Hi, TerrBarr. Sorry for this and I can see it is indeed a challenge. I can say that this all happens due to your current theme. You are currently using pixel Hunter is that okay? I want to share this with you in this manner, I will install this theme to my website. I have a site that I use for trials. Therefore I will install and I will try my best to see what is happening. For now you may go to theme options and try to see whether you can see any assistance there.
I will be back shortly to you.
Thank you Divican. See above the reply to Jude explaining the issue and a little about the fix. Your assumption was correct it appears it was theme based. Thank you again
Cheers

Hi, try refreshing your permalinks, it's worth a try.
Go to Settings -> Permalinks and just press Save Changes button.
Did u try going into the help section in the upper right of the all posts page and then going to the screen content on the left? and on the right you will find the support forums too if you end up needing them
I must confess that every time something like this happens to me, I find that I added a Widget that does not fit. Maybe look at what you can delete and then return one by one.
I figure it must be something I have done. I haven't done anything with widgets yet on the site. I have changed any settings. Perhaps I should quit and restart to see what happens. Looked at the site on my wires laptop and it is the same. Im stumped.
Cheers
Terry
go to your posts and see all posts and see whats wrong from there, see how they're listed to show....maybe...
Thanks, Just checked all settings in EDIT and all are published , to public viewing. I haven't changed anything since last looking at it.??
I think I see what you are talking about. When the visitor clicks on the "continue reading" link, the post disappears. I'm curious, if you remove the "continue reading " link, does the full post show on the blog roll home page?
Interesting. The themes I have worked with have a link that you insert when you want to shorten the content on the home blog roll page and the completed post launches when the visitor clicks on the "continue" link. I'm at a loss. I guess I would suggest that you contact the theme support folks. Hopefully they can point you in the right direction. Sorry.
Well, they show in the blogroll, but when I want to read 'em, the page is blank.
Do you by any change have them published with 'Private', or a future publish date?
If so, just get rid of the Private dingy, put a piece of tape over it and never ever touch it again. LOL
John
Hmm... the articles are showing up just fine for me. Maybe try loading the page using incognito mode. Also emptying the page and database cache might help.
Okay good one safety first. A good start before mucking around with things I don't know. Will do

I assume that it is best to be a responsive theme for mobile devices. What other areas should I be looking for?
I'm not wacko like larry yet but when you don't know what they mean with their jargon it can get very confusing. Thank you very much for all your suggestions and links to sites to help. I very much appreciate your input.
Cheers
Thanks for the question Terr. We are getting some great responses from top WA folks on a subject that has been driving me wack-o for a while now. Maybe now I will be able to settle on a good theme for my site. Thanks again
I look for clean design. I personally like a child and parent theme. The parent theme controls the overall Seo aspects and the design is controlled by the child. I am using studio press Genesis theme and keep the navigation both simple and consistent
As a designer I went with Headway because it allows you complete control over the grid as well as the style for just about every element on the page. But it may be a little more advanced than what most people need.
Hey TB, a great question, yes responsive for mobile, but also keeping with the idea of your site.
Gary
Hi Terr. I think you have been given some great suggestions already. Personally, I am not using an image heavy website so I avoid that type of template. Also the colouring and any squiggly bits may indicate a particular use such as a dieting site, romance site, nature, etc. I am using Thinker Lite on my site http://roberts-reviews.org.uk as it is a clean, uncluttered theme.
Hi RJ i tried to leave a response on your site's about page, but it wouldn't accept it. I think that page says millions about who you are and what you intent is.
Gary
There are so many good ones and it seems hard to go through all of them and make the right choice.
What plans do you have for your header, do you want a romantic or businesslike theme, do you want left, right and footer menus too, when you have spotted a great theme look for what theme it is on http://www.wpthemedetector.com/
I personally consider the theme frame a biggy. I try to imagine what I want my site to look like and how my content will work within the theme frame.
Will it be appealing to my visitors and ideal for the type of site I am building etc.
Another idea is to look at your competition. If they are at teh top they must be doing something right.

I'm at lesson 9 on bootcamp and am wondering if I should be thinking about setting up Tags & Categories and what they do or how they work. Or possibly to answer my own question - s
They barely skimmed on it in the online entrepreneur training. Less is more. I asked on here a while and did some searching. There's actually a page in the documentation on WordPress.org that explains. Ideally no more than about 8 main categories. Then tags act as sub categories for each category. Obviously there's going to be more, but you don't want to go overboard either. You want to have a list that gets reused as you add similar content.
To be honest, I wish I'd known about tags and categories earlier. It was a lot of work going through all my posts and reorganising. I now use mainly categories on my menu, makes it much easier to organise navigation, for me anyway.
If you're already adding a lot of content I would follow Pastor Taes advice. :)
Hey Terry. It's an important question. Type the topic in the question slot in the top middle section of the WA homepage and you find discussion on it.
Thank you Tae, I'll go and investigate. You are an interesting fellow. I hope we get to meet one day.

