It occurred to me that I meet so many interesting and diversified people here at Wealthy Affiliate and that got me wondering,
How Did We All Decide On WA?
We are
Ever since I started work in the digital marketing field, I have always had the dream of having my own online businesses. To make lots of money online, be a digital nomad and see the world.
Full time jobs took precedence for many years. The dream was put on hold, And yet, the dream was always at the back of my mind.
Finally, a few years back, I decided enough is enough. Enough of selling my time and my skills & knowledge to help other people grow their businesses, and they make millions while I earn a pathetic salary that will not get any higher or more because there is a salary ceiling to every job.
So I made a plan. A strategy. What was my goal? As it was always - to have my own successful online businesses. How will I get there? I did my research on all the ways to make money online, and drew up a strategy with a route towards my goal.
In the course of research, I came across Wealthy Affiliate and a few other Affiliate Marketing programs. Based on the research, Wealthy Affiliate was the one that stood out - training, support, community with many reviews that said it was legit.
So I signed up, gave it a try. In a very short while, I realized how super it is here. I can really build and grow my online businesses and succeed.
So I went Premium, and have been ever since.
Great success to you! :)
Hi, Timotheus
So many of us are or were under the constraints of working full-time to keep the bills paid. For most of us, that is all it did!
It is so exciting that you already have so much knowledge of digital marketing, I hope that it makes the transition easier for you!
Timotheus, we are lucky that you are in the Wealthy Affiliate community, I know I need advice all the time and you have a wealth of experience.
Once we go with the Free starter package it is easy to see the benefits of Premium, it was the best thing I ever did.
Thanks for taking the time to share your story, I know it will help many others!
Keep in touch,
Gloria
Great question Gloria. I looked for several years to find a program that would show me how to make money on line. I had limited success with a few programs. Most were just scams or required large amounts of cash to get the tools you needed. Wealthy Affiliate was the only program that offered everything under on roof, plus it was affordable. I joined on free side being pretty skeptical. I soon found it was the real deal.
The community is what really sold me, following in Kyle and Carson's Pay-it -forward footsteps. Success through helping others. What a concept. You can't go wrong. Imagine if the whole world felt that way.

True Story, Don
You are so right!
Wealthy Affiliate offers you the choices on how you will choose the method that you will embrace and learn with confidence.
We all enjoying learning and growing in very different manors, some visual (videos), some are readers, and others prefer doing over testing. One method over another, the only thing that matters is learning. Wealthy Affiliate has it all!
We should all apply any and all methods that will help us aspire to the place in life we want to be.
I feel so much gratitude for the response to this question,
I can feel the excitement in all of your stories!
Success is all around us,
Gloria
I joined because I wanted solid training to build the skill set I need to have my own online business.
I also wanted to be able to work at my own pace - since I'm still teaching full time until I retire in a couple of years.
I also wanted a supportive community with like-minded people who are focused on success.
WA is all of this and more. It's the most worthwhile investment I ever made. Even more so than college and graduate school.
Hey, Wendy
Thanks for taking time out of your weekend to respond!
Life is broken down into goals or needs.
You and I see what we need to accomplish our goals.
I am so inspired to have taken the opportunity in front of me, with other like-minded entrepreneurs.
Cheers,
Gloria
I am here on a great call. I speculate where the need is greater!
Great question! Wealthy Affiliate has a lot to offer to anyone that is looking to change their existing situation.
Actually, I wanted to join a place where ther would be lots of people in need of help! I wanted to become wealthy in knowledge
Then, moneytary value will follow.
One of my callings is to help others, this must be the right place. A great and awesome community, where everyone is working and learning for a common purpose or goal.
Today I am wealthy! Thanks to a great group of folks.

Oh yes,
The Calling!
To change what we can!!!!
I cannot go into any retail establishment without someone asking me if I can help them find something.
I always do.
They are always shocked that I Do Not Work at the store.
Wanting to help others, does not mean we cannot also help ourselves, also!
I am also Wealthy,

