My name is Kevin Barham - Originally from the UK but based in Ireland for the last 13 years.

I’ve been online for as long as I can remember but despite a lot of trying I haven’t made the progress that I thought I would when I started way back when!

I've launched a couple of WSOs and had reasonable success but haven't achieved anything that has led to an ongoing revenue.

I am a web developer and graphic designer and have repeat clients which is great, but of course that means that I need to give them priority on my time, which can be a bit frustrating.

I am skilled at Wordpress, Joomla, PHP & MySQL, Photoshop, CorelDraw, InDesign to name just a few!

I have identified a couple of areas that I need to give my attention to.
1. FOCUS on one aspect of my business and stop jumping from one method to another.
2. TIME BOXING - I will allocate specific time to my specific daily tasks and consequently be more productive.

Looking forward to the journey!

Welcome to WA Kevin. Yes, keeping organized can be a task in itself. If you need help with that let me know.

Thanks Craig. I have been using The Action Machine to try to stay on focus but as always, I have to give priority to client's work and so I frequently fall behind on my own projects!

Any other suggestions would be gratefully received.

Hey Kymee - I joined about 5 yrs ago but I have been away for a good while. I came back because I was so impressed with the way that Carson & Kyle have continued to develop this community. It is an awesome place.

I recommend following their courses and obviously if you are looking for specific answers to WP issues then you can do a search in the top search bar where it says "What are you looking for?". If you can't find an answer, by all means ask me and I'll do my best to help.

I will be contributing to the WP section of WA with content from my previous WSOs but I can't do too much at the moment as I am recovering from illness. I'm getting better :-) and that is another reason why I came back to WA now.

I've been in other IM communities and I have to say that this is my absolute favourite :-)

All the best - Kevin

Oh NO not if you don't feel well LOL oh well if you insist. The theme came with a newspaper style theme and that is what I was shooting for. But when I downloaded it.
It came out full page, You see I want to have an out door site that covers a lot of different areas Camping, hiking, and off roadng, also fishing. I wanted that displayed at the bottom boxes. and I wanted to then to write articles and posts and I wanted them attached to each category of them so that would be site specific. and my posts do not show up. I have written one that is supposed to be attached to full time rvers page it does not show up ...Hope this all makes sense.

If I understood your question this will help!!

All themes are different so it is difficult for me to answer specifically - But what I would say is that, as a general rule, when you install and activate a new theme, look in the left menu of the admin dashboard and you will see 'Appearance'. Under there you will probably have an option for perhaps 'Theme Options' or 'Advance Options' (or both depending on your theme). In there you should be able to make the tweaks that you want to adjust the theme to your liking.

Also in the 'Appearance' menu section you will find the option called 'Widgets'. Click on that and you will see all of the available widgets, incuding items like 'Recent Posts', in the main central area and over to the right you will see all of the available widget areas that your theme supports. You drag items from the main area to the appropriate widget area on the right. The widget areas should be named so that it is obvious where they are - like: 'First Footer Widget Area', 'Second Footer Widget Area' etc.

One last thing that I will say on the subject is that when you are editing a page, look on the right-hand side under a section called 'Page Attributes' and, again depending on your theme, you may have a 'Template' section with a dropdown. This is used to determine whether a page is full width or has a side panel where the widgets will appear. Of course, some widgets can appear in the footer section or header section depending on your theme. If you don't see the Page Attributes section when editing your page look towards the top for the button 'Screen Options'. Click it and a panel will slide down and you can then enable/disable what you want to appear in that section of the dashboard. If you dont see some of the things that I have mentioned then it may be that your theme doesn't have them.

Did that help? I hope it did but if not, let me know :-)
