Hello everyone,

We all create posts and include references to back up what we claim on our posts.

Is it important to create a policy about references that we use

As long as you ref naturally where appropriate you will be fine it can be a Web link for example. Just don't copy and where you are quoting make that clear. It's not a thesis Good luck

Hi Farah, I am not a lawyer but have not come across any laws that require bibliographical disclosures. However it is good practice of course to name sources. In your shoes I would search for a plugin for bibliographical purposes such as these:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/tags/bibliography/
:-)
Richard

I believe it is mostly personal preference, although some articles seem to need a reference, while others just don't.

Hey Farah
I never came across or aware of.as long as I include the source of my research when using. But I think I still have to write my own copy.
Wishing you well and a terrific day.

thanks for fast reply, when you say to include the source of your research when using - I only do this with the words highlighted, so when they click on the words, it takes them to the source website... I do not have a references list, is that needed as well?

I believe that's fine too seen both, some include bottom of page and some like you say highlight and hyperlink.

For example Wikipedia has internal linking within text but external bottom of page.

I am always seeing the typical layout of a list of posts, one after the other as you scroll down - Instead how can you create thumbnails of your posts so that they appear side

Hi Farah,
If you want your blog roll to look more graphic then add a featured image to each post and arrange them in 2 to 3 columns, if your theme supports this.
I use Generatepress theme but only the paid version supports columns.
Frank

Hey Farah,

Having Google searched your question, I think you will find lots of helpful tips in the search results should you decide to ask Google, and then read through a few of the posts to see which one you'd like to try first. See screen print below...

PLEASE, back up your website before making ANY changes so that should something go wrong you can recover your site as it was before the changes started.

If you need a great backup plugin, here's the one I recommend: as I use it for regular backing up sites.

Hope you find this helpful.

If you are using the official merchant datafeed, often the images include a thumbnail image of the product. That's what we usually include in the datafeeds from Awin and ShareASale.

Hi, that may do it

Why does Google index pages such as - af1765d3c277c54a93ae680bd348bba0_cropped_optimized ... on google??

When I click on it- it takes me to a landing page with an image

That's same discussion as this

yes, that's mine and there are other links like those within Google's search for my website...

It is a mystery to me, Farah! I hope you figure it out and when you do--post the answer for us!

Jeff

many thanks Jeff:)

You're welcome, Farah! I hope you are doing well!

Jeff

I don't quite understand your situation here friend. Are you telling us that the image you have on your website has it's own URL which is completely different from your blog post?

yes - if you click on this https://wholeearthgoodness.com/af1765d3c277c54a93ae680bd348bba0_cropped_optimized/

it is an image from my website - separate in google's indexing - what do you think?

If that image doesn't look like it was there by mistake. When I hover my mouse over it, it still has your website name. If you don't want it there, see if you can delete it. Let me know what happens. All the best!

I have to agree with Candy, I don’t know how it works either. I hope you get an answer soon.

I don't really how it works but when I open a post on my site then click on the image i'm able to open that image as though it's a linked post.

I know I don't have links on them though and the only thing that shows up on the page is the pic. And yes the URL looks like that.

Candy Benn

Yes that happens through Google when you search for my website and wondering if this is normal??

Why would pages as these gets indexed as it looks unprofessional as you find it through Google?

I don't really think it appears when you do searches. At least I am able to see all of my pages that appear in the search engines and these don't.

Are you actually seeing yours in searches?

Hi, before you got this have you changed something on your site, you could always reach out to site support asking for a previous back up.

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites/support

I also suggest you do back ups before you make major changes, You can use AIO WP Migration or Updraft plugins. UpdraftPlus is a premium and highly recommended.

However, hope you get it resolved sooner.

I hope you get it sorted, Farah!

Hi Farah, I just suggest that you go to wordpress dashboard and unders setting, you go to writing. Under the writing kind of tool, there are changes that you can make or set up such as spacing, paragrapfs, fonds, etc. Hope this help.

Hi, have you changed your theme? This can happen only if you changed something.

Is it all your articles or just a single one?

If it happens for the entire website, I'd suggest you contact the site support and let them know about that.
