I've been trying to login using the login to my websites here at WA and it just keeps showing up with a blank 'username' and password box instead of automatically logging me in
Glad to hear Mike! I think it was my own doing or at least a part of it, lol. Got it working fine now though. :)
Hey Jeffrey! Yeah, I got it fixed now and they all log in as they should. Just needed to verify my email, which I should've done a long time ago, instead of the remind me later, lol.

You may need to empty the browser cache, refresh and try again. Try URL in a different browser or mobile device.
You can also empty servers cache.
Websites > Site Manager > Details > Sitespeed > Empty site cache
You may reset your password or synchronize if an option is available.
You may reach out to site support if issue persists.

Thank you Abie! I didn't even think of trying to empty my browser cache! It's something I normally do and I've been forgetting lately, lol. I'll give that a try first. Then on to the next suggestions if that doesn't work. If all else fails I'll definitely be asking site support.
Thanks again and best wishes :) ~Sherry
Got it fixed now! Thanks Abie! Turns out it was me, lol. Putting off verifying my email in the login was what was causing it. Once I did that, they all login just as always again. :)

Well, it seems my hard drive is the culprit to my recent problems...
Thank you everyone who helped out and gave advice for the mess I was in! I'm sure
I have both. I have Windows 8 on my laptop and Windows 7 on two desktop computers. For me there is no contest. Windows 7 is much easier to use. One of my problems with Windows 8 is that there are certain programs like Wordpad, Paint, and Calculator that I can't pin to the taskbar.
Hi Prolife,
It appears the majority here find 7 much easier to use than 8. I'd like to stay with 7, but now I don't know which would be the wiser course since Microsoft seems to be determined to phase that out. I wonder when they'll stop updates to 7, which makes me worry.
Once they do that, I'll be stuck having to buy a new OS again since I don't plan on getting a new computer since the hard drive will be new...anyways, I like the one I have!
Thanks for letting me know what you think about both and also the issue with some of Windows 8 programs!
Best wishes :) -Sherry
I have been in IT field for 15+ years. I love my Windows 7. 8 can be very confusing especially if someone is not that computer savvy. It was designed mostly for the Touch Screen feature, although it is sold without it quite a bit. Hopefully Windows 10 will be more user friendly. Good luck
Yes, I've been hearing 8 isn't the most user friendly...I wonder when 10 will be out anyways...seems like they just started with Windows 8!
Thanks for the info DawnaO!
Best wishes :) -Sherry
Personally, I like the new windows more than windows 7. I have not had any issues with windows 7, but I like the feel and added security of windows 8. Using multiple screens and direct cloud connection is a huge bonus too. The other thing to consider is EOL for win7. Like XP, recently, Microsoft declared that it was pulling support for the famous and most widely accepted operating system, saying it was out dated and had reached "End Of Life" so no more updates were available for Windows XP, which forced everyone to go to a new OS, if their system could handle it, or buy a new PC. I don't know when Win7 will reach End Of Life, but if you are going to update, go for 8
I use windows 8 on my new laptop, and win7 on my desktop PC. The only issue I ahve with win8 is that it doesn't come with a start button, and opens in Kiosk mode, which is OK... but I downloaded and installed Start Menu 8 from Iobit (http://www.iobit.com/iobitstartmenu8.php) and it gives me the instant start menu that I got used to in win7... Personal choice really, but I prefer the start button to launch programs and have a clean desktop
Hi Savant,
Thanks for the info! Yesterday, I spent a lot of time looking online for Windows 7, which of course was easy to find but I thought I'd compare some prices...anyways, it seems when looking through descriptions of the product I kept seeing Microsoft support no longer included or something like that.
Anyways, I also talked to my daughter who has Windows 8 on her laptop and she says she likes 8, but sometimes it has a "mind of it's own." But, then again it could be something else entirely causing it...at least when it was turning on, now she can't get it to turn on.... Sigh...I guess we'll be bringing that in too sometime soon.
