Does browsing in incognito still influence google analytics?

Great question. I didn't know you could do that. Just watched Jay's video and did it. thanks again Linda

would it make sense to split it into two posts (probably same title bc of the keyword, just adding II at the end?)? I might be able to find a breaking point somewhere at the mi
Linda,
1. I never count how many words I write. I just write to ensure the information provides value and that naturally gets me to a high word count.
2. Longer posts that provide value are great. You don't need to break it up into a separate post unless you're doing like a series post. 5 Steps to something. Then you can make each post a given step assuming the individual posts are 1000 words or more.
But in general longer posts are good and encouraged. You just want to break them up into easy chunks to digest and keep people's attention. Read this: Do You Have Style? I hope this helps.
Glad you liked it Sheila! I did the same thing when I first started writing. But then I realized it was pointless. I just needed to focus on giving the information I wanted and helping people. The word count usually just works out fine if you do that. So I'm glad you realized that as well. I think when we're learning this business we get to caught up in all the specifics and forget the bigger picture. So I try to keep that in perspective in my blogs here at WA so people don't become fixated on the wrong things.
thanks very much Eddy I just thought people might not want to read the post if too long but you are right, if the content is engaging this should not be a problem at all.
ah, so true, you just want to make sure to do every little bit 100% right when you start this business. obviously with great routine comes great wisdom as well - or something like that :) certainly wont dwell on things like this in a years time or so :)
I'd leave it as a single post, the majority of mine are 2,000 words plus these days.
I just blogged about this and think you may find it interesting The future of successful content
It may rank but who will read it. I don't read long post unless it has a lot of graphics in a really hot topic. I would break it up. Maybe a series. It could be three. Good luck
Yes it was my concern as well but i will try to add pictures and use lot of paragraphs then to make it more readable.
I've seen very successful posts 4 times that length. If it's quality content it's quality content.
If you look at your bounce rate you'll probably find it's way lower than your shorter posts.

I have created a logo for my new site (I have downloaded a picture and modified it by adding the red symbol and the text, so I suppose this is OK in terms of copyright) and add
What theme are you using? Each theme functions differently. As you mention, the site title may be under your image. It's also possible the image replaced the text. You might consider adding the text to your image for a quick and easy fix.
On a side note, you might check the usage rights of your image. Most stock photos don't allow you to use their images in your logo even if you modify it. It may be okay to use it in your header, but probably not for a logo. I thought I'd mention that.
thank you for your input I might just leave it as an icon then. I have the exact same text added onto the image, but in order to be readable I would need to enlarge it too much, which would be out of proportion and destroy the look of my site...
Good deal. WordPress has so many options, it's sometimes difficult to filter through everything in order to get the right look and feel.

hello fellow WA members,
I have decided I would put my first page on hold for a while (only built the framework so far and have a few draft posts - basically just titles
I would make it a bit broader
something like "jobs near"
jobsnear.com or thejobsnear.com
all extensions are available for both
Hey Linda, awesome that you are being proactive in your situation, that takes a great deal of strength of mind and determination to pull yourself out of a situation that is making you miserable. I like Eddy's suggestion below, to keep your idea a little more generic than bullying in the workplace, and Ave 212 below suggests a few website names, one of them escapethegrind - I like that one, you could use this and then fill your website with all the best working keywords for bullying and other reasons to escape the grind ! Good luck and keep going !
I just put 'stop the bullying' into Jaaxy and got some ideas. Give it a try. Do well, Robert
Hey Linda,
I don't think you have to go the whole bully route. You can just keep the domain name more generic towards making money or changing careers. There are a lot of people looking to change careers for various reasons so I would target that which gives you more range. Because I think you'll run out of job bullying topics very quickly. But if you stay more make money or replace your income focus that makes it much easier. I hope that makes sense.
Eddy
Hi Eddy thanks for your thoughts. The only thing which gets me confused is that at the beginning of the trainings we've been told to try and be as specific with the chosen niche as possible, but you are saying I might run out of topics quick if I narrow it down too much (well at the moment I feel I could be b1tching about it all day :)). Will think about it for a few more days I suppose. Thanks!
Hey Linda,
You're welcome. When I say it will be hard to write about this for years to come, do the keyword research. How many are searching for how to get out my job because of being bullied. How many variations of that can you write about without repeating yourself. Whereas something like ItalianGreyhoundDogTips, I could write reviews about collars, toys, food, beds, training, etc. So job bullying I don't think has a lot of content ideas. But I haven't done the keyword research. So that's where i'm coming from. But that's just my two cents.
Eddy
Yeah I think that makes more sense. Think about what am I going to write about every week. Are people searching for that topic. This niche article: -1- What is a niche? really does a good job of helping you think a niche through. So i would read all the sections of that articles since there are a few that will probably help you.
Those are good suggestions for the anti bully niche.
This one is available: anitbullysite dot com
However, you said you are going to do Bootcamp and promote WA instead.
If that's so, I suggest a domain name that makes sense to people who are looking for training to create a business online.
The workplace anti-bully niche is very specific. Someone searching for information on bullying will not appreciate landing on a site that is about training and learning how to build an online business.

Hello! I'm really sorry to hear that you are having such a miserable time at work. Bullies are just the lowest of the low. I really hope that you can make this work and escape. Nobody should have to work in an environment like that.

hi Andrew thanks so much, this is very kind of you to do some research on it for further ideas :) will read your guide, too :) thanks again!
No problem. Hope you can find the right domain for yourself. I know what its like, I spent over a week before I decided. And don't underestimate the importance of it either, if you are not happy with your choice you will regret it in the long run.

Linda,
Long tailed keywords tend to be easier to rank. Stay away from short 2-3 keywords since they are damn near impossible to rank for as a new site. If you're using the WA or Jaaxy keyword it's easy to figure out which keywords to use for your articles. Be sure to review the keyword training again if you're confused.
Also keep in mind that you will naturally rank for other related keywords in your article. So even if you're not ranking for your main keyword don't get crazy, you'll probably rank for variations. This is why I say you shouldn't pay attention to rankings here: Are Rankings Really That Important? I hope this helps.
Eddy
Hi Linda
for sure long tail keywords convert better, make sure when using them they make sense. Also another tip, is that google doesn't recognize punctuation, so you can add a semi colon, or colon where ever need to facilitate using it.
One more point here, is that if you haven't already, check out Robert's training on keywords Latent Semantic Indexing and Keywords for Higher SEO Hope this helped out
