Backup Your Database Before Upgrading WordPress
WordPress has released a new update - Version 4.0 which is now ready to install on your website. Please take a few minutes to protect your hard work before updating by installing a backup plugin.
My recommendation is WP-DB-Backup - also known as WordPress Database Backup. With WP-DB-Backup you can create a manual backup of your database and download it to your computer or have it sent to your email address.
You can also schedule backups at regular intervals - Once Hourly, Twice Daily, Once Daily or Once Weekly and they will be emailed to you automatically.
Before creating your backup make sure all plugins and themes are up to date.
Install WP-DB-Backup, activate it then Navigate to Tools-> Backup to start your backup and schedule the automatic backups.
Now you can go ahead and update WordPress to Version 4.0. You'll be glad you did. Watch the video and be prepared to be amazed. Writing posts has never been easier and inserting YouTube videos is a snap - WYSIWYG. Wow!
Update: This plugin only works with a cPanel hosting account if you need to restore.
Happy blogging.

Thank you very much, I wasted so much time with Google, enter sitemap, analytic s, trying to get all to work right, I have gotten behind. That was actually on my mind today, and was on tonight's to-do list.
Your information is greatly appreciated.
I agree! Aren't these new changes great? I just did a manual backup, just in case, using the export feature. Nothing happened, though, and everything went just fine.

Thank you everyone for your kind comments. One of the great features of the plugin I recommended is that you can have automatic backups and you don't have to remember to keep backing up. ~Marion
Hello Marion, I believe I have automatic backup, but how do I check this. I have the Plugin WP backup to a Drop Box. Please send me a PM explaining how I can recover a previous version. Thanks in advance.
