There is something that I do not understang about Pinterest.
Two months ago I was at + 26 000 montyly views and suddently it is going down, am wandering why?
Today
Hey there. To answer your question:
Yes, Pinterest is changing quite a lot and it will continue to change furthermore this year.
I work very closely with this platform so I make it a goal of mine to be aware of all that's going on.
For example, there was a really big update going on and all of the accounts suffer a major drop-down in traffic. I suspect that's when you experienced yours as well.
It's a fact that Pinterest is going public and will give much bigger preference to brands that pay, a.k.a the ones that advertise through promote pins.
That being said, normal businesses like yours and mine can benefit from the platform just like before, even more.
Personally, my Pinterest traffic went almost 80% down during the update. But I kept doing what I'm doing, trying and testing different strategies.
So, stay consistent and chances are, your traffic will increase again.
Just last week I had 3 viral pins which was the first time to have that many in such a short period of time.
Hope that helps to clear the air for you.
Let me know if you have more questions.
Best of luck!
They're all going to a paid model, inc. FB, but they don't like to let on. Soon, unless you pay, it will be barely worthwhile jumping through SM hoops to get a few links.

Not wanting to be too dystopian about it :-) but we are heading towards a time when eveerything will be controlld by a few big businesses :-)
Maybe I should watch more Rom Coms ... :-)
Ian
We have been definitely been controlled by big business, hard to beat them, right?
Thank you for your comments.
Jacqueline
That makes sense to me if Pinterest is going public and will give much biggest preference to brands that pay, then it's hard to believe that my traffic will increase again, but I want to stay optimistic, see what will happen.
Thank you for your support.
Jacqueline
You are welcome, Jacqueline.
Trust me, it's possible - if my went up, there is no reason why yours shouldn't as well.
Just keep an eye on what's going on right now:
Pinterest said a while ago that group boards are not favored anymore. I gradually left 90% of mine - my traffic shoot through the roof.
The recommended pin size is officially 600:900, but the platform is filled with much bigger pins currently. I tested a new size - I had my first crazy viral pin weeks ago.
Details like these ones can make all the difference.
Great question! Watching for what some say. My view count has gone up despite little activity.
I wouldn't think Pinterest has changed that much although it does work more as a search engine than a social network due to functioning on Jquery. Think of it as a "Dumb Google"
I guess I will need to understand further why? anyway, thank you for your comment.
Jacqueline
I know that few big names of the Arena of the online Market have invested lately lots of money and pay Pinterest for their ads and I m talking big money!
so for the next 1 to 2 months just for small fish without paying but just be members it be low followers as you know Money it's a very effective tool on the online market and that could be why your drop in been followed ......all will stabilize when monetary ads campaign will end!
have a good Sunday

You are pointing out the things about the big money lol! you are so right the money is a very effective tool on the online market, hard to compete with this.
Thank you for your comment.

you are Welcome, and you know I m considering in the near future to invest in ads and pay for click when I m set with the full promotion to go for it ( video presentation/ landing page, autoresponder etch as to monetize our activities online a bit fast)
on youtube, facebook, Pinterest and whatever I can find that put the product offered to many visitors and eventually buyers!
I m not nearly there yet! but it's my future plan for my campaign
ciao and have a good week:0)
Then you may have to be the exception because many others seem to have been affected like me.
how interesting that you said that. I was averaging 18,000 a month, and I have not checked it in about a month. I happened to
go to my sight, and it shows 387 per month????
I am very curious myself. If you find out what's going on before I do, please let me know.

I have experienced the same. I recently asked this same question. I havent changed anything either but I do use Tailwind now and my traffic still went down. After aksking about my pinterest traffic, I have learned its affected many people. So I believe Pinterest has done some sort of update.
Me too I use Tailwind too. You're probably right about Pinterest and its update, I probably have to look at some Pinterest training.
Jacqueline
Pinterest is a big mystery to me. Although I have an account seeing all those pics drives me crazy. Still trying to understand the concept of pins and boards. I better master it as it is included in our social media exercizes. Sorry to hear about your drop in views. I have maybe one.
Thank you for your comments, Edwin, I guess I have to try to figure out how to fix this.

