The starter membership is free forever but once you upgrade you can't go back to the starter membership. You can cancel your premium membership anytime from your account settings.
But if you cancel your membership you will be locked out of Weatlhy Affiliate and you won't be able to access the platform without rejoining as a premium member.
You will also lose any websites you have hosted here so make sure to back them up and move them to another hosting provider before leaving.
You can join as a starter member using a different email address but I advise against doing this as I think it might be against Wealthy Affiliate's rules but you could ask Kyle to confirm.
I recommend upgrading when you are ready and have the money but don't give up and cancel after one month. Starting an online business is a commitment and an investment. You need to be in it for the long haul if you decide it's something you want to do.

Hi Michael,
The clearest way to see if a member has upgraded is via your WA Affiliate dashboard. You can access that by clicking the $ icon at the top right. Then click Referrals. Here you will see who has upgraded to Premium or Premium Plus. New paid members if not active could still be unranked.
Another way is to look at their profile image, If they have upgraded to Premium, you will see the blue diamond symbol attached. Premium Plus members have a gold crown with a black background attached.
Did you know that Wealthy Affiliate allows you to create automatic personalized messages you can send to your referrals? Until they upgrade, you can only choose to have these messages sent to their Profile Page. Once they upgrade, you can then send them PMs.
The system allows you to send messages at any time interval after the referral either action or doesn't. You can get training on how to do this in the Bootcamp training

As Kyle said unranked means the member is not active. Free starter members and premium members can both be unranked if they are not active.
If you don't sign up to Wealthy Affiliate in any way you will not have a profile or be a member. There is no other way of explaining this.
Simply put if you can see someone's profile they are a member on WA. Unranked just means they are not active. The rankings will improve the more active the members are.

It's alright to ask for help but the way you describe the situation sounds hopeless.
First things first. Change your attitude to I can't fail positivity. Don't plan to fail or sit around waiting for help. Ask for help but keep working on the problem. When help does arrive you may have solved the problem already or at least you will have new information to add.
WA is just one tool. Also try YouTube and other resources for help. You have years of learning ahead of you and this will be your new way of life for now on. Solving problems and kicking butt.
You can conquer this problem and move on to the next one.

From your wording I think you have the idea of what a Domain is all wrong. If you have purchased a Domain name already and now you want to point it to WA, it is very easy to do.
