Im trying to use FTP to access to upload a zip file to my site. I am getting this msg in Fz
Error:Critical error: Could not connect toserver
I'm lost can anyone help
Hi Tich - in the field titled "Host" or "Domain" the safest bet is to use the following format, putting ftp instead of http or www in front:
ftp://yourdomain.com
Some FTP clients get really sensitive about it. If that doesn't work, try:
ftp.yourdomain.com
Cheers!
Have you managed allready? I know Marion has a couple of trainings about FTP & Filezilla https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/marionblack/training
Hello.
This is not a problem about the type of file. What it is telling you is that it cannot connect your website and your computer together. Without a connection you can't even look at the type of file however thaTs the purpose of using FTP it doesn't matter what type of file it is. So let's have a look at why you can't establish a connection.
Either you are using the wrong username and password or your outgoing TCP port 21 is blocked by a local firewall or Internet service provider. It is more likely to be the first problem rather than the second.
So for the moment I'm going to point you to some wealthy-affiliate training about FTP transfers. If you still can't connect after this further investigation will be necessary.
The first tutorial might help you get started to check that you got the right details to connect
Your FTP Details
Then this is a tutorial about connecting
FTP & FileZilla - Connecting to domain via FTP
Hope this helps
Catherine
Make sure there are no spaces in your file names. Put dashes instead of spaces.
God bless you!

Can I promote WA through my site with a redirect to WA using my referal link?
here's the training on 'links' .... it's very useful....
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/online-entrepreneur-certification-making-money-level-3/adding-affiliate-links-to-your-pages
Yes. One thing I have done is taken 4 domains I have where the name reflects "Internet Marketing" in some way and at Godaddy.com created a "Fordward with Masking" to my affiliate url. For me, it is one way to take advantage of an unused domains just sitting there. I track them with AdTrackz Gold and when and if they get a few clicks here and there I can build the site out to at least a landing page to opt-in and redirect.
Hope this gives you some answers and more ideas!
-Kevin Wiley
Thanks Kevin
Its amazing how what one's big problem is made so small by others altruism and generous help. One only need ask.
I am definitely going to use your method.
Thank you so much Kevin.
Tich
Yes, you can. Or, like Kevin said.....link to a specific web page which shows your link(s)
You can either redirect an entire domain to your WA affiliate link or, if you're using wordpress and want to just have one page redirect (ie: domainname.com/wa) then you can use the free wp plugin, Pretty Links Lite
what is your niche?
Within your pages and posts you can of course use the WA banners and your affiliate link to connect back to WA...
Chris
My niche is making money online. And yes thanks so much for your time and your help. I am willing to use any helpful ideas you may have.

Any objections If I switch from All in One SEO to Yoast. I find Yoast provides more tools and visibility making it easier to manage your site SEO wise. Help required on pros and
thanks for this
i am going with yoast as i see all the green lights and the suggestions of what to do
i like it and am more familiar with it than I am with all in one - I am not saying all in one is no good, just that i have used yoast before and it also has over a million active installs around the world
If you type Yoast in the search bar you will find all kind of information and discussions! Maybe they will help you! Christa :)
Hi,
I watched Jay's WAbinar on this very subject. He stated that either one is OK to use. He uses Yoast just like you. I use All In One SEO. Bottom line: use the one that best fits your needs.
I hope this helps.

Can I place a WA image on my Facebook wall with a redirect URL to WA with my affiliate Link? Anyone?
Hey Gombriot - As far as I know, that would not be possible, but you can upload the image to FB and add the link in the associated text field. You can do the same with Cover images.
Jay's comment about sharing a link will definitely achieve your desired result, where the chosen thumbnail will click through to the external URL.
I'm not sure this is possible but you can do a WA review on your site and share it to Facebook. If you have the banner on your review page then you can choose that as the image you want to show on your wall.
It might just work out better for you in terms of conversions (getting people to sign up).
If there is a way to do this though hopefully someone else would chime in.

I have a few websites hosted at Hostagor that I will need to transfer to WA. Is there wisdom in this decision?
1. What are the steps involved in changing the nameservers
2. What steps are involved in moving a whole site.
Please prioritize question 1 above, thanks.
You can. If you have a site you have spent a lot of time on, you can back it up and transfer the contents.
If you don't care about what is there, it is simple to point your DNS to the WA nameservers and start over!
The sitebuilder here is VERY powerful.
It's only my second day, and I have already transferred 2 domains here! :)
Very direct and easy.
Let me know if I can help.