Anyways, thanks again for the info about 7 and 8...it certainly helps! I'm not sure if I'd care much for the Kiosk mode screen instead of the start button either!
Best wishes :) -Sherr
Thanks for letting me know...it would be good to have the free upgrade for sure since it seems Windows 7 is being phased out.
Best wishes :) -Sherry
I definitely like 7, and I've heard 8 is good too, but takes a bit of getting used to. Thanks for chiming in! Best wishes :) -Sherry
I have windows 7, but they are phasing out support for windows 7.That's what makes me not like windows. They want to you to keep going with new versions, even though older is still fine. So, for that reason alone, I would go with windows 8.
Hi Gordi,
Unfortunately, it seems so. When trying to find a Windows 7 disc I noticed Microsoft no longer offers support with it, at least as far as I've seen. So, maybe I should've just gotten 8 when I was at the local computer shop...it was, of course, all they had available in store.
Thanks for your input on this Gordi!
Best wishes :) -Sherry
Yes, I'd be fine with that too, if only Microsoft would continue support for it...I like 7 and I'm used to it. Thanks for chiming in, Ken! Best wishes :) -Sherry
I've got 7 on a PC and 8 on Surface tablet. Problem with 8 is that it takes a bit of getting used to. But once you do, it's pretty good. Just different and after getting used to Windows, then Apple's IOS & Android, you have to think that you don't really need to learn yet another new way to do a simple task.
So I'd only use 8 on a touchscreen device. Can't see the point of it on a PC.
Thanks for the feedback IMc! This is good to know! I did notice it uses a tile type of system for the start screen or whatever it is called that shows up...so, not necessarily better, at least on a PC, but better for a touchscreen.
Thank you again and best wishes :) -Sherry
Hey, sorry to hear about your hard drive.
There are a lot of pro's and cons for each system. You have to consider what you are going to be running, is windows 8 compatible with your existing software, printer etc.
I used to advise against windows 8 to my customers but at some stage we all have to move on. And windows 8.1 goes a long way to making it look like the old 7.
Hope that helps!
It sure does help! Thank you Craig...I almost forgot about that fact...I might need a newer version of Microsoft Office, which I know is another good chunk of money...plus, another printer most likely, since ours is rather old...but, it's also been acting up a lot lately...so, maybe it's time to get a new one anyways.
Hmmm, I wonder about our digital camera too...gonna have to check into all these and make sure first.
Thanks again! I could've stepped in a mess again! And end up having to buy a whole bunch of different things I wasn't planning on. At least now I'll be prepared if I do decide to have windows 8 installed.
Best wishes! -Sherry
I use open office. It is a free download that is similar to ms office. Works with Windows 8.
Good to know! Thanks for sharing this Chris, I might just go for it...

Tough to get rid of AVG and all the malware built in to it. Savant has the solution to your problem.
John
Hi John,
Yes, it seems it's still there after I thought i just uninstalled it. Thanks for stopping by! I'll still need to read all of what Savant has the link to there...I may have to come back again to it tomorrow though since I'm rather worn out for today. Getting late...another hour and it'll be tomorrow and I've been up since 3 am this morning to go to work.

Hi John,
Thank you for finding this! I didn't realize they had that available. Lol, guess I'm still up...I think I should probably do this in the morning. Thanks again :)
Sherry, you have been hijacked. That pesky little thing you clicked on is now kicking around on your PC. I posted this article a few weeks ago,
How to recover a Hijacked Web Browser.
go through the steps I have laid out and you should get rid of the bug. Please don't hesitate to PM me if you have any problems.
Hi Savant,
Thank you for the info! I'll go check it out and let you know if I get stuck on something. It seems it's not only my web browser that's affected, every program I try to access gets the same error message "indicates two revision levels are incompatible" ...can't access documents, play music or videos, but I can view my pictures.
Thanks again for the help, I appreciate it! I'll let you know how I'm doing and if I have questions I'll send you a PM. Best wishes :) -Sherry
I hadn't realized they had this, I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the advice kennyb and Gordi.

