Has anyone else seen this response in Google Search Console? I tried to click on request indexing for a post I just published and it was disabled. Then I saw this response (bel

Yes it’s been like that since October. Your posts will still get indexed, it just takes longer

Thank you. :)

apparently google are starting ot index paragraphs as well as whole artices
this means they need the indexing power of their machine all to themselves
i think it is taking longer than expected
your articles will be indexed in the fullness of time
best way is to get a link from a well crawled site ( hint like this one)
so get your link on the feedback or comments thread and you should be indexed soon.
otherwise promote as usual and wait for indexing....

I can actually confirm this now.

I've written an article about two weeks ago based on a certain keyword phrase - it's ranking position 12 in Google.

The next day I wrote a different article, but still related in some manner to the first article.

In fact, I have a specific paragraph in article number 2 that mentions article number 1 and hyperlinks to it using the keyword phrase.

That particular paragraph from article two is actually ranking in position 3 of Google for the same keyword phrase (so nine places higher than article one in its entirety).

The meta title shown for article two is exactly the same, but the meta description showing is that actual paragraph which includes the keyword phrase.

Go figure.

LOL.

I'm not sure what to make of it all yet, but this "paragraph indexing/ranking" certainly seems to already be in effect.

it is a blessing and a curse
if you think about it - if people can get all of the answer they want from reading a pragraph form google why would they visit your site....
google wants to keep people on site as long as possible
so i like it and i am worried about it and its affect on page views....
google will only index complete standalone paragraphs not something that indicates that they need more info from the site....
i will keep monitoring it and see how it goes
pleased you have got one of these already Partha

Thanks for the tip. :)

Hi, this has been suspended temporarily by google pending updates.

Renee, Google has been working with the indexing feature for a while so really don't know when we could have access to it again.
