Hello,
So, I'm confused as usual, lol... I'm using the Generate Press Premium theme. How do I place a stationary feature image below my main menu and above my blog roll?
Oh, yeah....When you customize the blog, you can customize the blog single article, and the blog archive., separately.
Show the image above the title on the blog archive, and show the image below the title on the single post.
Rudy
Hi Rudy,
Thank you for your quick response.
I did the following:
- Appearance
- Customize
- Layout > Blog > Featured Images, selected Posts and then set Location to Above Content Area
- Ok, and I removed the checkmark from Display featured images
Hi Rudy,
I'm not sure if it helped. I put an image below of what I want. If I did the right steps, I don't know where to go to place featured image because there's nothing in that area that allows me to place the image.
There’s a cover block you could use to get that nice full width image with text and more overlayed over the top. You can check out this video and see if it helps. How to Add an Image with Text Overlay to Your Posts Using the Cover Block
Yeah, that too. I sent here a private message to see her website . She used a header image for the previous website, and wasn't able to recall 'how she did that'...grin.
We've all had those moments...grin.
Thanks, Eric,
Rudy
Hey Eric,
Thank you. I'm sorry I didn't get back to you earlier. I was watching my Oilers lose to Canucks. I just finished watching your YouTube. I'm going to use the 'Cover' in my next post.
I found what I was looking for... I didn't ask my question very well. Sorry! The right wording I should have used was 'Header image' and I finally just found it after Rudy mentioned the type of image I was looking for.
Eric, can you please tell me the name of your training the one where you showed Neil Patel's site? I have been looking for it for the past few days.
Thanks again for your help, Eric!
Have a blessed Sunday.

Monica
If I remember correctly it was one where I talked about color. I remember his site using color for his branding very well.
Try this one: Website Design Theory: Background Colors, Text Colors, and Images
Hey Eric,
Thank you! Yes, this is the class I've been looking for. I just watched and it gave me some helpful ideas. Peeeerrrrfect!

Hi Monica,
It's all about Customizing.
On the edit page, you can add a featured image.
In Appearance>>Customize, you can modify the blog archive and post pages.
(OH- ADDED) : When using GP Premium, disable the 'show feature image' on the page before saving it.
THEN:
Under the Blog layout, you can check or uncheck the 'show featured image' tab.
If you add a featured image, make sure to uncheck the blog featured image view' in the customizer.
This will prevent the duplication of the same image being viewed twice.
If you are still having problems, let me know!
Rudy

Hey Phil,
Ok, that's what I thought... I might still do the WordPress exporter and get all my old site images in one folder on my hard drive and then drag each image into its proper new folders ... i.e. just work on it from my hard drive.
Thank you for the helpful information.
Ya, my sites have tanked too but it's my fault, I haven't published content in over 2 years. My new site is exciting and the training from Eric Cantu's WordPress Wisdom', I think that's what it's called is refreshing my memory. And I'm following tasks from the training in the Hub.
I spent some time on Vancouver Island, helping my sister who has cancer. She still has a long road to travel. I'm back home...my writing is taking forever even with AI Author. Lol...

I know the feeling about publishing , i need to get back into it...pleased you are writing again...
I'm glad your sister is on the road to recovery, albeit a long one....
Hey Monica,
Don't forget, you can also retrieve your images using your FTP access, providing the old site is not a SiteRubix site.
Hope you find this helpful.
Hey Trish,
Wonderful to hear from you. How are you doing?
This is helpful and interesting, I forgot about the FTP... ummm, I'll check this out too. No, my old site is not a SiteRubix site. Looks like I have a good number of solutions.
Thank you, Trish, for your help.
Have a blessed new week. I hope all is well for you.

Hey Trish - i found out that even siterubix now have ftp access ....
just debugged one of my test sites with a plugin incompatibility and the critical error...
renamed the plugin directory to prove it was in there...
and yep that cleared it ...
so put it back and then went through each plugin and added -rem to hte directory until i found the one that was causing the error...
just check that everything is still activated if you ever have to do this....
Oh WOW Phil, this IS good news. I'll check my SiteRubix sites to see if they have FTP access now too... or if it's only certain sites that have it.
Your tips are amazing, THANK YOU Phil!
Assuming you still have access to the old site all you need to do is go into the Media Library, click on the image you need and you then have the option to download it to wherever you want.
Hi Colette and Philip,
Thank you for your help. I have access to my old site and I just found the download option. Interesting...ok, I'll give that a go.
Have a blessed evening.

