Hey Karen,

I found this tutorial from Nathaniell... Monica

Really useful information for the future but the post is not on my site at all. It seems that they have used my website name and stuck a silly name at the end. So visitors are getting a 404. I have emailed them to remove it but have had no response so I don’t know what to do as I cannot personally remove the link.
I might make a post with the silly url they chose so it goes to at Least a decent post.

Ok Karen,

Sorry about that. What does Site Support say?

Monica

It’s outside of their remit as the link is on another site that they have no control over

Thanks for letting me know... yikes, well, I hope you can get it straightened out.

Wishing you well!!

Monica

Hey Karen,

Is https://semalt.com/ your website?

Reason I ask is that the broken link checker Robert suggested you use, displays several broken links and shows EXACTLY where those links are located.

Hope this helps you.

No that is the site that is promoting the broken link to my site. I put mine through the broken link checker and it wasn’t there so it’s coming from them. I have emailed them and an awaiting response.

Google searching some of what you state... here's what I found that MIGHT offer you a resolve:

Thank you I will take a look

I hope you find a graceful and gratitudinous solution, Karen!

Not feeling very graceful or full of gratitude right now Mike. This is a big frustration as I am getting quite a lot of traffic to it but cannot find it as a broken link. I’m not very technical and do not know how to fix this one

its probs a broken link

Enjoy your Sunday.

Thank you... I worked out through Google analytics that it was coming from https://semalt.com/ but I have no idea where on their site the link is. I tried putting my website and the link in their search but there are no results.

Karen its probably within one of the comments you received.

copy/paste that link into your comments search box in WP for that site and find out.

I tried that and nothing shows so it’s not in my comments

I had a similar issue once, and it was indeed coming from one of the comments I had...

I’ve checked comments and can’t find anything

It might be a bad backlink as well James.
Now I'm off out so maybe catch you later and Karen will have found out what the problem is.
Robert

Fingers crossed Karen manages to locate it, as having a 404 page is a pain in the nether regions...

That's pretty weird...

Hey, Karen...if all else fails, can't you contact the site and ask them to check out things from their end?

I might just do that

:)

Did that but still no reply.. anyone else got any ideas? I have thought about creating a WA post with the url they are promoting so at least visitors see something... good idea or bad idea?

Karen, could you have bagged a virus, or a trojan, and that's what's messing you about?

I don’t think so, the traffic to it has now slowed to a trickle and most of the traffic came over a 3 day period so I guess they published something with the bad link in at that point.

I see...it's all so very weird this situation of yours.

So do I understand that the 404 is not showing up anymore?

I am not getting any emails through from wealthy affiliate. I usually get at least 50 a day and for past two days none at all. I have checked my settings and all notifications

Hey Karen,

Go to https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/home/my_profile and scroll down to "Email Notification Settings" and make sure the correct email address is there along with the Yes button being ON to the question "Do you want to receive email?".

Then, check under "Notifications" by clicking on Edit and make sure all of the appropriate boxes are check marked. If not, then check mark them.

Providing ALL issues are OKAY and NO changes needed, then I would be contacting Carson in a private message. When/if you do that then make sure you select an option that offers you a form that is clearly labeled "Contact Kyle or Carson" else you will be posting your communication into another classroom.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for this. I have checked everything and all is okay and ticked. Time to contact Carson

Is the keyword tool available to use for free members?

I used my 30 free searches in ten minutes so went premium!

Paul

Here you have a comparison chart between Free & Premium Membership. In the Keyword Research Tool it says you have 30 searches as a Free Member and unlimited searches as Premium. Here is the link to that chart: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/banners

Thank you so much. The answer was there in plain sight all the time.

LOL!!! That's too funny...I wasn;t sure myself, and there answer is right there...clear as day. Thanks, Henry!

Sometimes it's just that easy, Karen. Well, glad you asked because now I know for certain!

Those 30 searches are on Jaaxy only, not the WA Keyword Tool.

No at all

I do not think so

I thought the Keyword Tool is free, and that Jaaxy has to be paid for, although you get 30 free searches on it.

That's what I thought too.

This is what I thought too. I wish someone could actually confirm it for me as there are so many different answers here.

No, but anyone can get 30 free searches at Jaaxy.

Only for 30 searches.

I am premium so cannot check. I cannot remember and don't want to tell someone something that is not right

Hi, Karen, you get 30 searches however I'm not sure if that is for the life of the free member or per month.
Tx, Gary

I thought the 30 searches was with Jaaxy but cannot remember what happens with keyword tool on here

I have to admit, I just looked at the table on the banner that you see when you click on the airplane above. It says 30 searches which does correspond to Jaaxy but it didn't really specifiy.

Hi, yes I think it is, click on it and see : )

I have noticed that I have pages on my website that should really be posts. Unfortunately I have requested comments on these through WA . I want to change them to posts but am

I haven't exactly figured out yet what the difference is between a page and a post. I have done both on my site. I'm wondering if I need to put them all in posts or all in pages. Any advice?

The training tells you to do your "about me" and your "privacy policy" as a page and then all others as a post. I have added a couple of pages, one which describes what my site is about and then a kind of navigation page which I use to link posts to.
Hope this is helpful

That should not be a problem Karen. The comments are about the content not whether it is a page or post.

There are plugins for the job, at least two. I have used pTypeConverter, it will do the job in no time. After that disable the plugin. All will be preserved, no worry. I have converted around 50 pages to posts.

This worked a treat. Thank you very much for your help.

So great to hear this. Most welcome Karen.

When I had this problem on my site I just copied and pasted the page into a new post then deleted the one I did not want.

Hi I have finally got my adsense code which took about a week. Now if I remember I only gave them one website. I have 2 other sites. Do I need to ask Google for a different co

Hank you so much for all of your replies.

Karen

no, after you got approved from adsense, then you can use that adsense code with unlimited domain as you wish. Dont worry and no need to register another adsense account with your new domains at all. What you have to respect is TOS of adsense or you will be banned.

I create a new ad for each website so I can keep track of which sites are earning money. Also you can change the colors to blend in with the different sites.

Hello, Yes you can use the same code on multiple sites. Ads would be relevant to the topic/content on each site. The downside is that managing channels and seeing results will be difficult when you have a Adsense block on several sites. But short answer, yes you can!

Hope this is the info you were seeking.
Have a great Thursday.

Thanks Robert-A!