I came to WA about 3 1/2 years ago. I was looking for ways to make an income from home. I realised that my son, who had been asked to leave his school in 2012, was never returning to mainstream education. The plan had been to catch him up as he had fallen so far behind, was being bullied, and reacting to that with behaviours the school would no longer tolerate - they deemed him the problem and wouldn't look into the reasons. No other schools would take him when they saw their reports. I decided on distance education. So here I was with a child who was home with me, needed support to do lessons due to learning disorders, and having to rely on my mum to care for him so I could work. I only work part-time but the hours I was away on my workdays cause major logistical issues. In the past few years his sister, 5 years older than him, has been helping but she now works fulltime.
However, in that time I have dropped out, come back, dropped out, come back - it finally clicked late last year that this is not a get rich quick scheme - I have to do the work. The problem was not WA, the problem was me. I am working on fixing the problem and moving forward.
So fast-forward to now, I hate my job, I have a distance educated son who needs help, my elderly parents are requiring more assistance and mum struggles to care for my son when I'm working. I need this to work. I need to have the income I earn currently replaced with my online site.
I will do this! I will not drop out this time.
Thank you! I have some great people I chat with in PM and we are supporting each other on our journey!
Megan,
Your story makes my empathy rise in so many ways. We all have situations in our life that make us say, no way I can take this risk.. not at this time.
Invisible walls, in an invisible market!
You are an amazing individual who will not accept sitting by and doing nothing. Nor, will you accept answers that do not agree with your standards for the life you have chosen for your family or yourself!
You have So much to offer others in this situation. Most do not have the strength to research all that you already have. Please share with other families.
You are now an expert.
You will know let them know they are not alone.
Hopefully, this will take some of the fear from their lives and other families just starting this long journey.
Megan, thank you for taking the time to respond, we all now know how busy you are.
Please, let us know if we can help. We are all in a boat, let's swim together!
I am so grateful for you sharing your story,
Gloria
Thank you, Gloria. Funny thing is my niche isn't in this area. I have debated targeting a niche for this because I have been living this for many years with my son. At the moment I am focusing on the niche that is building out nicely, and once that is income producing, I can focus on my next venture!
Knowledge is knowledge, life applies in many ways.
You are very strong and that will show or come through no matter what you speak about.
Life experience is prolific,
Proud to have you on my network.
Always look up, that is where the rainbows are,
Gloria
My story is similar to yours. I was always seeking to learn and find the program that would help me build the internet income that so many others had claimed to find.
I had been searching for a program that offered the training they promised, without all the upsells and lies/false promises that I had bought into before.
When I first heard about Wealthy Affiliate, i did a search for reviews on it. Of course, i found several sites telling me how Wealthy Affiliate was not so good - so join my site instead. I knew those were lies.
However, I did find several favorable reviews, and decided to try the free membership. I found that everything that was promised was here.
Lydia
Lydia,
So grateful that you took the time to share the truth, the struggle, dare I say, doubt?
You should have doubt, we all do!
You must take the responsibility for due diligence!
You should always research, research.
You did and now you're here, working hard and learning.
Ask us anything, we are here to help!
Gloria
Hi Gloria,
I can offer a few reasons:
Optimising a blog for search engines and getting good rankings is an important way for me to reach all the right research subjects I will be writing about in my PhD. WA teaches the nuts and bolts of doing that very well, and the monetising of blogs that follows is just icing on the cake.
My husband already has an online presence for his career by way of peer-reviewed sites and mainstream media. They're well-visited. But he doesn't own these, and he doesn't have any kind of personal outreach. Learning to build a blog around his existing career will help with that.
We both already have nice day jobs with agreeable incomes. But the work that we both already do is capable of finding a 'next level' with the principles that WA teaches.
If I were only paying for the site hosting and editing tools, WA would offer enough value for money for me. But we also have community, education, and awesome tech support in addition to all this! If everything else I currently pay for online dropped away, WA would be the only thing I hang on to.
Morning, Ivy
Sorry I missed your response last night!
It sounds like you and your husband are at the place in life that you will be moving to the next level. More and more people are beginning to understand the importance of an online presence no matter what field you choose in life.
There are many of us that are ready to start using our efforts to build something for ourselves. When it hits us that our own abilities are making someone else rich, it almost hurts!
No matter how we all got to Wealthy Affiliate, I know it changes lives. We learn the ability to take control of our future!
Good luck on your journey to your Ph.D., very glad to have you on my network!
Gloria
Hey, thanks Gloria! It's so nice to have the encouragement of good people.
There is a lot to learn, but I really like that so much of what's offered is readily transferable to other kinds of skills and functions.
Our kids are also soaking it all up - our interest in e-comm services and courses began with our eldest taking an interest in e-comm for her school project. And here we all are, today. :)
Hello Gloria, I was looking for somethig that would challenge my mind, that I could do anywhere and make crazy money, money that I could use to do what I wanted to do. tried several other things, e.g. surveys, and a few other online business proposals that turned out to be scams. I was researching one of those when I came across Wealthy Affiliate (WA). The reviews were very positive and signing up was free. The rest is history.
Hi, Harvey
It all comes down to the research and learning how many scams there really are online. It takes time to weed through all the Crap.
I try now see these efforts as a waste of time, with each scam I learned what not to do. When I found Wealthy Affiliate, I knew from past experience what I should be looking for, what I needed to get from any program that I would join!
Bam, and here I am.
No more looking, no more worrying, just working towards my future at my own pace!
Thanks for sharing,
Gloria
Hi Gloria! I discovered WA through some old blog post when I was surfing the web. I was looking for resources that helped with creating your own website with the eventual goal of creating a stream of side income in the process.
I knew that I needed some help getting started and WA seemed like a perfect fit. The community is probably provides the most value. Just having other people who are going through the same thing as yourself can be such a great resource.
As I continue to build out my site, I'm trying to learn more each day and become more active on the WA platform in general. Thank you for sharing and good luck!
Will
Hey, Will
It is great when we can have access to like-minded individuals that are not competing with each other. They simply want to help with achieving our goals.
For me, the worst part of any position that I been in is the constant competition for advancement. Friends cutting each other's throat for a very little monetary betterment.
Well, no more my friends,
Together we will succeed,
Gloria
My membership began with a search for ways to improve my own existing site. I was tired of paying someone to work on my site to do the things that I didn't know how to do - only to have them screw it up!!
So, while looking for a solution to a certain thing I wanted to do on my site, I stumbled upon a WA member's site that led me here.
Once I saw how thorough (and simple) the training was, and realized just how helpful the other WA members were, signing up for the Premium membership was a no brainer. It took about 30 minutes for me to join.
Although I have only been using what I can learn here for my own site, I am now seriously thinking of creating a "money making site", as many here have, that will bring me a residual income.
Thanks for asking. Hope you have a great many responses!
Well, I know it helps me and I know it will help others!
Many thanks for taking time out of what I know is a busy schedule to indulge my curiosity.
We have similar stories on other websites providers and how they milk every dime and Never provide knowledge on how to make necessary upgrades with our growth. They simply want to play on your fear of Technology.

