Hi, I think it could be interesting to have stats about from where the WA members come from - Country and if available State.
I agree with the comments below that it should be optional yet I think it is a great idea! :) Christa
I think it would be nice simply because there are so many people involved and it is a small world. Perhaps there's someone right up the street from me that I haven't "friended" yet. We could actually meet.
Good question Giludi but as seen already, a bit sensitive to some. I cannot see why putting in Houston TX , or London UK, or Sydney Aust. would be a major hurdle to most people but others seem to like to remain very private. Yes, I would like to know, purely out of curiosity how many people in WA are from Australia.
If you want to provide that information, provide it, I have, simple. For those who don't want to, don't, simple. Bit of a non-topic really. I can't see anyone being sensitive about it. Not on this thread anyway.
You'll find many Members put it in their profiles and it has been asked in the past, give "where are you from" a try in search. As Corey says, it would have to be optional if it was added to profile setups and K&C aren't likely to release volume stats, as they'd undoubtedly view that as commercially sensitive. Rich.
Yeah exactly. I wouldn't mind it if there was an option to include those details in a text field that showed it under your profile picture or something. However it would have to be optional. I think allot of people would be put off if they were 'obligated' to provide that sort of information. For all intensive purposes, of why everyone is here at WA, I don't think it is necessary to even know, or divulge, that sort of information. We are all citizens of the world and all members of WA.
You mean optional right?
Not an obligatory 'red asterisk' field that we have to provide on our profiles aye?

One of my websites is a home cooking website where authors can upload their recipes. To do that they have to subscribe to my website. To make that possible I'm using Profile Bui
Learning from what you guys are talking about. So much to learn about Internet Marketing. Thanks to all
Hi, Giludi, sorry your challenge is above my 'pay grade'. If I knew the objective of your wanting to have them 'upload' the material on to your Site, I might have a comment or two, but for now, If I were you, I would expect that type of behavior, given the extent of the Internet and the fact that therr is a lot of "cute" people 'webbing' in and out of other's businesses and mostly thinking they are 'smart'!
Take care and hope you get some good ideas or solutions.
In the internet marketing you got so named click farms, where underpaid third world workers click on ads or create likes for people who pay to got clicks or likes. To prove that the are real internet users this same workers subscribe to normal websites.
Let me ask you this ---Why are you wanting them to upload their recipes? Now, I have my way --but want to see yours and see if I can help!!!

Ed, I think the reason giludi wants them to upload recipes is because it makes his subscribers part of a community, a bit like WA. They will feel part of the community and visit the site often, get ideas and may buy some kitchen gadgets or whatever while they are on the site. I suppose their recipes will get credited with their name which will make them feel important and appreciated.
Hope this makes sense and comes close to the reasons for doing this.
Yep, it helped --How have you been Granny --we go way back and it is good to see you again --keep in tough.
I am working with him to see if I help get it right --It takes a lot of typing to do this kind of help --I could do it over google voice or a phone in 5 mins --If you have any solutions let us know !!!
I have a website on mediterranean food and i began to get a lot of spam, i could tell they were spam because all their names begun with a designer name like Nike or Ballantyne.
I trashed them, signalled them as spam and set Akismet to sort them out.
Hope it helps
I have just subscribed to the website and you need to provide an awful lot of information before you can register, so it's clearly real people that are subscribing and leaving spam comments, so I am fairly sure a captcha code wouldn't help.

Today I've started my fourth month as a Premium Member. So I should be allowed to create training. But no, the message is still "Oops".
your blog posts have made great trainings, just by a different title, that said, you will benefit from the extra ranking points that officially being able to do it will allow you..
K or C will, I am sure resolve it. I have suggested that if we upgrade to annual, we should be able to post training from the get go...
Good luck, Andy
Thanks Andy,
I will continue to share my knowledge and surely find enough topics to explore.
Good luck for you too
Guy
There are some people here that could create training after a couple of days, maybe WA could have a volunteer group that could vet the training and give it the green or red light, whilst on this subject how come people offer training on a small scale anyway, like ''how to whatever'' in their blogs, I've noticed some people do this within a week of joining.
Another idea is to have a group of official Marshall's to keep a look out for shady individual practices, as not everyone here is playing the same game or am I the only one noticing things.
Yeah, the only solution to that is by submitting a ticket to kyle and carson regarding this matter.
This is something you probably will have to take up with Carson or Kyle. As members we have no control. As I understand the policy is a 3 month wait to be able to create training. Seems something is not correct. Good luck for a quick resolution.

Three Month as a Premium and not allowed to create training?

That's all folks.
Hi, Giludi, again... I wouldn't know yet how to do what you are saying above, but I do promote my www.nichemarkets501.com to non-WA members via a GDI Site I have, via my my 3 Blogs, via SafeLists and E-mail blasts. I Tried what you said above when I first came to WA and was severely [rightfully so] cut down, admonished and told one more time and my membership would be cancelled. I would guess that Techhound here just below may be talking about similar experience. Take care my good friend
Hey Guy,
It's not okay to promote anything here. When I first started out in 2009 there was a forum section that allowed promotions but it go so bombarded with offers people stop reading it after a while.
If on the other hand the website of a nonmember is something that can be useful to us all, and you are not gaining from the exchange, it is possible but depends on how it is presented and the context.
Personally, I think the non promotion policy is good. It keeps us all on the same goal of helping each other out.
Best Regards,
Jim
I realized that I said the exact same thing that Terea (@Trialynn) said. I wrote before I read the responses. Sorry Terea. Didn't mean to step on your toes. :)
Did I understand you correctly when I think you are asking if you can promote a friends or associate website? Generally the answer is NO because it is assumed you are an affiliate. If the promotion of the site is for the education of the members and you do not gain anything from it, I have seen it done. It usually carries a disclosure saying you are not an affiliate.

Is it allowed to make promotion for nonmembers websites here at WA
