How often do you blog? Do you think it's better to have 1 blog post per day or better to have 2-3 high quality blog post per week?

2-3 high quality blog post per week Joe!
Consistency and quality is what you want - even if it's one post/week.

The longer the better 1000-2000 words/post

That seems to be the consensus. Thanks for the tip!

2-3 times per day would be nice, however I believe 3-4 content rich post per week will work just fine, cheers!

Thanks for the feedback!

I usually update my sites with 2 posts every single day. I have had a lot of success with that method

Thank you so much for the feedback. Do you find that the content is over 1000 words each post or are they sometimes shorter?

HubSpot research found that "companies that published 16+ blog posts per month got almost 3.5X more traffic than companies that published between 0 - 4 monthly posts." That said, you've hit the nail on the head in your question. There's little point in posting rubbish. If you need to make a choice, go for quality over quantity.

That is excellent information ... thanks for sharing!

No worries, Joe. I spend far too much time reading HubSpot. I'm currently working my way through their Inbound Marketing Certification. Here's the link to the content I referenced in case you want to have a look at some point... http://blog.hubspot.com/marketing/blogging-frequency-benchmarks

actually I just stack them up in my blog Queue and just pull them out when I think of it.

I would love to get to that point! :)

i think it depends upon the time you have available and your goals. Someone who is working full time would have less time to dedicate than someone who is working full time on their online business.
Xin

Very true!

2 HQ per wek is eneough

Thanks for the information... That sounds like a reasonable goal for me, but I might try to up it to 3-4 HQ per week.

Hi Joe, personally, when I first started out, I was writing three, 500-word posts per week. As my writing skills improved, my writing automatically became more in depth and I started to enjoy it.

These days, I put all of my energy into a single post. The post is usually somewhere in between the 2,000 -2,500 word mark, sometimes more.

I just concentrate on quality over quantity now. If I wasn't working, I would be able to produce three of these a week.

We all have our time constraints. I'd say just write the best quality post you can, publish, and then move onto the next.

I just blog when I feel like it Joe,I know that is not the correct answer but it,s how I cope with life here.

Good to know! I don't want to get burnt out.

When you are first starting a website, it is good to be blogging as often as you can, as long as they are quality posts. After you start getting traffic and your site is doing well, you can scale it back some. I'm sure you will get all kinds of responses to this question. :)

Neil Patel a very successful entrepreneur was once asked "what do you do when you have finished a blog" his answer... "I blog again"

Yes, there are a lot of different opinions? :)

Laughing.... :)

Do you think the Black Friday deal is worth it? Why or why not?

It is the best thing you can do for yourself Joe. Not just because of the money savings, but peace of mind, the ability to learn more and have the creativity to do more with your business. I wish you good fortune my friend,
Ken

Get in Joe, if you haven't already.
Awesome deal - 2yrs doing "blackFriday" for me!

Here is my opinion on it:

Stupendous deal and well worth it Joe....in fact it would be worth it at 3 times the price. That's just under 900 bucks so take a look at this and see for yourself.... See what I mean ;-)

Mark

Great blog post! :)

Cheers Joe but that was no article......that was my blog!!
Mark

Article, blog post I use the words interchangeable. But, I corrected my comment.

Only kidding Joe, but thanks anyway.
Mark

Of course it does! You will find yourself paying much less and you won't have to monitor any payments for a year! In the meanwhile, you can easily cover the subscription much easier with a few referrals.

Go for it! Do the maths and you will see that is 100% worth it!

Good luck

Gus

I took it last year and it saved me a lot of money, but it's recurring, so this year it saved me again a lot!

The black friday deal is an absolute MUST for anybody that is serious about Wealthy Affiliate and learning how to make money online for a couple different reasons....

You make a one-time payment of 300 dollars, which is an absolute steal for the information you are learning here and you NEVER have to worry about making another payment for an entire year.

This frees up ALL of your attention and allows you to focus everything into building out your website and learning how to cover the costs and begin profiting by the time your next payment comes along.

What sounds more enticing to you? Worrying about coming up with that 50 dollars every single month for 12 months, weighing the pros and cons of whether it is even worth it and when you will be making enough money to cover it? Or making a single one time payment of 300 dollars and being able to fully devote and entire year to bettering your future.

The black friday deal is the greatest bargain you could ever come across, much better then saving a couple hundred dollars on a tv or something like that.

My recommendation for those that are worried about dropping 300 dollars?

Find a way to get it done. You won't regret it. I

Thanks for the advice!

