Hello everyone, my name is Jeff and I am originally from Dallas, Texas, though I have lived in Kansas for the last 36 years. I am a 54 year old married man with ten children and three grandchildren. I am a Christian, a United States Army veteran, and a locksmith in my town, which is Junction City, KS USA, home to Ft. Riley and the US Army's BIG RED ONE--First Infantry Division (where I was stationed). After the Army, and while I was still attending Kansas State University, I started my own business here--it's called J & J Locksmith Service, and has been a successful going concern for the past 30 years.

I became a proud 1996 graduate of Kansas State University--GO WILDCATS--with degrees in Accounting, Management, and Finance, and a minor in Economics. The diploma certainly looks good on the wall, but since I already had my business started, I stuck with them, since I enjoyed being my OWN boss, and realized there was no turning back after that initial taste of success.

As I've gotten older, I found out I was a type two diabetic, after an infection in my right foot forced me to have half of my right foot amputated in December of 2015, I have slowed down somewhat--even though I manage quite well without it.

Since I was a kid (around age 11), I had always been writing stories in spiral notebooks, continuing in the Army at times when I was on guard duty, etc., but after I finished school and got serious into my business, I found that I no longer had time for it. After the operation, while waiting to heal enough to get back to work, I began writing again in earnest, and haven't stopped since. This prompted me to become a self-published author, having now written a number of historical science-fiction novels (15 in the Bermuda's Secret series) under the Nom de Plume, J. Lynn Brown--which is my first initial and my full middle and last name. I do this to differentiate myself from a prolific author with many works by the same given name as mine so that I might also stand out.

The novels start at the end of the American Civil War and follow a large group of Confederate refugees who flee the United States to search for a new place to call home after the defeat of the Confederacy. During their voyage, they get hopelessly lost in the Bermuda Triangle ending up in another magical place with some interesting fantasy creatures and other characters, There is a little magic and everyday life mixed in for good measure. The novels are part of a series called Bermuda's Secret. There is a sequel series with some manuscripts on the drawing board, and notes for more.

I have placed them on the Amazon Kindle Platform (Kindle Direct Publishing). I currently have about 21 books published and live on there (15 from the series, 1 stand-alone mini-novel ("The County"), 3 image books and 2 blog books).

If anyone chooses to read them I would appreciate a review--good or bad, I NEED the criticism or praise to let me know how I am doing. Best of all, you can also read them for free if you're an Amazon Prime member (I think only in the US and possibly the UK). If you aren't a prime member, they are all reasonably priced, The e-books are in the $2.99-$4,99 price range. The Bermuda's Secret Series and The County are also available in paperbacks. AGAIN, I COULD CERTAINLY USE THE REVIEWS.

Wealthy Affiliate will eventually be VERY instrumental in my marketing plan for these serial novels, and other books that I'm working on--I already have domain names purchased and a few websites for my books and other niches, but I'm just reading and learning here for right now, though I'll eventually get all those sites up and running a lot better than they are now. (I know--procrastination!)

During my locksmith career and my budding writing career, I've also been a long-time avid eBay store owner (since 2002), and that takes up a lot of my extra time as well My user id is texasnational, and my store is called Tex's Surplus and collectibles. Even though I sound pretty busy, I believe that having these three income sources will pan-out in the long-run. I am also working very slowly on building a Woocommerce site here too to eventually reduce my eBay footprint.

I have never been one to place all my eggs in one basket, since usually at least one avenue is generating income for me, if there is a down-turn in any of the others. Occasionally, they all three kick in, though not often...YET!

I ALSO HAVE A YOUTUBE CHANNEL-- YOU CAN FIND IT HERE:

I have a new Linkedin profile too: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeffrey-brown-197763227

As I said before, this WA platform is just what I'm looking for to enhance my different interests with the use of the websites since the internet is the way for the future, and the education, coupled with the vibrant and helpful community here is out of this world, so I figured why not? The people here are genuine and pretty cool. Besides, this could be the platform that finally ties everything else together for me and helps it all run smoother!

Best SUCCESS to everyone who joins--for the cost, in my opinion, it is money well spent--you couldn't even pay for one decent half-semester college class for the annual WA dues! It truly is a University of Opportunity, Wealth, and knowledge for those who apply themselves!!

Hey Jeffrey, thanks for the feedback on my page! (I followed you here looking for your page address)

When I saw you are 52, I thought, oh we probably have much in common! Then I saw you have 7 kids and a few grandchildren. That made me laugh because Im 53 and only have one child, a 6 year old daughter.

I too used to write a lot in my younger days, before marriage; and paint. It's the perfect defense mechanism you know - sublimation. (channel your libido into a creative activity.

Terribly ironic that you should get through the army unscathed, and then end up losing parts of your limbs due to sickness! Somehow I've got the feeling your "unfair" health condition will make you a stronger and more enlightened person.

Be well my friend!
Best wishes,
Michael

Hi Jeff,

I want to personally thank you for following and I am following you.

Very nice profile. Seems you certainly have had your share of experiences and a lot of tenacity and determination to overcome and achieve.

Jeff your novels sound interesting and intriguing. I look forward to reading some of them, perhaps all of them soon.

Meanwhile, I look forward to your further achievements and accomplishments.

Sincerely Best Regards and Wishes,

G. LeBlanc

Nice profile Jeff, thanks for sharing! I see a lot of people just follow everyone, but I am trying to be selective here of people who are earnest, have a positive spirit, and not necessary here for a long time, but the time they have put here and their results. I see some that have been here a couple of years, but do not blogs or websites listed. And I say to myself, what are they doing and why are they here. I am a goal driven person who always succeeds at something I greatly desire and put my mind to. So I have decided to follow you and maybe in the future when I get a little more settled here, I will check out your books. Right now, it's enough keeping up with comments, mail and trying to get a website built. See you around! Kerry

Hi Jeff Thanks for follow. Very impressive resume and a hard act to follow. Time permitting I will check into the Confederate series, for some reason I have always gravitated toward the Civil War and WWII. ( I can understand my interest WWII in because my father, uncles, cousins served in the EU & the Pacific, not sure why I am fascinated with Civil War stories. Thanks again. Be well.

distinguished military service during that horrendous conflict!

Thank you very much for your background. It's encouraging to read about your life style and how you are managing to over come the obstacles a little at a time. That is scriptural "a little here, and a little there." Praying for your success and walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 10:13