Hi tommy,
I did try to use the restore from a previous date, but still no luck. I've been able to use that way to get things working right again on my hubby's computer a couple of times when his wasn't working right, but it didn't want to work on mine. Still the same error message...
Hmmm, unless I didn't go back far enough. Is there a way to find more restore points? It seems it only gives me a few choices and I know it should have a lot more.
Thanks for the advice...this usually works!
When this happened to me I did a complete reinstall of my os and has no problems after. But I did have to reinstall everything.
Hmmm, by reinstall do you mean from an installation disk for your OS?
I have Windows 7 Ultimate, but no installation disk...at least I don't think so...can't seem to find it, so I'm thinking I never had one. I do have a repair disk that I made almost a year ago though. Didn't think of this yet...I have used a repair disk for my hubby's computer and it worked great, but it was a different issue entirely.
Thank you again, Tommy! Best wishes :) -Sherry
No just like when you back date there is a function to reinstall it is on Your computer already. It will take your computer back to factory settings just like when you first bought it.
Thanks Tommy! That's good to know. I tried using the repair disk, but the only dates it brings me to are not far enough back I believe. Unless I did it wrong this time...so, I ended up cancelling it. I'd be happy with it going back to it's original settings...I have everything backed up that I wanted to save prior to it going haywire anyways.
I don't want it to go to the point it was at for a while there right after this happened and I couldn't get it to start up properly. It was a pain trying to get that figured out the first time, but now it's starting fine again.
I do have backup disks that I did that would be back far enough, I wonder if it's possible to use those?
Thanks again for putting up with all my questions, sorry I'm such a pest!
Best wishes :) -Sherry
Hi, maybe you have this sorted now, but if not I would recommend downloading and running the free version of www.malwarebytes.org, it is highly likely this is caused by a virus and you do not want to be downloading programs that say they will fix this error, this is certain to give you more problems. I have been in IT for 25 years, I recommend that if the malwarebytes does not fix it you get someone who knows what they are doing to sort it for you. To be blunt, without more information on the error, spec of your machine etc, it is hard to advise more and you will only get guesses from people. I would normally recommend booting into safe mode (if you know how to do that), running the malwarebytes program, removing and reloading AVG and running a full virus scan. Also back up everything important.
Good luck
Craig
I like Superantispyware free version as well. I am also in IT and I use both. Most errors will go away when running the free versions. Also, Antivirus isn't usually enough, as this covers Viruses, but not always Spyware, Adware and Malware.
I have malware bytes installed too Crp211. It's extra protection for my computer. And yeah, I NEVER click on anything that tells me my computer is at risk!!!
Hi Craig,
Thank you for the reply! I haven't been able to work on the issue for the past few days since I had to work my day job and hubby was using his computer when I was home. Plus, I'd rather not mess with it when I'm already tired, lol.
It sounds like malwarebytes is a good idea to try first. Would I be able to download it to my husband's computer and then use a USB drive to get it to mine too?
I should've thought of that...I didn't say what my machine is!
Well, here goes: it's actually a custom built PC (my brother-in-law used to build them and repair them, but is no longer doing this)
Processor: AMD Athlon II x 4 635 2.90 GHz
RAM: 4.00 GB, 64-bit operating system, Windows 7 Ultimate
and it's an ASUS motherboard if that means anything.
When I tried connecting to the internet by going through the control panel and then into the internet connections I get this:
Component GUID: {7071ECA3-b63B-4BC1-A1FA-B97F3B917C55}
Component file: {C:\Windows\System32\connect.dll}
Error: (ox8007051A)
Indicates two revision levels are incompatible.
Additional info: "The wizard cannot start your default web browser"
I did remove AVG already or maybe...it's no longer listed in my programs anyways after uninstalling it, but it's toolbar is still there in the program list, doesn't seem to uninstall...and I'm not sure where, but I did see various AVG folders/files elsewhere when looking through other folders or files the other day though. I'd have to look again. Do I need to uninstall all of these or delete them....or will it cause a further mess? Or, can I just go ahead with the malwarebytes?
