Social Media Marketing Jobs
I won't mention the paper but I was reading the D**** **** here in the UK recently and came across their weekly careers page where they highlight a few different careers every week and have a complimentary sits vac page.......well the regular jobs on offer want to own your whole life and soul in return for a variety of so called "competitive salary packages", whatever that means.
But the real thing that caught my eye this week was the piece on how more and more jobs are becoming available in the Social Media Marketing sector.......there's got to be good reason for that!
It mentions that it helps to have a good grip on things like twitter and Facebook (fair enough) and also gives a website to check out for marketing opportunities.
So I thought I'd have a little look and I had to stop myself from gasping ar what they were offering.
It turns out that the site links to the Chartered Institute of Marketing here in the UK and they are advertising courses, wait for it, at £575 (about $900) per subject, per day!
You want to learn email marketing......900 bucks please.
You want to learn affiliate marketing.....900 bucks please.
You want to learn seo.......900 bucks please.
You want to learn content marketing......900 bucks please.
You want to learn social media marketing.....you got it, 900 bucks please.
You're getting the message here I can tell, they will gladly take nine hundred dollars off you for every single subject you want to learn....each for 1 day!
And no, there's no job offer at the end of it.....find one yourself.
Start an online marketing business after a single day's training........what about all the other stuff you need to know at 900 bucks a pop?
Now ask yourself and all of your prospects if Wealthy Affiliate isn't worth every single cent of $299 for a whole year's worth of learning in every single subject necessary.......I dare you!

There are a host of new companies teaching the basics for free. things like WordPress keyword research basic graphics SEO... and they make their money on selling you products to make money when you are ready for them.
Wow Mark, good insight and it just shows how companies are willing to manipulate social members of society for their own personal greedy gains in exchanger for value that isn't worth the price they demand.
I'm happy I found Wealthy affiliate due to the fair price on offer, the community and the fact it really is a small gem discovered in the ocean of the internet that's packed with immense value.

You're right, companies are more than willing to rip people off if they think they can get away with it and if others aren't shouting from the rooftops about the alternatives.

I totally agree Mark. The cruel irony is, if people need to pay "900 bucks" a time to learn Affiliate Marketing, Social media Marketing, etc, etc, then they are not knowledgable enough to know of the true value of WA , until after they have paid/wasted their cash !

We need to make a concerted effort to try and make as many people as possible aware of our alternative.
If there's people out there either daft enough or ignorant enough to shelve out 900 bucks a day for one subject, there have to be many others who would look at our deal.......Black Friday price or not!!

Well said Mark, I just know there are uninformed that look at $299 as people just trying to make money. They don't have a clue unless they take a look around to what is out there.

Excellent point; as for those 'job' offers, merely a promo cover up for a flood of membership and training sites...mostly ripoff or beginning of expensive funnels. Me? Sticking the the best. .. WA!
I hear what you say Rosie but these are actual "jobs".......by which I mean off you go selling solar panels, orthopaedic beds, disabled buggies etc for so called big commissions, but that's it, commission only and they want to own your life lock, stock and barrel.
Believe me, I've been there and it adds up to slavery.
Start on the road to owning your own life for 82c a day.......that's more like it!!