So I am trying to add Amazon to my website and I have found my credentials but I do not know where to find the tracking ID(s) for a Marketplace?
If you are completed in doing your affiliate link, go to your associates page and there right next to Home on top bar is "Linking" with an arrow down and if you click down on it, it says "Link to any page". That should help you. If it's not helping or you can't get in, something might be missing.
Are you trying to insert a fixed add code or a link?
Typically, I go to Amazon and choose the ads that I want to insert in a post. They will automatically add the tracking id for you, You simply copy and paste information into your website.
If you want to manually type in tracking ID, when you login into amazon website, at the top of screen to the center /right you will see your email address associated with account. Click on it and it will provide link to manage tracking id's
I hope this helps a little.
Thanks, I know it will.
But I am on the setup page for Amazon, Settings for Associates Link Builder.
Below is information they want.
Tracking Id(s)
Add a Marketplace that you want to create Amazon links to.
For each marketplace, you can add multiple tracking ids, separated by commas. The first tracking id will be considered as default tracking id for that marketplace.
Enter Tracking Id(s)
Remove Marketplace Default Marketplace
Add a Marketplace
It sounds like you are using some sort of plugin that I am not familiar with.
I add Amazon ads manually to either a by adding a text box to a widget or inserting a link in the individual post, Although it make take more time, it gives me more control, Plus, it isn't that hard.
It is super simple. Have you spent any time on the Amazon Associates site? In particular, look under the product linking tab.
You may need to contact the theme or plugin support service desk. I hope you are not using something that is trying to get you to set up an Amazon store, which no longer exists.
I was using a plugin, I will uninstall and use your way sounds easier.
Thanks for taking so much time to walk me through it.

This looks more like a plugin issue than a theme issue. Deactivate ALL your plugins and see it the problem persists. Then you can activate them again one at a time checking as you go to see which one is the culprit. It's most likely that there's two plugins that don't play nicely together. It was a DANG Plugin!
Hi again Marion and thank you for always being there to help!
So I did try you solution first, but unfortunately for me this was not the issue. So I will be working my through the suggestions.
Thanks again!

I'm not really sure what's going on here other than maybe the type of theme you have is a block theme and is possibly making this type of appearance.
If that's the case then I thing you can delete the blocks and have your article run on.
I sure hope this helps you.
Hi EandMs,
Thanks for reaching out with a solution.
So far this seems to be the issue, I removed the images and then changed font. I will go slowly adding other images and watch that the font.
I really want to thank for suggesting this, it seems there are many reasons that a website theme might cause a content issues.
Wishing you great success!

I fear that doing a rewrite on this basis is like straightening deck chairs on the Titanic Gloria. Underlying format problems often carry over and are sometimes impossible to get rid of. There are too many variations from font size to style to spacing
I would completely rewrite your content on a researched theme that you are sure of and stick with it.
Hi MKearns,
It was indeed a format issue, and I agree a write was not going to solve nor would it teach me how to solve this issue if it happens again!
Thanks for taking time out of your schedule to help a damsel in distress! LOL
Have a successful week,

Hi!!! So I am no expert, but for what you've been writing it seems you have menu appearances issues! Check them up on the appearance tab of the wordpress! In my experience, I had wrote done some of the content I have on my website and then decided to change theme, this completely twisted upside down the layout. Result was that I had to spend an hour or two on seeing hw every post and page was layed out while fixing the appearance settings ;) Hope I've been of any help!
Thanks TBaldi,
Thanks for taking time to relate!
It seems it was a format issue and I went through and removed all images, then changes the font. This seems to fix the issue, now I need to add images (different) back into the post and pray that it stays beautiful.
Wishing you great success!
