All in One WP Migration is the simplest and most reliable plugin to use if you want to migrate your site to WA (or from WA to another host). It's quick and easy and does a FULL backup of your site. No more losing formatting or images when you migrate - you will get your exact site on the new server!

Great tutorial, and just what I was looking for while I wait to hear back from site support! Have installed All-in-One WP Migration plugin and exported files from site I want to transfer. I think before I do that, however, I need to transfer the domain name to WA and create a site in WA for that domain. Is that correct?

I may still wait to have site support do the transfer for me, if I can be patient. lol

Thanks!

That's correct. You need an empty WP site to install your backup into. The site support guys are great though and it usually doesn't take them that long to get back to you.

Thanks! I plan to wait for Support's response before I try to tackle this on my own, but at least I know there is a easy way now to do it myself.

I was waiting for other things besides Support, but finally ended up moving my website per your training. All went well, like magic almost. Thanks!

Such a great tutorial.. thanks so much. Can you move them to a rubix site and then bring the name over and then move from the rubix to the original .com? I don't really have the money to buy new names extensions for 6 sites I want to mitigate over to WA.

You certainly can. Just set up your base siterubix sites and install the migration plugin. On your .com sites make sure to do the find/replace step putting in your new siterubix domain and you should be good to go!

I did what you said, however, I was unsure about the find and replace thing. I exported my site www.virtutemcentral.com and then imported into the WP site that was created in WA and it all looked good, did the permalinks saves, but the site is gone now all that shows up is a blank white page, and the admin panel is all new with nothing on it.

Also, it is using the password generated by the WA WP page not my old one. Am I totally lost or can I recover.

You need to make note of your password for the site you are backing up - I say that in the video.

Are you using https at WA and maybe only http on your previous site?

I did all of that, then, because I lost everything I changed name servers back to godaddy and had to restore to yesterdays back up and it took a while but I was able to get it back, and then I went through the process again and made sure to do the find and replace. After it imports, and it says it is importing 3550 files now, however, when it gets to the permalinks setting it never asks for the password it just loads using the one given by the WP site on WA. I tried to use my old one and it says wrong password. I am going to have to move it back again but I will lose it soon because I am dropping their hosting all together,

I need to do this, however, I do not have a site to move it to on WA, what I have is http://virtutemcentral.com and I just want to migrate it over, same name but I do not have another WP address on WA, if you understand what I am saying.