Hi, I understand that this deal is great for those members who get the deal in the Black Friday period. but how about other members who want to go yearly at any other time of the year. I commented on this issue on one of David Sweeney's recent blogs where I told him that the offer I give to any new referrals of mine is to refund them $75 from my $175 commission if they upgrade at any time. This means that they only effectively have to pay $284 for a years subscription. And they can do it every year if they decide to stay with the program. Everybody wins. WA get their money, I get my commission, albeit $100, and my referrals get a great deal.

Here's a man who knows what he's talking about!!
Well said Matt.
Mark

I wouldn't necessarily disagree with what you're doing Ken, after all, it's your business and dollars so it's up to you.
What I would say though is this...
Although this is not network marketing, we should be setting an example to our referrals, and their referrals and so on, so I would personally be reluctant to perpetuate the model you are advocating.
We should be teaching them how to maximise their earnings, not how to discount the deal.
Kyle's discount is an accepted one because it comes under the label of the BF marketing phenomenon but I doubt very much he would be giving away commissions during normal trading times and in any case, if referrals can't see the value at the normal price of $359 I wonder if they will appreciate the full value of what we have here.
Just my thoughts obviously.
Mark

Hi Mark and thanks for your thoughts on the subject.

I am in total agreement with you when you say "if referrals can't see the value at the normal price of $359 I wonder if they will appreciate the full value of what we have here."

I'm certain that many members do see the tremendous value offered by the WA program but simply cannot afford to take the big step to the yearly membership, although in the long run they realise what great savings they would get.

The Black Friday deal gives these members a great opportunity and many do take up this generous offer. Many don't because it may be too close to the festive season and they have other priorities.

I would personally love to see every single member who joins WA, takes the initiative to go Premium and follows all the training, become successful.

And we all know taking out the yearly upgrade is a real commitment by the member to at least give it their best shot at success.

If the offer I put forward to any of my referrals can assist them in achieving their success then I'm more than happy to do it.

Can't fault any of that really......good luck and I hope you get lots of takers for your offer.
My last reservation would be that I hope other WA members don't feel that they have to start doing the same thing to compete with you otherwise we'll have a race to the bottom to see who can give a bigger discount/refund........we'll end up paying people to join then ;-)
I can see the benefit of offering many incentives for people to join, freebies, one to one trainings, hand holding etc but I'd draw the line at refunds.
Cheers Ken
Mark

I doubt that would happen Mark! Don't forget referrals only come from sources outside of this forum. And also, more importantly the WA referral program is only one of the multitude of avenues available for marketers to use in their IM businesses.

Hence the little wink at the end Ken :-)
Good having a debate with you, I enjoy it and come back any time!!
Mark

Will do.

Well,I am off to bed now Joe.Catch up tomorrow if you want to and let me know how you are getting along here.

It saves a good deal of cash over a year. If you can afford to pay a lump sum, I think the deal it is well worth it.

I suppose it is a good deal Joe,however I am not in a position to afford it.What are your feelings about it?

I am kind of in the same boat. I feel like it's a good deal, but at this time of the year I can't afford it.

I have to say that Bloom is probably one of my favorite plugins. I use it a lot on my sites to create opt-in pages. It is simple how it works, but outcome of what it does it

Maybe I'm not adventurous enough, but I only stick to the plugins shown in Kyle's training for now.
Maybe later when I also "get big", I will start to experiment.
Thanks for the question.

You should venture out! :)

Two months, ago a new theme plug-in was introduced called Theme Check. It is a simple and easy way to test your theme for all the latest WordPress standards and practices. A great theme development tool!

This is a great tool! Thanks for tip!

TinyMCE, but I run it on my test website, I create with that one tables and different fonts, and copy the codes to my regular website

I like soliloquy (slider). Shiny Objects!!

I am curious to know if most people use the web hosting provided through WA or do you use a 3rd party hosting company? If you use WA hosting do you think you'd ever have to sw

I use WA and I don't think I have to switch ever

I already had hosting and a domain set up before I found WA, but would be willing to use either

I use both WA and another 3rd party web host.
I do a lot of work for others and not all join WA.
Therefore it is important that I have cPanel access.
If that were not the case I would use only WA.

cPanel access would be nice, like having access to MX records. I thought I read that WA used to offer cPanel access?

No, I do not think they did. Not sure
I have only been here for 15 months.
WordPress hosting is an entirely
different platform from cPanel hosting.

I use both, and I know other members do that have been used to using cpanel. There's also some plugins that can't be used at WA, ones that need an outbound connection.
I've had no problems with either, but the security and support here are great, also the recent addition of the commenting feature.

