After I changed my website theme, my posts and pages seemed to be different... The font was smaller, and I wasn't able to make changes to it like I was before... Help?
Thank you guys so much for the feedback... I definitely prefer the last theme's draft layout, but since this theme seems to work so much better for me, looks-wise, I shall have to figure it out!
Thanks again. ^_^
Kylie
Just follow whatever instructions given to you by the more in-the-know fellow WA members here and you'll solve the problem.
Yes, changing your theme can mean some extra work, some themes are easier than others. What theme is it and what bits do you need help with sorting out, specifically?
Each theme has its own parameters. You will notice anything from a few small insignificant changes to a what appears to be major production. Makes for some interesting surprises and observations. Good luck. Cheers :)
It depends on theme. For me, the menus changes and I need to go back to menu lesson to select the main menu to get the thing in order.
Font and others can also change, it is all theme dependant.
Hmm, okay, thank you! =) Apparently my post actually looks the same outside the 'editing page', if that makes sense... Weird... *sigh* oh learning can be so interesting, eh! ^_^
Thanks again for responding!

You are correct, since every theme is different, some just very slightly, your post and pages will change when you change the theme. Sometimes, not always for the better.

Since I looked into Amazon to see what kind of opportunities would be there as far as advertising, they have called me a few times to see if I want to set up an affiliate accoun
Hmm... I wonder if maybe they are offering something else that I am not picking up on, haha? Thanks so much for all your guys' input and help! Good thing I didn't take them up on it... I will look into it asap, and let you guys know how it turns out!
Best thing you can do is to just go to their website and create your account for free.
https://affiliate-program.amazon.com/
Yeah, Amazon's free. I should know, I'm an affiliate. I think you're misunderstanding something. Why don't you actually call them on the phone. They do have phone support.
Like the others said: Amazon's affiliate program is free.
Don't get fooled by scams which say otherwise.
This is a general rule:
All affiliate programs and networks are free to join. Not only Amazon.
When someone asks for money upfront you have to stay away from that.
Amazon could not call you to ask $90. Affiliate with them is free. Be careful, do things directly through them. They are great huge company and I have affiliate and use their banners on my both sites. Jovo
Oh, really! I had no idea! Maybe they were offering a different package than I had first thought?
Thanks for the info!

Someone suggested I put my WA widget on my site, but I'm not sure how to even create my own widget (unless it is already created, haha!). Any solutions? ^_^
Kylie
Hi. Click on the little airplane icon at the top of your screen.
Click on Banners
You should see a selection.
All you have to do is copy/paste the code into a widget in your sidebar or post/page and your done.
To Add a Widget you should click on Appearance on your Dashboard
Choose Widgets
Click on the little black triangle on your Sidebar (over on the right)
Drag a TEXT Box from the left over to that Sidebar Section
Paste in the code you got from your WA Banners section into the TEXT Box.
Click SAVE and you're done.
eezy peezy.
have anice day.

How do I make and then add my wa widget?

Hello everyone, I was hoping to get any and every tip you could provide on how to write an awesome blog! =)
You can’t underestimate how much or how little your audience knows. Have they tries other programs and failed or is this their first attempt. Remember - narrowing your niche helps drive traffic.

Hi
I'm getting bogged down in some details as I try to seriously start my first blog post and I'd welcome your thoughts and advice.
I have some well scoring keywords and am unsure whether I should stick to one per post or use more than one of the closely related ones in a single post?
Obviously I don't yet have a following.... but some of what I will want to write about will eventually be able to be linked to specific products e.g. on Amazon and other sites with affiliate programs. Do I write generally for now and get more specific in "a deeper look at...." type posts later?
I can write plenty in general terms for now to give the earlier posts a "source of good info" tone.
The topic is specifically health related (healthy weight loss over 50). Should I find some disclaimer to ensure no-one even thinks about trying to make me liable?
If I want to develop a single point of reference type authority for my blog, I should have some factual stuff e.g. perhaps height weight chart, BMI calculator, lbs/kg converter. Any idea if there are open source or similar options for including these in my blog. I'm not shirking on the research, just don't know where to start looking. Most of these are simple calculations so I could do it myself, but not sure reinventing the wheel is a good use of my time right now.
Thanks for any advice, including if this is not the appropriate place for this post.
Lots of good questions. Let me try to help.
You should only focus on one keyword per post. You will still rank for others without even realizing it. Beginning with a general post and then delving deeper on specific points is spot-on. That way, those that are really interested on learning more will be able to get that info. Once you write those additional posts, go back to your original post and put in a link to your new post, such as: 'to get more information on ….. see my post: ….
You can also link the new post back to the old one if it is appropriate. Internal links like this will keep your visitors active on your site and is good for Google ranking.
I think that is a great idea to have a disclaimer to protect you from any lawsuits. The medical field can be tricky.
As far as height/weight chart etc., I am sure that you can find those online somewhere. Just be sure to check your sources out thoroughly so that you are not dispensing bad information.
Best of luck.
CJ
Hi, you already have some good ideas here. Just work on a topic based on one keyword, plan subheadings, and decide on a main message that you want to deliver and keep that for the last paragraph.
Search for some images and maybe charts or tables and identify where you might insert them.
Let go of all the fear and start writing. When you are done, ask a question that will encourage a response. Best wishes !!!
kbeaudoin, do what I'm going to do; don't worry about the blog being "awesome", just start writing. After a while you'll get really good at writing. I keep putting it off but will have to do it within the next day or two. Just start.
Hi,
well this is a bit general. ;)
Did you follow the "get started here" training? The green button on the upper left. There you learn how to chose your niche/topic and how to write great content.
If you don't want to promote WA, you should choose something that you are interested in.
You basically become an expert in your field.
Don't be afraid of this "expert thing". As long as it is something you can easily talk about, and are willing to learn more and research about, you can become an expert.
I chose archery, as this is my biggest hobby and I know quite a bit about it.
Still I do research to make sure everything is correct.
You can have a look here.

You can write about any topic you are interested in.
If you have any more specific question, please let me know. :)
Hello! =) Thanks for the feedback! I posted the question on here and linked it to my site in case the readers on my website wanted more advice on blogging besides the tips I provided. ^_^
All the best,
Kylie
