Hello everyone, my name is Jeff and I am originally from Dallas, Texas, though I have lived in Kansas for the last 33 years. I am a 52 year old married man with seven children and two grandchildren. I am a Christian, a United States Army veteran, and a locksmith in my town, which is Junction City, KS USA, home to Ft. Riley and the US Army's BIG RED ONE--First Infantry Division. After the Army, and while I was still attending Kansas State University, I started my own business here--it's called J & J Locksmith Service, and has been a successful going concern for the past 26 years.

I became a proud 1996 graduate of Kansas State University--GO WILDCATS--with degrees in Accounting, Management, and Finance, and a minor in Economics. The diploma certainly looks good on the wall, but since I already had my business started, I stuck with it, since I enjoyed being my OWN boss, and realized there was no turning back after that initial taste of success.

As I've gotten older, I found out I was a type two diabetic, after an infection in my right foot forced me to have all the toes and half the rest of it amputated in December of 2015, I have slowed down somewhat--even though I manage quite well without it. Since I was a kid I had always been writing stories in spiral notebooks, continuing in the army at times when I was on guard duty, etc., but after I finished school and got serious into my business, I found that I no longer had time for it. After the operation, while waiting to heal enough to get back to work, I began writing again in earnest, and haven't stopped since. This prompted me to become a self-published author, having now written 6 historical science-fiction novels (These were combined from 12 of 17 that I've written into longer books which seem to be selling better) under the name J. Lynn Brown--which is my first initial and my full middle and last name. I do this to differentiate myself from a prolific author with many works by the same given name as mine so that I might also stand out.

The novels start at the end of the American Civil War and follow a large group of Confederate refugees who flee the United States to search for a new place to call home after the defeat of the Confederacy. During their voyage, they get hopelessly lost in the Bermuda Triangle ending up in another magical place with some interesting fantasy creatures and other characters, with a little magic and everyday life mixed in for good measure. The novels are part of a series called Bermuda's Secret (The very first one of which is called Bermuda's Secret). I have placed them on the Amazon Kindle Platform (Kindle Direct Publishing). I currently have FIVE published on Amazon right now, with many more in the works. If anyone is interested you can go to Amazon, and search using the keywords Bermuda's Secret Magical. This should bring up my novels, which average between 2-400 pages each. If anyone chooses to read them I would appreciate a review--good or bad, I NEED the criticism or praise to let me know how I am doing. The current titles are BERMUDA'S SECRET, TERAMISSIAN CONFEDERATION, RUKAANIAN EMPIRE, WARFARE on the ISLAND, DESPERATE DEFENSE, and another coming out after the first of the year called RUKAANIAN RESURGENCE. There is still another that I'm working on called SPRING INVASION which hopefully will be ready by Spring 2020 (go figure). I also managed to release a small dystopian satirical book about Municipal Government Run Amok called THE COUNTY. Best of all, you can also read them for free if you're an Amazon Prime member (I think only in the US and possibly the UK). If you aren't a prime member, they are all reasonably priced, $7.99 or less depending on if they're on sale, AND AGAIN, I COULD CERTAINLY USE THE REVIEWS.

Wealthy Affiliate will eventually be VERY instrumental in my marketing plan for these serial novels, and other books that I'm working on--I already have domain names purchased and a few websites for my books and other niches, but I'm just reading and learning here for right now, though I'll eventually get all those sites up and running a lot better than they are now. (I know--procrastination!)

During my locksmith career and my budding writing career, I've also been a long-time avid EBAY store owner (since 2002), and that takes up a lot of my extra time as well My user id is texasnational, and my store is called Tex's Surplus and collectibles. Even though I sound pretty busy, I believe that having these three income sources will pan-out in the long-run. I have never been one to place all my eggs in one basket, since usually at least one avenue is generating income for me, if there is a down-turn in any of the others. Occasionally, they all three kick in, though not often...YET!

As I said before, this WA platform is just what I'm looking for to enhance my different interests with the use of the websites since the internet is the way for the future, and the education, coupled with the vibrant and helpful community here is out of this world, so I figured why not? The people here are genuine and pretty cool. Besides, this could be the platform that finally ties everything else together for me and helps it all run smoother! Best SUCCESS to everyone who joins--for the cost, in my opinion, it is money well spent--you couldn't even pay for one decent half-semester college class for the annual WA dues! It truly is a University of Opportunity, Wealth, and knowledge for those who apply themselves!!

Hi Jeff! Thanks for following me - I have followed you also. I'm excited to have you in my network & even more excited to meet an amazon author. I have written poetry & memoirs, publishing two of my books of poetry (self-published) but I no longer share them with the world. I'd like to revise & actually publish with amazon in the future as well. I'll be sure to search for your work on amazon! :)

On a side note, my dad was an army vet as well, & I was born on base. Happy to meet you.

Here's to our success! :)

Thanks for the welcome Jeffrey. I am sorry to hear about your surgery on your toes. You did not let that stop you. You are an accomplished author on various topics. I have always been interested in the Bermuda Triangle and whether it is true or a hoax. You do a variety of things and I hope it all comes together for you.

Thank you! To publish a book through Amazon, just type in kindle direct publishing in your browser, enter the site, and set up your free account. Everything is step-by-step, and everything you want to know about it can be found there. Once you have written your book (does not even have to be really long) You will upload your manuscript. You can also upload a cover of your own like I did--mine are juvenile, but it is difficult for me to do them on Microsoft paint. My daughter is going to paint some. Also they have a cover creator at kindle direct which you can use for free--I have not tried that yet. Go ahead and give kindle direct a look, but do not get hung up about a copyright--once you have written something, you own that copyright. So far, I have three of my books copyrighted through the US copyright office, and several more are pending. Being copyrighted through the copyright office gives you 'copyright protection'. Check it out, and if there is something you do not understand, message me, and I'll try to see if I know it. Best of all--have fun--it is free to list and can stay on there as long as you want. You only pay Amazon when a book sells--There are different royalties you can choose from. I'm long-winded--hope this helps you start!
