My niche has not got the www bits in front of it, so it is not a website, so how does this happen, or do I have to finish content and stuff like that first, have been following

I am a little behind the curve, but I agree with everyones opinion here. As soon as you buy your url and have a WP page up, you have a website.

Marion is a legend. She is so helpful all the time and does some really great training as well.

Thank you for your question.
MarionBlack has given you a very good explanation!
Linda

thankyou for your input cheers

Your domain name does not need www it does not need http:// (except in some circumstances when you can just add it manually).

As soon as your domain name is hosted and WordPress is installed you have a website. Then you can type just your domain name into your browser and you'll see your website.

Keep on adding new content because your website will always be a work in progress.

ok thanks so much Marion I was a bit worried

You have to determine the content in your niche and then mind map it out on paper with categories like; about me, faqs and gel your bits into posts. then select the proper theme and plugins as shown in the basic WordPress training. When you are ready, hit publish! Of course you will need to improve from there as in any working enterprise.

thank you

instead of on paper you could use xmind, or as nathaniell does bubbl.us. this will give you something you can change as opposed to thinking it is fixed.
have fun
phil

Hey
Hope all is well
To answer your question

First you purchase your Domain Name
Secondly purchase hosting for it, get it live, et voila, you got a website

Feel free to pm me if you need help
Have a good one

thanks Joseph I will

I'm not quite sure what you are asking....have you created and published a website? There is not one on your profile? Your 'niche' is your chosen area of interest....please don't take any offense, but probably need more specific information so that we can help you.

Your website won't have www in front of it. It will be http://yourdomain.com or .net if you purchased a domain.
Laura

thanks Laura I have purchased a domain cheers Helen

Hi can someone please let me know how much aussie dollars do we pay for a years fees please?

As the exchange rate changes frequently it all depends on the day the payment goes over, so if you paying yearly check the rate on the day you pay

thanks i will cheers

It depends on the exchange rate on the day you pay. It appears to change every day at the moment.

thanks for the tip cheers

All I do is keep an eye on the general exchange rate from the news.
As others have said it is around 0.72 cents at the moment.
Then I take the USD price and divide it by the current rate 0.72.

So my latest purchase which was $100 USD equates to $100/0.72=$138.89 AUD. Not entirely accurate but close enough to do the job

You just have to be aware that some sites like PayPal use their own rate which is a bit lower than the official rate. So you end up paying a bit more. That's one of the ways they make a profit :)

thanks for that I will work it out cheers Helen

It will also depend on how you pay. Each bank will differ slightly in their conversion rate. I use this site:
http://www.oanda.com/currency/converter/

thanks for that cheers Helen

I use a currency converter too. However I don't think it matters until the exact day your fees are due. My countries currency has taken a dive in resent months and when it's converted I'll end up paying a lot more. Keep track of your currency and make sure you have enough in the account when the fees are due. This is the way it works I think but I would recommend going to the boss if you want to make sure. I hope this helps.

thanks for replying cheers Helen

It varies by the day so you can google 'currency converters' to find out what today's exchange rate is. ~Marion

thanks I will cheers Helen

The dollar value changes almost every minute so its hard to get an accurate conversion. It is currently at $0.72 AUD vs $1.00 USD. A handy tool you can use is available here http://www.xe.com/ this will give you a fairly accurate determination at any given time. Just select your chosen currencies and input the amounts you want to convert and calculate, press enter.

thanks sounds easy cheers Helen

At the moment 1$ au is worth 0.73$ us dollars.

thanks cheers Helen

Hey what I did is converted what the usd is and then u will know what u have to pay.... Mine was $319 usd I paid $444 Aussie dollars around there but when I look a few days later at the Dollar rate Aussie payment has around $500 something... It just depends on the rate at the time u pay..... Hope that helps.... Cheers J

yes it does thanks cheers Helen

please help I am stuck, need to unload pics from f book to website, how do I do this please?

Looks like you're question is covered

You can do what Steve says but just make sure the picture you are uploading is your own. If it is someone else's picture, make sure you have their permission to use it on your website. You wouldn't want to be sued for using it on your website.

good point, Boomer. I assumed they were her own pics.

Thanks for crossing the T's on this one Robert, was going to post that exact comment.
As usual, you don't miss a trick ;))

thanks for that, I did only want my pics, cheers

open pic in fb, right click and 'save as' to desktop. Go to your website and upload the image from the desktop to where you want it.

wow thanks so much Steve, it is always easy when you know what you are doing' have taken note of this. cheers Helen

You're welcome, Helen. Take serious note of what Boomer said though if it's not your own pics.