Currently using SiteGround on my newest website, but I'll soon move on WA an older website (now on HostGator): I'll let you all know how it goes!

I use to host my domain on another hosting company. Now I'm hosting with WA. AND I intend to continue with WA. Why? for a few reasons:

1. It centralize everything for me - Everything is all here in WA. I just have one place to go.
2. It gives me reassurance and confidence that my site is in good hand here.
3. Because I love all the different features telling you how well your site is doing in the search engines: if you have enough comments, too many plugins, how much your site is trusted by search engines, etc...

I do like the My Site Health as well! Another thing I love about WA hosting is the installation of Wordpress (and the basic plugins) is a breeze.

Now, I would love to see a couple of enhancements:

1. The ability for you to decide which plugins it installs automatically.
2. The control of your DNS records. For example, I use Office 365 for my email (because I want Exchange) and I cannot host the domain with WA because I can't control my own DNS records with WA.

If they added those 2 features I think WA Hosting would be the best on the planet!

I use both, prefer WA Hosting , that's where my sites are.it's all in one place. Good support also. Am transferring my 2 other sites to WA b4 renewal.

I had my two site originally hosted at HostGator before joining WA. When my HostGator plan came up for renewal I decided to host here since hosting is included in my membership price. This is when I learned a valuable lesson in ALWAYS BACKUP YOUR SITE! To move an existing site to another host is not just a minor "transfer". It is a complicated "migrating" where if something goes wrong (which it did), all is lost forever.

Excellent reminder! Currently, everything of mine is hosted with WA and I rely on them for backups. But, I am going to change that and maintain my own backup too!!!

Many people use WA hosting just for the simple fact that it is included with your premium membership and you don't have to pay a different host. The only reason I can think of to use a different host would be if I were leaving WA. :) The support here is great and you can't beat the price, especially if you have multiple sites to host. I'm sure you will get many comments on this subject.

I use WA hosting and at this point in time I can't think why I would need to move elsewhere.

On my Wordpress site my theme did not show comments on p

I'm still having this issue if anyone else or knows of a fix :)

Hi Joe, thanks for bringing up that interesting point. Much appreciated...have a blessed day...bye...

Hi there Joe,
always a pleasure to answer question from you. More importantly thank you for to follow. The only thing I can think of is on each page you can turn on and off the comments, for the ones you want and the ones you don't. And you can also delete comments from any page or post all of this done in the process of WordPress.

As you may know, WordPress never shuts down, and it's always update itself. and WordPress 4.3 the latest version, it's pretty glitchy that means if it doesn't like a theme, or plug-in because some plug-ins may be a little old,

something may be old, some of the child themes take over customization that means you customize on the fly reset WordPress every time. I suggest you back track, figuring out what you done up to the point of these messages from your site.

Even though WordPress 4.3 is pretty active and running is still in the beta version because most templates and plug-ins have not been tested against it, just backtrack where you know it was running smooth and him figure out what you Done up until that point.

Thanks for the protip! I will certainly let everyone know when I find the answer. I feel like it has to do with the fact that the <?php comments_template(); ?> code turns on comments and the text identifying the comments area. But, then I've turned comments off for that page. So, the theme doesn't know how to handle the fact that I am asking it to display the comments, but not really! Ha.

Sorry if this sound silly but I turn comments on and off in wordpress on the page itself. This removes the Lave a reply words and the comment box. If you are in edit mode on your page and go down until before you got to the SEO you should see a place to uncheck the comments.
Again, sorry if this is something you already tried but I thought I would give it a shot. Hope it helps.

Yeah I've already done that and they are disabled on the pages that I want them to be. However, that text still appears. But, thanks for the suggestion!

If you're using a third party commenting system (like Disqus) to control where comments are enabled, you may want to try adding this to your functions.php file (anywhere after the opening <?php line):

// DISABLE WORDPRESS COMMENTS JS
function disable_comment_js(){
wp_deregister_script( 'comment-reply' );
}
add_action('init','disable_comment_js');

I am using Wordpress for the comments, not a 3rd party plugin. But, I will give Disqus a try. Thanks for the tip!

np, i hope it works!

I installed Disqus and the same thing happens as with the Wordpress comment manager enabled. No difference. :(

oh :( well, I just did a quick Google search and foudn this page, with several solutions..?

// DISABLE WORDPRESS COMMENTS JS
function disable_comment_js(){
wp_deregister_script( 'comment-reply' );
}
add_action('init','disable_comment_js');