I'm getting a handle on how to find them, and that they are important for people to find our site or page. Suggestions so far are
To have your keyword/phrase at least twice
Don't overload your keywords. Let them fall naturally and favor the long tail keywords. Maybe someone here can give you Google's acceptable standard for percentage density - I've forgotten because I never overload anyway.
Just target one keyword for post title and use long tail variations in the post body when it makes sense and is natural.
Hi There. I have an article dedicated to seo before you launch your website.
I recommend you take a wee looksee.

Have a nice day.

This is an excellent post! I know I recently made a note to myself to back and check up on the bolding of keywords!
Good keywords and keyword phrases that are worked into the content naturally are best. Google's algorithms will identify and penalize overuse (aka "keyword stuffing"). For each niche website, there will be a universe of possible keywords, and each post would ideally focus on a specific area (or galaxy) of terms in order to rank for that particular little corner of the niche "universe." Video tagging is definitely an emerging area, but there is much that can be done including titles, descriptions, tags, playlists, annotations, captioning (which is coming up fast as a preferred content descriptor), and so on. The keyword concept is the same with video, but the problem has been how to add it.
Thanks Steve, Good material. I felt a little out of sorts not having a strategy moving forward. I know to follow the lessons but some ideas to help with structure and strategy are essential. Thank you again I appreciate your input.
Cheers
You're welcome! My post barely scratched the surface of SEO, so a couple of hours at Amazon looking at SEO book chapters might be useful. It's very useful to have a solid grasp of how SEO really works, but it's worth noting that it is constantly evolving as algorithms get smarter. Natural relevancy is a "historic" concept that the search engines appear to be working towards.
I find if you put it in your title it is usually easier to put in your first paragraph as well all the best
You don't really need to italicize and bold your keywords. Google :"reads" it regardless. This is what you do. Kyle teaches it and it is what Google says to do.First make sure your keyword makes sense. Very important. Second: use it in your title, then use it in your first paragraph and write naturally around it. That is all you need to do.
You have been here just over a moth and you are making good progress. It is best to just use one keyword and write naturally aroud it. You would be surprised at how many keywords are latent in your post when you don't worry too much about it.Use a different keyword for each page or post you write. This will help to spread you out all over the internet. Google doesn't "read" words spoken in a video.Videos are indexed by the title of said video. Hope this gives you the answers you were looking for. Keywords was a concept hard for me to wrap my head around. I completely immersed myself in it and one day it all made sense. You are definitely not alone
Thank you Polly, I appreciate you taking the time to help. What you say makes sense from what other material I've read about google, Just was unsure how to go about it. Last thing I want to do is upset Mr Google. I understand a month isn't long and I am enthusiastic and probably impatient and in time it will all unfold. Your information tells me that I haven't a solid structure with my site for any future solid development. It would be easier to change it now rather than later.
Thanks again

A thought occurred to me that some young teenager may be mature enough to build a small business and earn enough money to set themselves right for some time. Even create a caree
I'll be bringing my 14 year old grandson into WA when he's ready. I've already registered his name as a dot com (on my GoDaddy account) and set up WordPress for him. Now it's up to him to let me know when he wants to add some content to his website. Then he can start doing the lessons here at WA. ~Marion
There are a number of husband/wife teams here so I don't think that having my grandson as a partner would be a problem.
An old saying......"Hire a teenager, while they still know everything...." and its true!
We had a young man who was doing amazingly well developing his site last summer and the only reason he quit was so he could focus on his grades as a senior because he was hoping for a scholarship. And we have another member who has his 6 year old son developing his own site!
Generating a pretty good income? Yes. Getting into the seven figure range? Only if they have enough savvy to handle staff.
Yes however they would need a few years and considerable coaching to get to that level so their development would be crucial for their future prosperity. Still very doable using the right approach
Thank you all. An interesting topic.
Cheers
I would probably handle the membership and monetization bit like signing up for affiliate programs etc., and leave the content/niche creation to them.
That is surely true, there are exceptional cases of young people that are wise way beyond their years. Unfortunately, for them, our society, including WA, has an 18 year old or above qualification limit. If I had a 16 or 17 year old capable of building a good monetized website, I would sign one up for him or her, then at age 18 sell it to him or her for a penny.
Here! Here! Marvin. Same here. Im not in that position but the thought occurred that young people have a different perspective and energy that is awesome and would be ideal to develop a business here.
Really? I keep telling my daughters who are 18 and 29 to sign up. I know they would be good at it. They don't like to listen to me though
We do have some teenagers that are members of WA. The only thing is that most affiliate programs want you to be at least 18 years of age to participate. They would need parental help and approval once they got to that point. I guess they would need to make sure ahead of time it was ok to get involved with something that has a monthly fee as well.
