Hello. Im having a bad day today so of course its the day someone has taken it upon themselves to attack me on google+. It started with an objection to todays post and went on t

I deal with those types of people constantly, always someone that feels the need to be negative. Be kind and state your side politely, if they still continue, block or ignore them.

In my use of various social media, I have discovered that there are many hostile and disrespectful people who do know how to civilly disagree with someone. They are quick to use harsh and offensive words. I honestly do not think you should take this individual seriously or personally, as (s)he is probably just being themselves. Just ignore them, delete them, or block them, but just don't let them get under your skin. Have a blessed day.

I agree with Carla, Delete from circles. It takes all kinds and that kind we don't need.

I shouldn't be too concerned Christine. These faceless wonders are everywhere, and it's sometimes a pity that they manage to operate a keyboard. Constructive criticism is one thing, but spiteful comments made by spiteful people are just what they are really - nothing much at all.

Haters are gonna hate. Trollers are gonna troll.

And what you focus on, expands.

You've addressed it, so in my opinion, its time to move on. Always keep your responses brief, but address it. Something like "Thanks, I'll take it into consideration," or "Thanks for the feedback," typically neutralizes situations like that.

I AM NOT asking you to buy anything off my site, but I've already written an article that addresses the basic awareness of what you're saying here:

http://thisisfredsmith.com/worse-than-good-cop-bad-cop-your-reputation-and-how-to-overcome-road-blocks-online

To go further in depth, I will write a basic blog today that covers what you're saying. Just look at the questions I present on the landing page:

http://thisisfredsmith.com/reputation-roadblocks-what-can-damage-your-authority-and-how-to-fix-it

I'm migrating my site (again, but last time) today, so I'll have written the blog post in the next couple of hours here for you. I've seen this question more than once here so I think it's time I delve a lot deeper into the subject.

Hope this helps!

-Fred

He's trying to make a political point. (I read down to about what the argument was about.) I get these guys occasionally. I just delete them and get them out of my circles. You can't reason with them and it's not worth your time to try. Just dump him and move on.

You wrote an excellent article. Don't grace this type of bullying with a reply. His hate speech will be his own undoing.

Hi Christine, I believe this person was just looking for a drama to participate in and thought to try and trigger an emotional response from you. I have dealt with this issue also and what I found is It really is best to cut cords with these kinds of people and not engage in the ego interaction they are hoping for. I know it can be hard when you put yourself out there but just remember that what other people say about you defines them and not you.

We become free when we stop worrying about what others think of us. There will always be a multitude of opinions about every subject out there so never take it personal. Don't allow other people's projected negativity lower your own energy level. If someone is abusive, you have every right to tell them they need to stop. If the negativity continues, then block them from harassing you and remove yourself from their reality so you can continue being you, sharing with the right kinds of people and allowing yourself to shine. xoxo

Don't bother with such people. Not worth your time. Their negative approach will only affect you if you in the same frequency. I believe you are not. Have a nice day!

Cena

Hello Christine. Which posts are you referring to ?

http://learnaboutleadership.com/characteristics-of-highly-effective-leaders

I decided to use a Fortune.com article about the top 50 leaders and analyse the skills that make the leaders successful. Its not an article about the Pope but about leadership. His issue is that the pope is not a leader but a puppet and pr person which apparently equates to me being an idiot who doesnt know anything about leadership... Im not an expert in religion, but the pope is merely an example of a successful leader. Its part of a series, the next one is angela merkel, the german chancellor...

He then commented on my post about managing through tough times and said id just parroted others ideas (which i didnt considering the whole first half is a personal recollection, http://learnaboutleadership.com/leading-through-difficult-times ) and said i should read a book about 14 US presidents... when i said that 'that was his opinion and i wouldnt be drawn into an argument' he went on to say that id said the fact there were 14 previous presidents wasnt his opinion but a fact.. lol. Clearly he's being a moron.

Have you ever had this?

well if the pope were a puppet that still wouldn't make you an idiot, so his logic is a bit off beam; I get the impression the issue is one that makes him angry, you are just getting caught in the crossfire, nothing personal, though again his attack on you will make it feel personal - some great advice above from the nice peeps at WA, and as Carla said, you won't be able to reason with some people- but wasn't it nice of you to try and treat them with such respect ;)

Hey, i just noticed one of my posts is at the top of page 4 after 4 days. Is there anything i can do to push it forward further? Do more comments help? or is it really just time

Hi Christine, make sure you have your keyword phrase inside the Alternative Text of your photos. That will help. Also get your content on your social sites right away.

I saw Kyle's lessons about videos (Bootcamp 5.3) on building a free website in under 30 seconds. So I stuck in his keyword phrase into Google, and there he was, number 7. I was in position 5, but not for my post, but from me posting my post on my Google Plus account. I've seen this a couple of times.

Also, more comments, social shares, and updating your post to include more valuable content will get you to page one.

Cheers,
Todd

hey Christine...definitely getting more comments and responding to them will help as it makes your site look more active and engaging.

Also, linking your site/posts to more social media outlets can also help that process.

Awesome job!

-Jimmy

Congratulations that is great! I don't know the answer yet to moving up but I believe it is time, traffic, and more content!
