Hello I am a retired Government of Canada employee. Through my employment I have had the opportunity to travel north, south, east and west of Canada. While on these trips I always found time to visit entertainment centres where a live band was either playing the music of the 50s, 60s and 70s. In particular Rhythm and blues (R&B), Soul, Disco, the Blues and Jamaican music. Don't get me wrong I like all types of music, including Rock from the same time period. I have been in love with music from a very young age and that love affairs continues. It is probably one of the only things I will not retire from.
My hobbies are reading, mostly books on African, African-American and Jamaican history, crime and legal novels, martial arts history and novels; cooking, watching movies, especially those made in the 1930s and The Godfather One and Two; and of course listening to music. The genre of music tends to change with my mood, but most of the time it is classic "Lover's Rock", Reggae R&B and Soul.
My life time study is Japanese Karate, which I have studied and taught for the past 45 years.
I guess you can say I am a continuous learner and this is a new adventure that I am looking forward to pursueing.
HarveyBrown's Goals 3
Money Goals
Being retired my current income is fixed, which limits me in terms from doing some of the things I would like to do. To offset this situation I would like to earn an additional $1000-2000/month. Anything above $2000 would be definitely amazing. I would ideally like to spend about 2-4 hours per day to make that sort of money.

Money I would be happy earning

Harvey, congratulations that's the way to retire, have a vacation when you can still can. We just don't forget where we came from, the source of everything that we may give the credit to Him the giver of our life. To do the things you love, you won't retire on that, especially music, We are in this WA where we can shout to the world the good things in life, the best way, share to the whole world what you have loved to do, it will be remembered. No one can take it from you. WA is where we have the liberty to work as a boss and enjoy it at the same time. Like work and play.

Hi Harvey,

Best of luck here at WA. I have been here 6 weeks, and have learned a lot, but I also learned that I have a lot to learn.

It is a fabulous community, and to me is such a blessing.

I wish you much success. Take care and God bless,
Mike

Interesting profile and what a great path you've followed. I'm also a music lover (but aren't we all to an extent...LOL!)The Japanese Karate sounds REALLY AWESOME!!! I love the kick butt martial arts type stuff but then again I'm a soldiergirl who was trained in hand to hand combatives so go figure, Right? lol!

I used to do Krav Maga training which is Israeli Street Fighting and it gave me an adrenaline rush. The thought of being able to take out 20 dudes or people all at once by myself was the reason I signed up for the training. Although I didn't get that far with the training, I did learn some basic fundamental self defense techniques.

Well nice to meet you Harvey. Take Care and thanks for reading my blog post!

Also thanks for the follow. Be blessed!

I am aware of Karl Magazine, it is interesting like Caporeira. I am still studying the hidden practices of my style, but one day I may checkout Krav Maga.

I read a lot too. Used to be religion, business and investing. I used to listen to music only in the background. We're pretty different huh:) :). I was into Qigong at one time. It came naturally to me and I was able to feel Qi flowing flowing through me when I practised Taiji with Qigong.
Nice site you've there. Cool

Thanks Larry, we are not that far. I still study spirituality. When I was working I studied business ad investing and still listen to music. I study Japanese martial arts which means basically the physical is first then we study the internal. A little different than Chinese martial arts that usually start with the internal and go to the external. Now that is a generalization but I think you understand. Thank you I am enjoying putting it together.