If you saved images to a folder on your computer, you can reuse those same images.
You might also be able to export your media library into a folder on your computer, where you can then upload to the new website media library.
Rudy
Hey Rudy,

Hi Monica,
I am doing well, thanks for asking!
You can also go to your old website media library and individually open each image to 'edit' then right- click to save image.

Hi Rudy,
You're welcome! I'm happy to hear you're doing well.
Nice... well, I did as you suggested and it worked perfectly. Thank you for your help.
Have a blessed new week.

Did you save the images to your media library?
if you remember what you named them ( or if you're like me and unorganized, you can scroll through them and find them). If you didn't save them, you could go back to where you got them and download them again. I have copied an image and put it in canva and downloaded it before, depending on the image it works well.
Hey Kerri,
Thank you for your help. Yes, I have all the images in my media library.
Yikes, I am 101% unorganized. I'm going to have to scroll through them. I'm thinking of downloading the images I want for each new content into a hard drive. I want to also use the copied image in Canva.
Thanks again, Kerri. Have a blessed evening.

Hi Abie,
Wonderful to hear from you. I do want to.
I'm still for some reason, finding that writing my draft content through Google Docs or SiteContent is challenging to finish until I bring it into WordPress.
Once it's in WordPress, I get the 'ah ha' moment and finish my writing, then add images, links, etc. I'm working on my new site, lol, the same niche but not writing as fast as I like. Still trying to get the hang of AI Author.... I think I'm too picky and it gives me too much information. Maybe I'm asking AI the wrong questions.
Reasons for my madness, lol!
Thank you, Abie. I like your question.
Have a blessed Sunday!
Regards,
Monica
Yes. In your site's back office, find the post, click on it and change the status from published to draft.
Check in the right sidebar. Click on Public next to Visibility. There should be a button Switch to Draft.
Hey Phil,
Thank you for your help. I followed your instructions and it worked perfectly.
Does it hurt my site, if I do this with all of my new content moving forward?
Thank you, Phil. I appreciate your help and quick response.
Have a blessed weekend.

Hey Catherine,
Nice! I'm so glad you responded this way... I feel so much better. A wonderful feeling to have doubts removed.
Have a blessed Sunday, Catherine, and thank you.

Hey Abie,
Double thank you! You too, have a blessed Sunday.... I sure missed you and I'm slowly getting back and spending more time. I'm doing my training over again. My last content written was over 2 years ago.... lots of great changes here and I'm excited to be part of it.
My writing even with AI Author has been slow progress. I looked back at my old dive site and I can't believe how crappy my writing was. I've been following Eric Cantu's training as well and it's helping me to keep content short and to the point with quality and helpful info.
How are you doing?

I’m glad you were helped with this. The rankings change constantly. You probably cannot take them to be current, though. All the best to you!

I wish you much success too on your online business. Have a wonderful Friday and weekend.

I've been away for a little bit... life's challenges.

Oh, I have a new member who recently became a Premium member and so I wanted to help her with following more members.
Ohhhh, double thank you, Abie! Gosh, I haven't written any content for some months now so hopefully, I'll start writing this weekend. Can't wait.
The good part is, I have some posts that are ranking on Google's first page.
How are you doing? I hope all is going well for you.
On the left hand side, where it shows your membership level and rank, you can click on rank to see a list of Ambassadors (top 25). Then the View More button and then again. It doesn't show all members. Just the top 200.
Hi Phil,
Thank you for your help. I appreciate it.
I went into my Profile and clicked on my rank but it didn't do anything. I did use the link that Abie sent and found the list of members with their rankings.

Yes, if I click on my rank, it shows what I described.
Sorry it doesn't do that for you, but glad Abie could help.
Thank you, Phil for letting me know.
