I was just checking this out, I managed to find several other sites but did not see my own. Why is this?
i just found my google global ranking
7,276,659 only 7,276,658 to go, not bad after 4 months is it, NOT!!
my site is not yet on google! at least not yet ranked. the SEO values are quite high. In fact, using squarely, all my latest articles are 100% optimised. waiting (for godot). so semrush is still lightyears away
From Semrush:
SEMrush only analyzes Google's top 20 results because this is where over 99% of all search engine traffic comes from. Because our goal is to provide data that is relevant and can be used to craft effective marketing campaigns, we do not analyze data beyond the first 20 search results of any search engine.
However, you can use the Position Tracking tool to track any domain and any keyword you like for their rankings in the Google top 100.
Why does my site not feature on semrush?

will "&" work the same as "and" in keywords?
I found the keyword "b and b in Ireland" it gets good traffic and low qsr
But what I want is "B&B in Ireland", also woul
Thanks for asking this as I have used & on one of my sites to shorten it's title. I assumed google would understand but maybe not from your testing. Hopefully lots more people will chime in here. Glyn
It's been slow so far as it seems to be a tricky question. But check what I replied to Claire. I'm just going to go trial and error for now.
Hey buddy
I tried both in Google just now and it seems that the ampersand is converted. Looks like the consensus is that is is fine to use this particular special character: http://moz.com/community/q/special-characters-in-title-tags-meta-descriptions
I'm pretty certain the apostrophe is ignored, so don't see any reason why you can't add that in.
But if you're worried, why not elongate it to Bed and Breakfast Ireland - what are the Jaxxy results for that as a keyword?
Or, you could always leave the title "B&B's in Ireland" and put "B and B in Ireland" in your tags - I get ranked on my tags alone sometimes, depending on the competition, page one is doable.
Does that help? :)

It helps a little and thank you but still I feel I am just depending on luck that it will work well with rankings as it was the term "b and b" that was ranking and not the version with the & which I cant seem to get a result for. The & may covert to and but will it rank the same?
I was playing around with it I put B&B into jaaxy and it listed bb the same way that bb is what comes up in the URL for my page,
Thanks for taking a stab at it, its obviously a tricky one.
I guess the only way to find out is to test it and track in Google Webmaster Tools.. then change it if it's not showing in the SEPRs how you would like it.
Hopefully when our American counterparts get online shortly, someone more knowledgeable will be able to come along and help :)
No worries though, it's certainly an interesting question and I'm curious to know the answer. I've used & in some of my titles without the thought even crossing my mind, but then it wasn't key to the traffic/QSR.

Well what I have decided to do is put B&B in the title box so it will come up neatly in my menu. Then I put b and b in a H1 tag within the content and also once in the first paragraph and once in the last paragraph, I then refer to it as B&B everywhere else throughout the content.
I will put B and B in the meta title, description and keywords. I also changed the URL slug to read b-and-b-in-ireland. After all this is the keyword that seems more trustworthy. I'll check out how it ranks in a few days and I can always play around with it by trial and error, its all I can do really.
I'll have the page up later for you to see how I worked it in.
Cool beans - sounds like you have a plan!
Yes, come back and post a link so we can take a look and leave some comments :)

Hey Jason, I'm so sorry, I don't know how I missed this earlier in the week. Left you a comment over there.. page is looking good. I think the banners work great too - good job :D

When I entered 'b&b in ireland' (without the quotes) in Google I found 88 million results when I tried the same in WA's keyword tool I got 'Contains invalid characters'. I'd use with and without the & and also with and without spaces. e.g. B&B. B and B, Bed and Breakfast, Bed & Breakfast, Bed&Breakfast;. You get the drift. Use the lot. (Just my 2 cents.) ~Marion
