Hi, I just checked the Request Comment page and I have 2 identical comments from the same person, why is this and do I disapprove one?

Thank you all for helping me! Have

If its not happening all time. The person probably didn't think u gor so the put it in again.

It's a glitch. It has been happening off and on for a few weeks.

I know that occasionally we get duplicate emails but never heard of duplicate comments on sites.
Ed

This has been going on with me for about 3 weeks now. I believe it is a glitch in the system, but who knows when it will go away!

I had this happen the other day did a post and it came up twice another member had it to, just had to delete it must be a glitch

I had the same the other day, no idea why. I removed one and had to give explanation, annoying.

just approve one comment

That has happened to me before, just approve of one and decline the other with a message saying duplicate post

It has happened to me and that is exactly what I did.

Yes I agree with Lis.

I have noticed that this has been happening on the community pages as well since yesterday. I presume that it is just a blip in the system.

You only need to approve one and delete the other as it is just a duplication.

Lis.

Thanks, Liz for the quick response. Have a great Sunday!!!

You too :)

Why are the traffic numbers different in Google & Jaaxy? I look up a keyword in Jaaxy and go the Google search for the same keyword and the numbers are different, why? Whic

I think bmark got it right... if you type into Google "keyword" (with the quotation marks), it should give you the same result as jaxxy...

...using the quotation marks in a.Google search gives you results for that exact keyword string/phrase - without the quotation marks, Google will search for any variation of them :)

Yep

Before I read any of the comments below, what I think could be the reasoning behind this is:
The keyword result is a average from varying countries. I'm not sure though.
E.g. So in USA the keyword may rank 21st on Google USA, where as Australia it might be 2nd.

Jaaxy gives you the totals for your exact keyword without adding on other varieties and combinations

I think bmark hit it right on!
Ed

Good question. Thanks for the good answers.

Goggle gives you all the different variations of your keyword phrase and jaaxy gives you he exact number.

These are quoted search results like this "how to build a bird cage" just as an example.. when you do a search in google put your search in quotes and click all the way to the end of the results to the last page it should match up with your results with jaaxxy. Its not the exact number all the time but its close. The number is your competition. The lower the number the better.

hope this helps someone..

Thanks, Bruce. That really helps!

You're welcome

This is a very good question, I'd like to know the answer as well.

When you look at Google, do you look at the second page of results?

I've seen a video from Jay saying don't go by the number on the first page. Always look at the total on the second page

I think one looks at all search engines and the other only Google. Go by Jaaxy though.

ROCK ON!

I am getting a lot of comments from people that have Facebook profile as their website. Also from places like match,.com. What do you do with these comments? The ones from Facebook

Definitely spam Peggy.
You will get loads unless you block them.
Robert

How do I block them, Robert?

Hello Peggy.
You go into Settings (Dashboard) choose Discussion and you have several options there.
Have a nice day.
Robert

Thanks, Robert!

No probs hope you get it sorted ok.
Roberty

I did, thanks, Robert! :D

Pretty sure they are spam Peggy

That is what I thought, but had to ask, thanks to all of you!

The Facebook ones are spam delete.

Pretty much 99% of the time that a comment has a url it is spam. That's why the new comment system on here doesn't allow you to include one.

hi
it depends on what the comments say. My experience with them is that they are spam. They are typically very generic or try to promote something. Is that the case for yours?

it sounds like spam, if comments are not relevant to your site or they have website url's with them it is most likely spam

Hi, I have been having problems adding some links to my pages on my website. This is a short example: the link starts with, the usual <domain name then id=J5KcvM69hrc&off

I'm sure glad you got it figured out. I've noticed a lot of things won't go anywhere from an email so maybe that was it. Have a great day.

Thanks!

I don't believe this, I decided to go directly to the Linkshare website to Best Buy and get the banner from there, it works. I guess it was just from the email that wasn't working. Thanks to all who tried to help! Cheers!

You need to highlight a word or words in your visual side then click on the link at the top and add it.

I'm sorry, Tommy. I have no idea what you mean!

Highlight a word within your content area and at the top right above your content area is a tab that looks like a chain link click on it and another box will open and paste your code In there just like when you add an image to your page. Here watch this video.

Thanks, Tommy. It must have been a bad link from the email. I went to the website and it works great. Thanks for all your help!

Can you download the image to your computer and then upload it to your website instead of trying to access it on the fly? That way you can just add the affiliate link to the image in the usual (or Pretty Link) way.

I will try that next, thanks!

I don't think the screenshot is big enough. You have to open it in another page to see it, at least I do! Cheers!

Hi Peggy,

It looks like it could be an affiliate link. I suggest you create a Pretty Link and use that. This may help If you're not sure about Pretty Links send me a PM.

~Marion

Thanks, Marion, I will try that!

Hi, Marion. I tried to shorten the link from Best Buy, but they said an error occurred and it will not shorten it. Oh, well, I don't know what to do unless I put in a support ticket. Maybe they can help figure it out! Thanks for you help!

Hi, Marion. It's happening again. Before it just fixed itself. I'm trying to copy & paste the link for siterubix onto a post and I can't shorten it. Do you have any other suggestions?

I find it much easier to download the image to my computer then upload it to the website using add media. Then I just use hyperlinks.

Can add html here - so see image attached . . . looks like you just need to put the opening and closing <> & </> in the correct place.

Thanks, I tried that already and it comes up the same on the page and doesn't show on my website. But thanks for the help!

Can you copy and paste the part of the text/ code for the link here so we can have a look at it, please?

I have to attach it from my notepad. URL's can not contain parameters like domain dot com is the message I got when I tried to put it here. Well, I tried to attach it from my notepad and that didn't work either. So I guess the answer to your question about showing you the link is NO! This system will not let me. I'm not sure what is going on, any help will be appreciated. thanks!

Take a screenshot & post that here

How about attaching a screenshot of it?

I will try that!

Here it is!

Ok, I am going to try this again. Every time I type the HTML code for an & (ampersand), when I hit the Add Comment button it changes the coding to an actual &! Uff!

Going back to what I was originally saying, because you are viewing your page/ post in the Text editor (not the Visual editor), you are seeing all the HTML coding and the HTML coding for an ampersand is what is written in the screenshot attached.

If you look at the first URL in the screenshot, you will see many '&' (ampersands) in there so because you are in the Text editor, you are seeing it in code. Does that make sense?

I'm pretty sure the problem is something else. We just have to figure out what.

I had a similar problem. I added a WA banner to my sidebar and it shows up fine on my Windows laptop and smartphone but it wasn't showing up on my Apple Mac computer.

I read somewhere this could be because of an ad-blocker software. I checked Safari (the browser I have on my Mac) and I did have an ad-blocker enabled. As soon as I switched this off, the banner appeared on my website on my Mac computer.

What browser are you using? Maybe you have the same problem.

Yes, that does make sense. That's what I don't understand, but I did go to the website and copy & pasted it okay. I think it must have been wrong on the email I got. Thanks for the help just the same, cheers!

Let me see if I understand what what you are saying. you want to share a page/post with facebook. If this is the case then first go to the page /post that you want to share then click view the page. After you are viewing the page go to the media icons click the F If you want to see instant results you can bring up facebook on a different search tab. do this before you click on the F I hope this helps

Sometimes i have to click like unclick like and cluck again i the share will open

You need to share not like if you wantt it to show.

Hi, Tommy. The problem with that is the blogs here don't have the share button, that's why I am trying to like them.

Add it with the plugin sociable.
