I have just typed in a keyword that is in my domain name and found 2 articles of mine on page 1 of Google. What does this mean please?
It means you're doing great, if someone searches for that keyword, they will find you.
Keep up the good work.
Is 2 entries on google page one significant?

It is on my WA website.
I like it. I'm particularly interested because my grandbabies (4 and 2) are learning to read. Nice job. ~Debbi
Your blog is terrific - not enough emphasis is put on children's reading skills. Making reading fun can have such a massive effect on the rest of their lives
Left you a comment on the post. The post is good. What I didn't like was the FB comment box before the regular comment box. It caught me off guard. I had to copy the first comment to do the second. If you want that FB comment box, I would put it after the regular comments. Some folks don't like their comments going to FB. Just a suggestion.
Marilyn, you can always post anything you write on your site at the Give and Take Comment Thread. You will get good feedback there. You comment on two and then a lot of people will comment on yours. Here's the page: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/authoring-writing-content/the-give-and-take-comment-thread-get-website-engagement There is another page for website feedback, too, but I usually use this one. Let me go read your post.
The graded reading series is not in favor today? That's awful!
Anyway, Your blog covers a lot of ground in a short amount of time. That's a good thing!
I like the theme and the way the site is organized.
Your discussion of the different approaches to learning how to read helps to establish you as an authority of the subject. Based upon the blog, I would take a serious look at your product.
The graded reading series is not in favor today? I am sorely taken aback. :)
First let me say you have a very good attention getting website. As far as your post, when I read it with all the questions about possible reasons why a child is having all these difficulties,
I was looking for the answers. If you were trying to tell me that phonetics is the cure all then it did not come across like that to me.
After your questions it seems there was no answer given because you jump right into something else, your whole lang. and phonetic comparison.
Look at your Post without the question then it would begin with Whole Language and Phonics Learning Theories which I think is a good post title and it seems to me you could expand on that further. I hope I am not being to critical. these are just my opinions.
Good luck with your online business and may you be blessed and prosper
Thank you for such a considered reply. I will re look at the post from your point of view.
Many thanks,
Marilyn

I would appreciate some comments about how I could support home school parents and whether this is a worth while niche.
Thank you for commenting. I am trying to work out my target market and appreciate you indicating it is a possible one. Best wishes. Marilyn
Can you narrow it down a bit? Like maybe elementary grades or pre-K or something like that? A hot topic right now with homeschooling is homeschooling through High School. A lot of parents panic at 9th grade because they think they can't do it. People are always looking for this type of information. I was a teacher. I homeschooled 2 of my kids. They hated it. LOL I tutor a homeschooler now. If I can help, please ask me.
THANK YOU Carla. Yes my experience is mathematics and literacy for elementary school students. I realise I need to be precise.
Yes I think it is a niche. I home schooled along time ago and would have loved to be presented with this business opportunity. You could write articles on how to keep motivated, how to use aids to make the environment more stimulating for the children, you could even write about extra curriculum activities such as emotional intelligence, meditation. Obviously the type of content will depend on the affiliates that you use however if your thinking about helping the parents to set up their own online business to maybe help them fund their children's education these topics could possibly work.
Great information Melanie. It is especially valuable as you have home schooled. Thank you for taking the time to give such great ideas. Many thanks. Best wishes, Marilyn
Hi Marilyn. You're welcome. I'm glad I could be of help. Best wishes and much success to you! I think it's a great market to go into but don't take my word for it..best thing is to research it. I know that England has a non profit making association that provides parents with support and puts them into contact with other home educators. It has been a long time since I home educated so I can't remember what they are called or if they are still active. Perhaps you could have a look at them as I was thinking that may be a good way in for you to to reach your niche. I'm presuming that other countries also have some similar organisations too!
If I start thinking about that I might forget about what I am doing, Lol. There could be all kinds of useful tips I suppose.
Your reaction helps me to see I am on the right track. Thank you for taking time out to comment. It has helped. Best wishes, Marilyn
I feel it would take a great deal of research, maybe even surveys from parents that do home school, I am not exactly sure how you would go about this, but dive in and give a it bit, if it doesn't pull enough weight worthy to build a site on then move on and find another niche.
Good luck Marilyn.
Kim
It might be. There are more and more families doing this. I think they get the curriculum - perhaps some learning activities or ways to keep the kids socialized?
Thanks for a positive comment Sui. I am becoming more excited about the possibility of my niche being the right one. Best wishes. Marilyn

For example teaching phonics children can I write teaching phonics to children?
it's actually better if you do make it grammatically correct, never go for mismatch keywords that dont make sense, even if the keyword tool suggest they will rank.
It does have to be the exact keyword. So make it gramatiakly correct and type it into the keyword search again to see what the results are. It will usually be different.
I have also wondered about this since some of the best ranking keywords in the keyword tools seem to have a weird wording. Does rewording them affect their SEO power?
if you reword a good keyword but does not make sense..you just have to plug it back into the search tool and see the new results
This is the essence of finding good keywords! "How to grow vegetables" is different than "growing vegetables a how to" and is different to "vegetables a how to grow guide". These are all being search for by people and its how these have been used by competitive websites indicates how easy or hard they will be to rank for.
I would recommend using KW that are grammatically correct. KW tools will through out ones that are not and you will think its good but the searcher will be typing the phrase properly and when ranking for those you will get the non grammatically one also.
Yes, I believe you can make it grammatically correct. That's the way people use Google to search - words like to, a, the etc. are not very important in keyword searches. At least that's the way I see it. ~Marion
Hi Marilyn - I think the words have to match exactly - you could try keying in the exact phrase you want to use - that would be a better indication.
You can do this but it will not be the exact keyword however it will have all the keywords in it so it depends where you are going to use it
Barry
That's a point. Thanks. I guess it is about the ranking for the exact keywords. I do notice they can fit into a heading and Google highlights the exact keyword within the heading.

I have an eBook which is great content but I have no idea how to format it. Is there someone who could do this or instruct me how to do it? Thanks.
Hi Marilyn,
I've just reformatted an eBook to publish it on Amazon Kindle. If this is what you want to do then you'll have to jump through a lot of hoops to get it accepted. Please PM me if you want me to go through the details as it really is quite difficult. If you just want to create a PDF file then my friend and mentor, Apache1, has already given you a link to my "how to" post. ~Marion
Hi Marilyn the following link may be of help you created by one of my friends here at WA
