group and will consider this.
FB unpublishing my page is not the end of the world and I will continue without wasting any more of my time with this. :-)
Alex, I am curious, what did you do when FB unpublished your pages? Did you just set up another page?

My niche is making money online and I do reviews of online programs.
I share my articles on my FB page to warn people against scams and present legitimate online opportunities.
Recently I wrote a couple of articles on Network Marketing and I think it may be those articles as FB does not like Network Marketing.
The challenge is I can't even delete those articles :-)
That’s interesting... there are certainly many people writing on exactly the same topic, and without issue. I haven’t heard of a page being unpublished due to a one-time transgression, either.
The recent purges have more to do with identifying certain patterns of activity, and identifying clusters of like-behaviours.
You mentioned that you also shared some links on your page just for fun. What kinds of things?

Are you posting your articles from your website on fb with links if so that may be the problem
I do post my articles to my fan page as do most of the people I know.
I do post other things to entertain and educate my followers. If posting my articles to bring value to my followers is against FB terms then it seems like a waste of time having a fan page.
I just wish someone at FB would just tell what I have done that I am not supposed to do!

Personally, I have left a blog without commenting whenever I am asked to sign in somewhere else just to leave a message.
There are so many other easier ways to protect your website from spammers rather than ask you website visitors to "jump through hoops" just to leave you a message.
However, this is my take on this subject.

It is less than 24 hours since I added the Disqus plugin and I am still learning the features of Disqus. I believe there is an option to not ask for people to sign in to leave a comment.
At the moment I am having fun just exploring what is possible and what isn't possible with Disqus. I do like the look of the comment area with Disqus and the opportunity to monetize the comments area later down the road.

It really works for naturally getting more comments on your blog.

No not, for chatting with my audience I am using Discord, comes with your own server and you can setup admins and roles.
Many pro's use this system, it is free and pretty good.
But ok if you want to offer the users of Disqus to react on your blogs, it can be useful, question is why, what are your intentions?

However, you should never upload videos to WordPress. Videos are large files and serving them directly may cause issues with your WordPress hosting service.

the above does work - but what you may want to do for responsive operation is to have a still picture link to a larger video size - or a page with a single video embedded
it is using a plugin wpedit - i had to resize the videos 240 by 150 to make 3 fit on a page side by side
when narrowing my browser window the videos all squashed down and would look funny when played - but using an image and opening a page with the video embedded - just tried the share link and it works but jumps over to youtube.
or as you say a dedicated plugin - just tried youtube plugin - you need to get an api key but looks like it will do everything you want without messing around.