Hi Jacqueline
Disclaimer: I didn't read all the comments below - so please forgive me if I double up on what somebody else has already said! ;-)
The WA Editor - is officially called SiteContent - from the one or two comments that I've read, it seems that people missed that this was what you referred to.
WP Editor, is the editor in Wordpress. ;-)
While you are still working on your post in SiteContent, you can change things as you like, BUT, once you have pressed Publish in SiteContent, you can't make any further changes in SiteContent. From then on you have to make all additional changes in the WP Editor, and it won't be reflected in your SiteContent post.
I know this is sometimes confusing, but SiteContent is just a separate area to organize your writing and to keep count of your total words written statistics.
Some people do all of their writing in the WP Editor. It is up to you.
Hope this helps a bit!
Sharlee (Chocolate IceCream)
Hi, Sharlee, thank you so much for pointing out about the WP Editor that is the editor in WP. sometimes it can be so confusing, but I finally resolved the issue.
I now write my first page and post in the content editor.
Jacqueline
Hi there, thanks for bringing this up. I have an iPad Pro and do all my work on there. I have found many issues with using the WA editor and whilst support has been able to solve some of them (thanks support you are great as always), as soon as another release of IOS comes out the problems start again. This leaves me no real alternative other than to go back to using WP direct. When I first got these problems with WA editor I still used it to put down blog ideas and add bullet points but in the end this just gave me more work. Shame because the idea of the WA editor is a good one, everything in one place. The point you make about changes being only one way however is a very valid one. This would require a two way api set up to take a change in WP and update the WA version, and I think the reason why that is not there is that the version that is published is the only one you need to be concerned with - in other words this is the end product and so if you make any changes going forward that would be done to the WP version. Again thanks for bringing this up - Does anyone else have views on this. I am all for supporting WA capabilities as I am sure you know.
I agreed with you, support is doing a great job to assist us, you've answered my question and for that thank you so very much.
Jacqueline
The post on the WA Content Editor is just a record of what it looked like when you first created it there. You can delete it if you want.
Use Google Search Console to submit your new posts to Google and to see when they've been indexed.
Thank you Phil, This helps.
I do use Search Console but I could not figure out why some posts were indexed in Search and not in WA Editor.
Now I understand.
Thank's again
Jacqueline
It doesn’t matter what is on WA, only what is on your site. Once you publish, you can delete what is on the site content area of WA. And I agree with you that it is confusing.
What I want to know is when WA is going to adopt blocks.
Thank you for your quick reply, it helps to clarify my question.
I'm learning blocks and it sounds very promising.

I had that problem with.my first theme... once I changed it it worked fine.
I think that is the problem with free themes.. some things just don't work - another wouldn't let me right align pics.

Hope this helps

hi Jacqueline -- it's all good!
looks like you've got a good thread of help discussion here already .... general rule of thumb, it's always helpful to see the https:// at the beginning of the URL as it signifies a secure site ... and of course, as Premium members, the SSL comes with our hosting automatically as long as we remember to click it ON our website settings ....
all the best to you for every success, cheerio ... ⭐️🎈
All the best as well, Keishalina, I will remember the meaning of https://
Have a great weekend.
Jacqueline
If you have a site Rubix website that is how it will look as they are subdomains belonging to SiteRubix which as part of WA.
However, should you purchase your own it will start with either http or https depending if you have SSL activated.
SSL means Secure Sockets Layer which basically gives your site more security for your visitors who visit. It is also favored by Google and other search engines.
If your SiteRubix doesn't have the https then go to Websites on yoru left then click view details and scroll down to the SSK and activate it so it turns green.
Once done you can always send your new sitemap to Google and Bing to let them know if you have issues with doing that you can contact site support and they can help you out there.
The added s on the http gives your website more security
Here within WA, it is part of the premium membership if you have your own domain hosted here as some other places charge you for it.
As for the name you can have what you want as long as it is available for example if available you could have https://kerjackie.com or whatever name you wish to use.
Hope that helps
Wishing you well
Andre
