Hey guys
So I went through the training that Marcus provided and my website is still very slow :/ I can get rid of the plugins I used to try and make the website faster,
I thought for this one as alternative for Marcus. How To Make Your Wordpress Site Load Dramatically Faster
What I do to maintain a fast load speed:
1. Shrink my pictures and use Smushit plugin to gut it then remove the plugin.
2. Only keep the plugins that you cannot do without.
3. Delete all revisions and optimise database by using, optimize database after deleting revisions plugin, then remove plugin.
4. Test website at pingdom website speed test. If it is still too slow, you may add CometCache Plugin. It will really speed up your website.
Thanks,
Ed
Hey Anthony,
Look into a plugin named W3 Total Cache, it has helped speed up my site.
It needs to be set up properly in order to work. But again, look into it and make sure it's a proper fit for you and your website.
I have heard of it before. Not really too sure how to set it up correctly. Is there any training on that?
Also. I haven't checked that training, but did you verify your site speed from an outside source?
Hi Loes, do you know how to remove these scripts above the fold?
I was recently looking into it, tried to add coding to place the unnecessary javascript to appear at the bottom of the page with little success.
Hmm, some scripts can be really bad Jason, I'dd rather not use them.
When you have a href banners or custom made, put them on top of your sidebar. I often come across websites, who have scripts right under the header, and it takes ages to load those pages
Hmm. I actually ran it on the gmetrix site and there are all sorts of things wrong. But it takes my site like 3 seconds to load on my phone or laptop.
Not sure, it's the same with me. On mobile it's okay but with the desktop it's taking awhile to load :/
The only thing I use, Loes is an image of myself. Is that bad? The image doesn't even link to anything
No, that can't be the problem, is your computer to stuffed? or is your connection to slow? Have you tried your site elsewhere on a new system?
I'm just saying because I had this battle too, but I decided to figure something else out with my plugins in the end.
Yeah I got rid of the plugins that Marcus suggested in the first place, but with the other ones I can't delete them. I think I have about 10 plugins overall
Because usually if your site takes a minute to load, no one will get there. I think estimates are in the very high percentage of people who leave after like 8 seconds or something. It gets higher the longer it takes.
That's why your site is slow. I'm not the expert, but there are several here that might be able to help you get the same result using less plugins. I use sumome because it does like 7 things all in one plugin. Just an example. But, even if it means alot of work changing those things, I'd say it ought to be done. Site speed is pretty high up there on priority. Best of wishes. Geoff
10 plugins are the average amount that people use? Well, those who aren't premium don't of course.
No not 10. Look at your site health, it'll tell you. Any more than 5 starts to slow your site usually.
I made a training course on that. Kyle said that is simply a guide nothing else. If you look at the training properly you will notice that even he uses more than 5.
All the plugins that I use are updated so I am not sure if it's even that to be honest.

I want to make it so that I can put a link or something at the top of a post to skip to a certain part in the post? if that makes sense. Does anyone know how to do so?
Actually I've just spotted this training created only yesterday, your lucky day! This is probably more specific than the last link: Contents with Jump Link Within The Same Page
Thanks again, I was getting confused with the last one lol. I don't really understand all this HTML coding thing, this is actually my partner's wealthy affiliate account, I just use it for my own website so I honestly don't really have much of a clue about this stuff!
It shouldn't be too tricky, just involves pasting a few links really. Let me know if you have any more trouble with it.
I managed to get it working! thank you once again :) I was struggling really bad with that.
When you are still confused, here is another one:) How to add an jump (anchor) link on same page

So I requested some comments, but for some reason the post that I requested the comments on gives a 404 even though it's the right page.
How can I fix this?
What is the URL of the post you requested comments on? Make sure that you have published this post, if you made it a draft again then this would be the issue here.
Yeah, it's been posted. Here is the URL Kyle
http://earningpaychecks.com/how-you-can-get-started
It has numbers at the end of the URL for some reason
the URL displays like this
http://earningpaychecks.com/how-you-can-get-started/[questionmark]v=79cba1185463
Looks like there is some affiliate link attached
I run the affiliate link on Google and it seems to have something to do with the Woocommerce plugin

Hope this helps you into the right direction

Does it matter if I use pretty link all the time for my affiliate links? I know that a lot of members here use it and Kyle recommends it in the training, but does it HAVE to be
Is that cloaking and if there disguised what benefit do they have? How do costumers find them?
Good question. The cloak and dagger approach to hiding your affiliate links are two-fold. First, many possible customers will see your affiliate link (because they all look very similar) and refuse to click your link. The second reason some very dishonest hackers online that may know how to steal your affiliate commissions (this was common for Clcikbank associates).
So if you disguise your link (with pretty links) you can get some extra ranking by making your link a clickable keyword. I hope this qualifies as a good answer to your question.
Ken
Pretty good answer thank you very much :) What I will do since I have gotten some mix answers is I will test it out in a few articles that I have done
This is only for visitors, and this only before they click on the link. After that the complete ugly links is visible. So it is up to you.
Yeah I spoke to Kyle about it earlier and he said exactly what you just said :) So I won't be using it.
I don't get it. I can name my links how I want in WP, just by using the normal link building button. Why a plugin for that?
pretty links are for affiliate links. You can't name your affiliate links or else it will make a 404.
Pretty link gives you the option to name your affiliate links. I don't use it though.

Hey guys,
So I am trying to make a new article for earning paychecks and whenever I make a new post, the all in one SEO option isn't there, but it is when I make a new pa
that is good, hope all is going well, weather is awful and I am heading to Buckinghamshire tomorrow have a good week
Okay....
It would be the only thing that wasn't suggested. Thanks, Loes haha it was that.
What's funny is that it was checked before I went to sleep last night so why did it automatically untick itself? Do you know?
Oh okay. I didn't even know that it could untick. I will look out for that next time. Thanks once again.
I put a ticket in so if not then I will make the switch. These past few days for my PC/website has been a nightmare.
I was going to say about the same thing.
Step 1: install YOAST
step 2: transfer info over to Yoast
step 3: abandon all-in-one
In the SEO General Settings page, scroll down until you get to "Custom Post Type Settings" and make sure that both "Post" and "Page" boxes are ticked in the "SEO on only these post types:" section. This may be your problem.
Alright, I will take a look now. Thanks.
This is updated. I just checked. The option is already ticked.

Thanks to all that helped. I have got it now. My average site load speed is 4 seconds now. It wasn't a plugin issue at all. I added CometCache like Mijareze suggested and it worked.
Glad to hear it. I use Comet Cache on both my sites too.
