Due to the many restriction within WA hosting, I MUST transfer my site to a dedicated server I already have at iPage. Main issue being we are limited to only 2MB on ALL uploads,
Before I did anything, I would ftp all files to my computer in a folder called "Old WP, then follow mblack directions from below on backing up "DataBase" to your computer.
Then log-in to WA site admin, then go to "Settings" "General" change the "WordPress Address (URL) "
and "Site Address (URL)" to the new domain address.and "Save"
(Now you won't be able to get back in it on WA)
Now FTP all files to your computer in folder name"New WP"
FTP them to the Root directory of your new host.
You could probably upload your Data Base file too your root directory and ask your host to load it for you.
Thank you for the advise, but I won't take down my WA site until the new site is fully functioning with no errors. I'll then go live. Luv, Wallace
What Is FTP? I am looking forward to leave WA Hosting as well
Cheers,

Hi Julio, if you have to ask, I highly suggest you don't try it. It's like doing a brain implant, and I'm not joking!
The File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a standard network protocol used to transfer computer files from one host to another host over a TCP-based network, such as the Internet. FTP is built on a client-server architecture and uses separate control and data connections between the client and the server.
The most common one to use on a PC is FileZilla and Fetch on a Mac.
Oh okay, I thought it was from switching Hosting company. I need to switch my hosting service to something more reliable ..

You need to have access to a cPanel to upload your website but if that's the hosting package you have then take a look at my post: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/mblack/blog/backup-your-database-before-upgrading-wordpress for instructions on how to save your database to your computer ready to upload to the new host. ~Marion
Hey Marion, I know how to save my database on my computer and already do it as often as I can. I've lost one site in the past, I'll not lose another.
It is no problem to transfer the files by FTP but it won't work right with the Data Base and without access to Cpanel, I don't know how to get that.
We don't have access to our cPanal, that's the main reason I need to move hosting. I've got iPage working on it :)
I used to think I could not manage online without cPanel, but this is a total myth.
As far as I know there is no limitation with FTP. And I can easily download any file, edit CSS and HTML and upload it again via FTP.
If I had to upload a large database, I would probably ask WA hosting to assist. Most hosts, even with cPanel, do limit the database load size. If you want unlimited load sizes, you will need to pay for a dedicated server.
If you can't do something that you think you need cPanel for, have you asked WA hosting if they will do it for you?
~ Jude
The limitation is being addressed (yeah, I have insider information). I wouldn't jump ship just yet if that is your only problem. It should be sorted out soon.
If you are having problems you can always use ftp to add the plugin information directly to the site, there is no limitation via ftp. All you need to do is unzip the plugin file and move it to the plugin directory.
Thanks, I've been doing that but there's other issues like CSS and HTML codes I need to access through cPanal, and we don't have one, right?
these can all be done without cPanel.
If you are determined to move your site to other hosting. Use the Clone tool to move the site. Its a Plugin and explained here: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/everything-wordpress/how-to-backup-and-restore-your-wordpress-website-with-wp-clone
I know they can be edited through FTP but I prefer cPanel like anyone else would, in my opinion, unless you're a star.
Thank for the link, I'll check it out. Luv, Wallace
you just go to the place you bought the domain from, manage your account and change the hosting same as you did when you bought domain and transferred domain hosting to WA
Hi Katie, I'm sorry but that's not true, I wish it was that easy though! When you transfer Hosting, ALL files must be exported/imported from the old host to the new, normally through FTP. Luv, Wallace
oh I did not know that thanks for letting me know should I every be in this position, I know some members spoke of backing up you site, hope you manage to sort it out ok

HI Wallace, i just transferred one of my sites to Greengeeks, and they did everything -transferring my whole site, and its now running well. As per BenORourke, some reputable sites will do them for you, just be sure before you take the plunge.
@Jen090.. YOU THE BEST...contacted Greengeeks and they are able to help... ( I am so happy - considering I had a mountain of confusion) ps - are you affiliated with them.. so I can buy through your link :)
I asked GreenGeeks about transferring and they said they couldn't help if I didn't have access to the database, which we don't here. How did they help? (I know this comment is old)
Rea, you probably said the wrong "words" to them. Simply tell them you want a WordPress site. After you have this new "empty" site, do what this video show you how by using a WP Plugin called WP Clone:
http://youtu.be/7s2yJV1JNbA
It's easier than we ALL have made it out to be. You do NOT need to have ANY information from your current site host except a complete "clone" of your site that will be stored on your computer as a Zip file.
Using "WP Clone" plugin, do a restore within your new host wordpress site. It's easier than it sounds but you will have to move your nameservers (DNS) and settings. This is done by whoever your domain name is with and in cooperation with your new host. This IS part of their job that you have paid for!!!
If you have any questions, PM me but I'm really not in here much anymore... Regards, Wallace