I have gotten into safe mode a couple of times in the past, but a little unsure of what to do once there...and one more thing is the AVG I was using should have been updated to the newest version awhile ago...probably a big booboo on my part!
Thanks again for the suggestions! I truly appreciate the help. I'll give the malwarebytes a try then and go from there, if I can get it on there.
Best wishes :) -Sherry
Hi Gordi,
It does seem like malware bytes is pretty popular! I'll see if I can get it on there. I usually don't click on anything that pops up even if it's supposedly from my own antivirus program AVG ...this time I did since I was distracted (somebody was talking to me) and it said restart, which is what caught me off guard...I definitely would have been suspicious of the "at risk" spiel. Nice to see you, BTW!
Best wishes :) -Sherry
Hi DawnaO, I've never heard of this one yet...I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the info! Best wishes :) -Sherry
Very likely the update did not complete and is why you are getting these errors. I had something similar to this occur and had issues, though I don't think they are exactly what you're experiencing. It was, however, due to incomplete updating, and so my issue was due to an update with some of the pieces missing. You can try to force AVG to re-update (check for updates in the AVG program) and see if this fixes the problem. After I ran the update again, my issues cleared up. Not saying this will actually work for you, but it wouldn't hurt to try.
Make sure you have the latest Windows Updates before you do this. Hopefully Windows will be able to access the Internet on the affected computer. Why AVG didn't update correctly may or may not be due to missing Windows updates, but having that done removes that possibility.
Hi Daniel,
I'm not sure what happened, but it seems nothing works...I believe I had the latest Windows updates before this happened anyhow.
I tried accessing AVG and the "indicates two revision levels are incompatible" message comes up....and the installation/uninstallation wizard or whatever it's called doesn't want to work either.
I do see I have very little space left on my hard drive though, but I'm not sure how to get rid of anything if nothing uninstalls...not sure how my hard drive got so full!
Thank you Daniel! I can see where not having Windows updated before AVG could certainly be a problem though! :)
Try downloading & running the program discussed on this page to find the cause :http://repairerrors.net/indicates-two-revision-levels-are-incompatible.html
I'll give this a try...that's exactly the problem that I'm having! One thing is though I'm not sure if I can download anything since I'm still not able to access the internet through my computer.
Tried uninstalling AVG and it says it may already be uninstalled, but it's still listed as a program....
Thank you for sharing this and hopefully I'll be able to access the internet...maybe I need to restart it first?
If need be, download to your husbands machine and then copy using a usb drive from his to yours to install.
Good idea drsusie! I didn't even think of that...I'll definitely give that a try. I'll have to get a new usb drive though first. Thank you for the help! :)
What is your anti-viral program? AVG is about the lowest you can use in my opinion. I use malwarebytes.com I have the corporate version. They also have a free version. Sorry 777 didn't see your answer below LoL. Remove AVG from your control panel programs. Also Microsoft Essentials has a free version too I believe. CCleaner is a free program that I also use. But you have to remove AVG first due to the fact that more than one anti-viral program can conflict with each other. Hope this helps! Sharon
Hi Sharon,
Yes, I have AVG, and have used it for years with no problem til lately. I'd been thinking maybe it's time to change to something else since every time it's scanning it seems to cause issues with the computer running extremely slooow, which is very irritating when it starts when I'm in the middle of working on something.
I'll give malwarebytes a try once I get this mess sorted out. I'll also try the CCleaner too, probably something I should've done a long time ago...sounds like a very good idea to use this!
Thank you for the help Sharon! :) -Sherry
Try uninstalling that AVG thing and see what happens. You may want to get malwarebytes and see if you have any malware. Let me know how it goes. Our babies are I mean computers are important to us. :)
Okay, I'll give it a try! I've been lost without my baby, errr computer... using hubby's computer just isn't the same...Thank you Evelyn!