Just curious, what is the percentage of WA members that are actually making a good living just on the WA program? I guess we should rule out those who are just recruiting new WA
I think posting successful numbers here by established members could give the wrong impression to newbies. Every one is different and aiming for their own personal goals. Better to focus on that.
I'm not really looking for earnings until month four at least. It will take me a while to get significant content on my sites.
I agree with Kylie. Internet marketing is no different than any other business. Treat it like a business and focus on the things that make you money, like proper keywords used properly in the content of you pages and posts. My guess is most people here get caught up in the social back & forth and don't spend enough time learning to write content in a way that will attract visitors that want to come back to their site. Most visitors will not make a purchase the first time they visit. There's a difference between shopping and buying. If you want to make money on your site keep writing so people know you can be trusted. I think you have to give it at least 6 months before you should expect to make any money. That 6 months includes working on you website at least 4 or 5 days a week for at least an hour or two. That's just my opinion, I could be wrong.
I honestly don't think the success statistics are high. Most people put in minimal effort or just give up.
I'm curious myself. I can tell you that I make an average of $0.03/day and I joined on Aug 8th, I don't expect to see much for a few months though, it takes time to build an audience and form relationships with the search engines. I would be disheartened, but Kyle did make it clear from the start that this takes time and hard work, you have to put in both.
Do you have AdSense? That's where my windfall is coming from, hahaha. That and $0.76 from an Amazon sale - THAT was a big day!
No, I haven't done Adsense yet, I've been trying to get everything working properly and get a little more content in. Wow, I agree, that was a BIG DAY!
I haven't made any money on it either, but have only been working on it a little over a month. I wouldn't have expected to have made anything yet. I have made progress though and it is something I enjoy so I hope it does turn out to be profitable. If my current niche doesn't pan out I'll try something else.
I'm still pretty new. Kyle said he didn't make anything for the first three months. Since I'm only about halfway there, I'm not worried at all. :)
Not a clue on the numbers, but recurring profits from new members can be quite lucrative. I guess it depends on how you define success. :)
Will lurk on this thread, thanks for the question.
I haven't made any money from my WA site but, to be honest, I haven't been working on it. My husbands business site is taking priority right now.

I know things have changed regarding this about two years ago. Back in the day, this worked very well but what about now? An example would be this page:
Yes, you can do that with some clever word placing. But the title will become longer. You have to make it look natural, otherwise your title becomes very strange.
Thank You! I'm using Yoast for SEO that makes it easy to control the title. Right now it reads "Fight Parental Alienation Syndrome! | Stop the Child Abuse!" I will give it a try and see what happens.
I use http://www.onpageseotool.com/check-seo-score to check everything, along with other tools of course. Regards, Wallace
It is best to make sure your article flows naturally for google will penalize you if it looks like you have it stuffed with keywords
In my example, this would not be keyword stuffing. "Keyword stuffing" refers to the practice of loading a webpage with keywords or numbers in an attempt to manipulate a site's ranking in Google search results. Often these keywords appear in a list or group, or out of context (not as natural prose). All the best, Wallace
It is possible to use more than one, but there's no point in using more than one. You don't want to produce an article that looks like it is stuffed with keywords. People often think keyword stuffing is just multiple examples of the one particular keyword, but it isn't. Stuffing an article with single instances of lots of different keywords is also not advised. :) Beverley
Hey Biz, read my reply to teacup. I know about keyword stuffing and this is not what I'm asking about. Please see my example. Regards, Wallace
Hi Beverly, I was told my response to you was rude. I was multitasking and gave you a short/blunt reply. If it offended you, please accept my apology :-)
All the best, Wallace
I've always just used one. I was taught that here and in SEO training for writers. Title, plus first paragraph and then once, twice MAX throughout the rest of the article, well spaced out.
Hi, thanks for the comment. FYI, your primary keyword needs to be in your title, no more than 2-times in your description, in the first sentence of your article, and depending on how many words are in your text, use keyword density to determine how many times it should be used, or:
Best and Optimal Keyword Density for "single" word: 2% to 4%
Best and Optimal Density for "Key Phrases": Key Phrase and all split words are 2% to 4%.
This would mean if your text was only 100 words, you need to use it at least 2 times.
Here's a handy too you can use that may help:

I would think that it depends on whether the second keyword is closely enough related to the first that it would appear natural. If you have to force it then Google will see it as keyword stuffing.
As long as it makes sense to use both in your content you can. You will rank for a good many keywords anyway. Just don't try to "target" both of them. Target one and allow the other to come in later as long as it is something that you would expect to be there.
Your targeted keyword should be in your page/post title and somewhere in the first paragraph. After that don't use it unless it would not sound right without it.
Hey my little teacup, how have you been? In my example, this would not be keyword stuffing. I was told that one keyword/phrase per post is ideal. Use it in your title and somewhere in the first paragraph. Then write the rest of your content naturally.
With that said, by writing naturally, you will unintentionally use other keywords anyway. As long as it flows with your content, that should be okay.
However, that is also different from throwing a bunch of keywords throughout the content, which is frowned upon on by the search engines.
Hope this helps!

Do you mean the image you have when you reply to comments? That's the only WP profile image I can think of.
If so, this is a gravitar. You can just go to gravitar.com and upload an image there.
Thanks Blair, I didn't realize my new WP site was using my "gravatar"picture from my old WP account. I just went to the site you gave, linked it to my WP account, uploaded image and it changed it everywhere within 5 minutes! Kudos my new BFF! Wallace
